Ramsay Street
Terese tells Brad that Mary would like to clear the air with Paige. Brad says that Paige is not interested, but Terese thinks it's worth coming up with a way to get them together.

Off Air
Karl tells Susan he thinks Tyler stole his guitar, and they made a mistake asking him to stay with them. Susan says that she took it to the shop to be mended.

SUSAN: Please tell me you haven't accused Tyler of stealing it.

Lassiter's complex
Tyler is sitting on a bench, and he tells Mark he's got to leave the Kennedys'.

TYLER: You're right. I'm just a big mess up.

He asks about the case, and Mark says there haven't been any arrests yet.

Harold's
Paige says that Mary has "ambushed" her twice.

AMBER: Mary did raise you.
IMOGEN: But Dad and Lauren are her real parents.
LAUREN: It's a bit more complicated than that.
AMBER: Did you ever think that maybe she was sincere.
PAIGE: Yeah right.

Amber says Matt's death showed her you don't know how long people are going to be around. Paige says that Mary was never around for her... Lauren gets a text from Brad asking them to the Waterhole...

Waterhole
...where Mary is waiting with Brad. Paige is annoyed, and Lauren wonders if it's the right approach, but Brad says it's an opportunity to talk.

Off Air
Karl tells Mark that Tyler overreacted. Mark asks if there was anything that set him off.

KARL: I said we'd thrash it out at home.
MARK: "Thrash it out" - did you use that term?
KARL: Yeah, why, does that mean something?
MARK: It's something dad used to say.

Mark says that his dad was always frustrated with Tyler, and so he has a problem with authority figures. Mark asks Karl to consider giving Tyler another chance.

Harold's
Naomi and Daniel come in and Daniel joins Imogen. Naomi congratulates Imogen on the speech, and Daniel challenges her to write a haiku.

IMOGEN: Paige is a great gal
Sometimes she can be a pain.
DANIEL: Ducks... are cute and fun.
IMOGEN: Smashed it!
DANIEL: Yes we did!
NAOMI: Really? No actually, trust you two to high-five over a haiku.

Amber arrives, and takes one of Daniel's sandwiches. He tells her she shouldn't be having it, adding that he's got the list of foods for pregnant woman on his phone. Amber is irritated and says she doesn't need it.

Waterhole
Paige is having a rant at Mary, who says that her demanding job kept her from attending a lot of events.

PAIGE: Admit it: you've never wanted me.

Lauren suggests to Paige that she tell Mary what she overheard when she was 10. Mary explains that that's when she found out that Paige was stolen: her ex-husband said that the mother was a drug addict.

MARY: That's what the argument was about. It was about the illegal adoption. It was never about you.

Paige asks why she didn't do something about it, and Mary says she tried to find the doctor, but he had died. Brad says that is consistent with what Kathy said. Mary says finding out that the drug addict story has made her feel even worse.

Off Air
Tyler comes in and apologises to Karl, but says he should apologise, and they agree to a fresh start. Karl asks what got him so upset, and tells him that Mark came over to talk about him. Tyler is pleased.

Harold's / Paul's apartment
Imogen asks Amber what's going on between her and Daniel, while Naomi asks Daniel the same question.

Imogen is amazed to hear about the no-baby-talk pact.

Daniel tells Naomi he doesn't know what to do.

Imogen says they've got this far because they *do* communicate.

Naomi tells Daniel to make a grand gesture.

Waterhole
Paige asks Mary if she felt guilty why she didn't do anything about it. Mary says she tried.

PAIGE: What, with expensive gifts and meaningless gestures?
MARY: You never rejected them.
PAIGE: No, I always smiled and pretended everything was OK.
MARY: How was I supposed to know otherwise.
PAIGE: Because you're a parent. You're supposed to know.

Lauren calls a recess, and Paige strops off. Brad and Lauren go after her, and Paige shouts at Brad for arranging the meeting. He and Lauren point out what she heard at 10 wasn't what she thought, but she says it doesn't explain the years of bad parenting and she doesn't want Mary back in her life. Terese walks up and gathers it hasn't gone well.

Off Air
Karl and Tyler are in the kitchen. Karl asks him about his father, and Tyler says he's grumpy and he's never seen him smile. Karl says that all relationships evolve. Amber comes in, looking for Daniel. She looks at her ring pensively. She tries calling him again...

Harold's
...and he tells her to meet him at home. Naomi wishes him luck.

Lauren tells Terese that apparently she was a "drug addict". Terese wonders if Paige was exaggerating how bad things were. Lauren says that Paige overheard something, and Mary's explanation puts a different spin on things. Terese says she thinks that Mary is leaving - she hasn't extended her stay. They agree it would be a shame.

Lassiter's - Mary's room
Mary opens the door to Lauren. Mary assumes that Lauren is upset with her.

LAUREN: No, no. Your ex-husband lied to you: my mother lied to me. That makes us both victims.

Mary asks Lauren what she should do, and Lauren says that maybe it's actions that are needed. She should stay in Erinsborough and show Paige she cares.

Harold's
Paige is not impressed that Lauren has told Mary to stay.

LAUREN: She's your mother.
PAIGE: Uh, no, you're my mother.

Paige says Mary's behaviour over the years is not good enough, but generously admits it's a free country so she can stay.

No 32
Daniel is laying out photos of him and Amber in a heart shape - his grand gesture. She arrives home and they sit in the middle of the heart. He tells them they were meant to be, even though things are difficult at the moment. He hands her a photo.

DANIEL: You told me this was the moment you knew we were meant to be together.
AMBER: ...
DANIEL: It's not enough, is it?
AMBER: Do you think it is?
DANIEL: I wanted it so bad.
AMBER: I know. So did I.

She takes off the pearl ring and gives it back to him.
