- Mark feeling his brothers are like strangers
- Amber has a scan and Karl wants to talk to a specialist.
Hospital - Karl's Office
Karl tells Amber, Daniel and Josh that they can't confirm the diagnosis, but the indications suggest it's a condition called congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Karl says it's a serious condition, and recommends some specialists. Amber asks about the baby's chances. Karl doesn't want to speculate, but Josh is online on his phone and says it's 50/50, which Karl agrees with. Daniel asks about treatment; Karl says they'll have to monitor the baby's condition.
KARL: It's lucky that we've picked this up so quickly.
Karl is sympathetic.
Tyler and Aaron come in, and Aaron gets another text from his ex, which he doesn't want to talk about. Tyler shows Aaron the book where they write the jobs for the day. Aaron laughs.
AARON: Do you count your day's takings on an abacus too?
He suggests that Tyler's boss should invest in a computer, which Tyler thinks is doubtful. Susan drops in to introduce herself. Nate stands outside, scowling. She asks if there are any more Brennan brothers, and Aaron says no, just a sister. He comments that maybe Nate will say G'day next time. Tyler takes a painkiller. Meanwhile Nate tells Susan he didn't want to talk to Tyler.
Brad and Terese are talking online to Piper, who is coming home for the birth of the baby.
TERESE: It's going to be such a special time. All of us together, Josh and the two girls.
BRAD: Three girls.
Brad remembers something coming up next week, which is a cause for celebration. He tells Terese she should be involved.
Lauren has just got off the phone to Lou, who has reminded her that her marriage to Matt had so many more ups than downs. She tells Paige that's what she's going to remember. Paige says it sounds like a plan. Brad arrives and asks if it's a plan for her birthday. He and Lauren agree that she should definitely have a party. Lauren and Brad get phone calls from Amber and Josh respectively.
Amber is upset, saying it must be her fault. Daniel and Josh try to comfort her. Daniel says that the specialist will answer all her questions.
AMBER: I don't want answers. I want someone to tell me Karl is wrong and this isn't actually happening.
Josh promises everything will be OK, but Amber points out he can't promise that. Lauren and Paige arrive, and Lauren hugs Amber. Josh takes Daniel aside and tells him they have to be together on this, as it won't help Amber if they are competing. Daniel agrees.
Aaron gets another text from his ex, and Tyler asks if he's ready to date again. Aaron says only if the guy is "completely sane and drama free".
Waterhole - Outside
Josh talks about CDH to his family. Josh asks Terese to ask Nick if he can recommend anyone. Brad offers help with paying for specialists, but Josh says he's going to work hard to earn enough.
Tyler invites Nate to a party he's throwing for Aaron. Nate is non- committal. After Tyler has left, Susan tells Nate not to throw away a good friendship the moment things get rough.
Josh approaches Forrest and asks him for more supplements to sell. Forrest says that there is another range of products which are not officially approved, which have a higher profit margin. Josh explains he's on a suspended sentence, so he can't do anything illegal.
FORREST: You want to make fast money, you won't make it selling Vitamin C.
Paige is talking to Amber when Ethan texts her about her party She says that she is going to cancel, but Amber insists that everybody needs something to celebrate.
PAIGE: OK. One awesome 21st coming right up.
Nate turns up and finds that Aaron doesn't know anything about a party. He's going to leave, but Tyler gets him to stay. He tries to get Nate and Aaron to chat (by saying they've both been to London) but it's very awkward.
Paige is talking to Terese about her party. Terese says that the staff will do the catering and also offers a staff member to help with the decorations. Paige says her mum and dad will do it, and asks if Terese minds. She says no, but they might be distracted with the baby.
Lauren, Amber, Daniel and Josh are having dinner. Brad comes round with a list of specialists. Amber says they can talk to Karl about the literature Josh has found. Josh is distracted.
JOSH: I just keep thinking about that stat. 50% survival rate is not great.
DANIEL: Yeah but it's not hopeless. There's still a 50/50 chance this baby will survive.
Brad says that the figure doesn't count the families that choose not to keep the baby.
Tyler is still trying to set up Nate and Aaron, and he mentions a military museum. Aaron hates the very idea.
AARON: They turn war into something noble. Then they make out all these soldiers are big heroes when all they ever do is just shoot people.
NATE: Right, that's it. I'm off.
Tyler tells Aaron that Nate was a soldier.
AARON: Me and soldiers don't mix. Make love, not war, that's my motto.
NATE: That's original About as much as I'd expect from an exotic dancer.
Then they realise they are both gay and that Tyler is trying to set them up.
AARON: Are we the only two single gay guys you know?
TYLER: The only two in Ramsay Street.
They both tell Tyler they are not interested. Aaron calls him Gertie, to Nate's amusement.
Amber asks Daniel and Josh if they'd thought about "other options". Daniel says they're not even sure of the diagnosis yet. They agree to see whatever specialists and doctors it takes. Josh says he may have found a way of getting more money... Daniel offers to help.
Tyler buys Aaron and Nate an apology drink. Tyler admits to Nate that he stuffed up, but he's changed.
TYLER: You're looking at the new Tyler. Good choices only from now on.
Nate agrees to back him up, provided Tyler never sets him up again.
Lauren and Brad chat briefly about the baby situation. Paige asks them for help with choosing a theme for her party, and she asks them what they did. Lauren had two kids under 2 - but she was going to have a pop stars party. Paige thinks that's a great idea. She says her idea was characters from Grease (her favourite film). Brad suggests a sports theme, which doesn't impress Lauren, so Brad tells her to come up with something better.
LAUREN: What about... a P party?
BRAD: What, as in garden peas?
LAUREN: No, as in everybody comes dressed as something beginning with the letter P. P for Paige. Hmm?
BRAD: I think pop stars is better.
Paige looks happy as Brad and Lauren banter about party ideas.
Josh asks Forrest about the other supplements he mentioned. Forrest says they are peptides, some of which are legal, others not.
JOSH: I'm in. I'll sell anything.
