Lassiter's - Nick's room
Nick challenges Georgia as to what she's doing and how she got in. He's angry that she got a key from reception.
GEORGIA: OK, fine. I wanted to find something that would prove you were a liar.
He guesses that she's been looking at his computer and demands she empty her bag. He asks for the pass code for her phone, on the grounds that she might have taken photos of his files.
GEORGIA: So there is something you're trying to hide.
NICK: It's called patient confidentiality.
GEORGIA: Well, hey, you've already got my passwords. I mean that's how you got into my profile, right?
She calls reception and asks them to call the police. Nick tells her to hang up.
In reception, Nick tells the police officer to search her, but he says a female officer will search her at the station.
Outside, she surreptitiously hands the memory stick to Kyle, who happens to be sitting outside. Nick scowls and Kyle looks concerned.
Sue Parker is visiting and she tells Paul that the Cancer Centre is a huge coup for Erinsborough. So she thinks the announcement should have been made by the Mayor, or at least another councillor, rather than an assistant.
PAUL: It says that we are more interested in establishing a centre for people who are incredibly ill than raising our own personal profile.
Sue comments that Paul is looking pale and is often absent from meetings. She comments that he's doing too much and can't focus on the council.
SUE: Erinsborough deserves a full-time Mayor, not a hobbyist.
On her way out, she sees some of Paul's "Zaprotil" tablets on a shelf.
Naomi is walking B2 and she meets Mark. He says he owes her a special evening out, and they agree to have dinner later. He gets a phone call, which is obviously not good news.
Mark tells Lauren that he's not going to get any more resources to go after Dimato. Lauren wonders why he's telling her, and he says that he needs her testimony about what Matt did.
LAUREN: You want me to help you label my late husband a corrupt cop?
He explains that it will have consequences for him as well, since he covered up Matt's involvement. He says that Dimato needs to be brought to justice. Lauren says that it won't be at Matt's expense.
Mark is interviewing Georgia, who wouldn't answer Const. McKay because she was waiting for Toadie. Nevertheless, Mark decides to plough on regardless. She says she didn't take anything, she didn't break in "exactly", the constable has checked her phone and her emails... and she's not answering any more questions.
Lauren is discussing the situation with Brad, saying that Matt was only going to come forward as a last resort. Brad tells her to think about it. She agrees, and asks him not to tell anyone, even Terese.
Enter Terese, who is on the phone to someone at the hotel about the Georgia situation. Brad and Lauren come out of the kitchen, and Terese asks Brad what he and Lauren were talking about. He says it's confidential, which she's not too happy with.
Paul is talking to Karl about running for Mayor. He suggests some issues that are important to voters. Karl points out he has agreed to run yet, but Paul says that Susan will support him - and they don't want someone like Sue Parker! He then gives Karl the council minutes and a lot of other paperwork.
Sue asks Karl about Zaprotil, saying she's read that it's often given to cancer patients. She wonders why Paul might be taking it, adding that, as a councillor, she's got a right to know if he's ill. Karl says that he's sure Paul would disclose anything that the council needs to know. Sue notices that he has the council minutes, and asks if he running for mayor, and if Paul knows.
KARL: Any questions you have for the Mayor should be addressed to him.
Paul is upset to find that his hair is starting to fall out.
Lassiter's - Nick's room
Terese tells Nick that Glen has had a written warning. He says she should have sacked him, but she points out that nothing was stolen and Georgia is being dealt with by the police. He says that there are confidential files on the computer, and he stutters that he feels completely violated. Terese comments that's it's out of character for Georgia.
TERESE: It's a very good reason why you shouldn't have made that stupid bet in the first place.
NICK: This is my fault, is it?
TERESE: If you're gonna play with people, they're gonna want to fight back.
NICK: But that is no excuse for what she did.
Terese assures him that Georgia has always been professional and would respect patient confidentiality.
Kyle can't understand what Georgia was doing, breaking the law. She says that she had to get evidence from Nick's room. She says she's copied Nick's hard drive (what - all of it?) and she wants to go through it. He had her bucket list, and he must have her journal, which contained all her passwords - that's how he accessed her profile page.
KYLE: What did Brennan say?
GEORGIA: I didn't tell him.
KYLE: Why not? It proves what you've been saying about Nick all along.
GEORGIA: No, it proves that I took something from his room, when I said that I didn't.
She says she's sure there's something she can take to the board to clear her name. He points out that they could add theft to the charges against her.
KYLE: Is this really worth the risk? What if you're wrong?
GEORGIA: I'm not. I can't be.
Karl tells Paul what Sue had said to him. He says that he knew his sickness would come out eventually, but he wanted to be in control. Naomi says he still can. He has to make the announcement work for him. Karl listens, impressed. Paul asks if he should call Nick, but they say no. Paul decides to call his kids and Daniel first.
Mark apologises for how hard he pushed earlier. Lauren says she knows he wants to bring Dimato to justice, which is what Matt would have wanted. So she's going to help. Mark comments that he knows it's going to be difficult for her.
LAUREN: Assisting with the investigation is one thing. Telling the kids, that's going to be the hard part. They've already been through so much. And they will be devastated.
She tells him how difficult Bailey has been. Mark says maybe she doesn't need to tell them, but she doesn't want any more lies.
No 26 garden
Georgia is looking through some stuff on her computer when Karl arrives. She asks him about the hearing. He says there isn't going to be a hearing. Because of her actions breaking into Nick's room, she's been fired. Karl says that her work had always been exemplary.
KARL: Because of this misguided vendetta against Nick, you've ruined your career.
GEORGIA: I'm trying to clear my name here, Karl.
KARL: I am stunned by what you've done. Not to mention very disappointed.
Sue Parker and some random extras have gathered and Paul arrives. He asks Naomi if she's managed to contact Daniel, but she says no. She reminds him he's in control. He starts to talk, and Terese walks in with Nick. Paul finishes his announcement and Terese looks shocked.
