Number 32 Back Yard
Matt and Lauren sit on the porch, and are frustrated that the kids have made this decision, though admit they'd probably make the same mistakes if they were the kids' age. Lauren thinks that Bailey's reaction to her proposal just reinforces her fears. Matt says regardless of how the kids are reacting, he wants to own the house and thinks there should be a compromise. Lauren hopes that the kids calm down and see where they're coming from.

Harold's
Brad tells Karl that he's making surfboards at the men's shed. As Brad leaves, he passes Paige and Bailey who complain about their parents' offer. Bailey says he wants to get an education and he won't get that by buying an investment property. Paige suggests he takes out a student loan for his education, and Bailey thinks its rich coming from her (excuse the pun) as she's had easy access to money all her life.

PAIGE: Excuse me but you have just been given a huge pile of cash which you haven't had to work for. So for five minutes can you stop acting like a little brat?
BAILEY: Don't call me a brat. Okay, let's get something straight Paige. You don't have the right to tell me how much I owe my parents or how grateful I should be, okay, you didn't even grow up with...

Bailey realises he's gone too far, and stops. Paige stands up and walks out as Bailey shouts after her that he's sorry.

Number 30
Toadie tells Sonya to not blame herself. She had no idea that Erin was turning up to those cricket matches without Cat's knowledge. Sonya wants to talk to Erin, but Toadie tells her to give Erin some space and suggests she do some of the paperwork piling up at the nursery as a distraction. Sonya agrees, and goes outside to take in the washing first. She kisses Toadie as a thank you for being so understanding.

As she leaves, Toadie answers the door to Erin who barges in saying she need's Cat's address. Erin wants to explain to Cat why she couldn't bring herself to speak to her after seeing her play cricket. Toadie can't give out Cat's address without her permission. Erin blames him and Sonya for screwing things up for her. Toadie tells Erin that Sonya is bending over backwards to help her and says nothing but kind things about her. Toadie thinks if she wants to make things better she should start by apologising to Sonya. Erin refuses to listen to this and storms out.

Men's Shed
Terese and Imogen visit Brad while he's working on a board. Brad explains what he has to do, Terese seems interested but Imogen couldn't care less. Brad notices Imogen gloss over, and jokes she should pretend to be interested like Terese. Terese insists she is interested, she remembers when Brad used to 'sand his surfboard for hours' in the back shed. Oh my! As Terese and Brad reminisce about how attractive they found each other at that time, hugging and flirting, a look of horror overcomes Imogen's face as she reminds them she's still in the room and tries to get them to stop. They continue to flirt, so Imogen reminds Terese she has a meeting with Paul about the festival, before rushing out of the shed. Terese tells Brad that the meeting can wait, before they start kissing.

Lassiter's Lake
Imogen joins Paige who is skimming stones across the lake to take her mind off things. Paige tells Imogen that she feels Bailey has turned his back on her. He's her big sister when he wants to talk about girls, but when money is involved he treats her like her opinion doesn't matter. It took her a long time for the family to feel comfortable with her, and then this happens. Imogen laughs.

IMOGEN: If you're calling him a brat and he's wanting to disown you, that's pretty much as family as you're ever going to get.

Erinsborough Hospital
Erin walks into Karl's office as he's about to finish work. Erin frantically explains that she saw Cat, and everything went wrong and she's not coping. She doesn't want to undo the good work they've done, and asks for something to take this feeling away. Erin can't continue with the program when she's this stressed out. Karl tells her to sit down and suggests there are lots of ways of coping with stress. Erin cries, saying she can't take this. Karl tries to calm her down, telling her he can't give her anything other than support. Erin approaches Karl suggestively, offering him something in return, it only needs to be between the two of them. Karl shuts her down immediately. Erin realises it was a mistake and begs him not to kick her off the program.

(Later)

Karl and Erin sit down to discuss the matter with a nurse present. He explains that he'll be making a note on her file and talking to her case worker, and a nurse will always have to be present for their sessions. But he will keep helping Erin, if she can respect the boundaries. Karl says she didn't have to stay after what happened, but she stuck around to face what she had done, and that shows she is stronger than she thinks she is. Cat is invested in this too, she wants a mother as much as Erin wants a daughter. Karl suggests that Toadie could talk to the DHS on her behalf. Erin thinks she's burned that bridge too, Toadie won't ever want to see her again. Karl's her last chance.

Men's Shed
Terese and Brad come out from the other room, kissing, hands all over each other. They notice that the bottle of resin catalyst has been damaged and has spilled on the floor. Terese suggest they pour it into an empty water bottle (uh oh!)

Sonya's Nursery
Erin asks to talk to Sonya. As Sonya begins to apologise, Erin tells her to stop. She tells Sonya that she's been looking for someone to blame for all of her problems, and Sonya's done nothing but try to help her. She doesn't deserve Sonya's help, but she wants to make it up to her because she wants Cat to be a part of her life, and she wants to get better for Cat. Erin hopes that Sonya won't give up on her because she really needs her. Sonya hugs Erin and says of course she'll support her. Sonya tells Erin not to lash out at Toadie, she'll need his help with the court case coming up. Erin promises not to make any more trouble.

Number 32 Back Yard
Bailey walks up to Paige, who invites him to sit with her. Bailey admits to being a brat. She admits to being harsh, and playfully punches Bailey when he agrees. Lauren walks out with the washing and starts eavesdropping. Bailey says he had no right to exclude Paige as she is as much a part of the family as he is. Paige apologises for being pushy with the money, she's seen what it does to families and would hate that to happen to theirs. She understands why Bailey wants to pay towards his education, it's his dream and he shouldn't give up on that. He says she's a good big sister, and they hug, as Lauren smiles while watching. Lauren asks them to help with the washing. They make excuses and leave, while Lauren laughs.

Number 30
Karl visits Toadie to discuss Erin. She's worried that she's blown it with Cat, and Karl wonders if he can pass on a letter from Erin to Cat, it would really help Erin. Karl was there when she wrote the letter, there's nothing damaging in there. Toadie thinks Erin has done enough damage to Cat already, but Karl thinks Erin should be able to turn her life around. Karl thinks re-establishing a relationship with her daughter is the key to Erin's recovery. Karl this she deserves a second chance.

(Later)
Toadie informs Sonya of his discussion with Karl about the letter. Toadie thinks that too many alarm bells have gone off that maybe they should stop and listen to them.

SONYA: She really wants this Jarrod.
TOADIE: Yeah and I really want to drive a monster truck to work, but I shouldn't do that. What an addict wants and what an addict gets are two very different things.

Sonya thinks she's been clean for a while, she's in the program and she's promised to stop having a go at her and Toadie. Toadie asks if Erin doesn't stop, if Sonya would be willing to go through that again, and Sonya says she will if it means reuniting Erin with her daughter. Sonya is going to give the letter to Cat.

Men's Shed
Karl stops by to see Brad during his run to see how the surfboard making is going. Karl puts down his bottle of water, which by an amazing coincidence is identical to the unmarked bottle filled with surfboard chemicals. Brad offers to make Karl a board if he wants to learn how to surf. Karl declines the offer, and tells Brad he'll see him later, picking up the wrong bottle of water on the way out.

Number 32
Paige and Bailey are folding laundry, commenting on Lauren leaving it there for them as a crafty move. Matt and Lauren ask them to have a seat as they need to talk. Lauren says she missed that they were all growing up, they can solve their own arguments and make decisions about their own future. She put the brakes on the sale as it scared the life out of her that her kids were growing up. But she's changed her mind, she wants to buy the house them and on their terms. They've already spoken to Mason about it, and Lauren will catch up with Amber at work (she seems too unimportant to feature in this episode.) The paperwork is on standby and as soon as the kids give the green light they can make it official. Matt reserves the right to nag the kids and offer them financial advice. Bailey says they can just ignore it as usual, but promises to hear them out. They shake hands as Matt heads to work. Lauren sighs and Paige asks if she's okay.

LAUREN: I think I might be suffering from empty nest syndrome.
PAIGE: Don't worry, we will be here to annoy you for years after our welcome. It's really nice that you even care about how we're spending the money. It's nice that you care at all really.
LAUREN: It's not you I'm worrying about.
BAILEY: (jokingly) Oh hello Vegas. I mean, Bellagio anyone?

Men's Shed
Terese returns, having raced through the meeting with Paul in order to be back in time for the next tea break. Brad just needs to finish adding a layer of resin catalyst, but when he pours it on nothing happens. He smells the bottle and realises its water. He looks for the other bottle, before realising that Karl must have picked up the wrong bottle. He picks up the phone and calls Karl's mobile.

Lassiters Car Park
Karl jogs past the car park and takes out his phone, declining the call from Brad. He says hi to Matt who's leaving his car and asks how the jog is going.

Men's Shed
Brad leaves Karl and answer phone message, warning Karl to not drink the water.

Lassiters Car Park
Karl and Matt finish chatting, Matt warns Karl not to guzzle the water if he wants to avoid a stitch. As Matt heads to work, Karl jogs towards the lake, stopping for a moment to drink. He takes a drink before dropping the bottle, coughing, while clutching his throat in pain.
