No 22
A dishevelled Imogen arrives home, clearly annoyed.
BRAD: Did something happen?
IMOGEN: Amber Turner happened.
No 32
Lauren is surprised to hear that Amber started the fight, but Amber says Imogen wouldn't accept her apology.
No 22
Imogen says she's not sorry for speaking her mind.
No 32
Amber is reluctant to say anything, so Paige says that Imogen mentioned that she (Paige) was the favourite daughter. Amber tells her to keep out of it, so Paige adds they have a fantastic relationship.
No 22
Terese comments to Imogen that it's unlike both of them, and asks who else was there. Imogen says Daniel... and Paige. Terese is annoyed at that, and says she wants to get to the bottom of what's happening.
Harold's
Bailey is reading a book about public speaking in preparation for the story slam. Lou tells him to forget the theory, and concentrate on the practical.
LOU: The timbre of your voice. The projection of your voice. And of course, body language, facial expressions, and, of course, proper use of...
Bailey looks at him quizzically to see if he's turned into Georgia.
LOU: ...pauses for dramatic effect.
Matt has different advice: he should stick to the facts, stay calm, and make eye contact with the judges. Lou leaves to sort out his outfit. Bailey is panicking a bit, saying that he just wanted to feel more confident about the panel interview. Matt reassures him.
MATT: First stop, story slam. Next stop, NASA.
Men's Shed
Josh and Naomi are pashing on a couch, with Naomi complaining about a spring in her back. They hear someone at the door and go "upstairs" to hide. It's Lou, looking for his hat, which coincidentally, he has left just by where Naomi and Josh are hiding. Josh throws it down to him. Lou asks if anyone's there... and when nobody answers, he assumes it's a sign. Yes, the hat just landed on the floor by itself. Nobody threw it down. A-MAZ-ING. Josh is ready to carry on where he left off, but Naomi says the mood has been killed. They agree they can't afford a hotel room.
NAOMI: Until we find a place that is safe and free and preferably doesn't require a BYO blanket, then we're just gonna have to hold off.
Frustrated, Josh agrees.
No 22
Brad, Terese, Lauren and Paige are having a crisis meeting. Lauren says that Amber admits starting the fight, but only after Imogen said some harsh things. Terese says that Imogen admitted that. So far, so good. But she continues, saying that neither of the girls are violent and she can't understand how it escalated into a fight. All the time she's looking at Paige. Paige shrugs and agrees with her.
PAIGE: My presence... no, my very existence made them both snap, even though they've been fighting for weeks. It all comes down to me.
Paige leaves, and Lauren tells Terese that it's not Paige's fault, whatever she says. She suggests that both girls need to apologise and they should work on getting their respective daughters to do so. After Lauren leaves, Brad asks Terese about what she did.
TERESE: She's the one with the criminal history. And if that's rubbing off on Imogen then we both have something to be concerned about.
No 32
Lauren tells Daniel and Amber that Terese blames Paige for the fight. She asks Amber to apologise to Imogen, and Amber refuses.
Waterhole
A crowd has gathered for the story slam, and a panicky Bailey is still writing his story. Sheila tells him to add some jokes. Lou arrives and says something in Australian which I didn't understand. Susan opens the event, and Lou is the first contestant.
Harold's
Josh meets Imogen and tells her he wants some alone time. He doesn't want to go to the story slam and hear more about her fight with Amber. He just wants to let it go. She gets het up and talks about how hypocritical Daniel is.
JOSH: Are you jealous or something?
IMOGEN: What? J... jealous?
JOSH: Because when you like a guy, you do this weird thing where you get all abusive towards them.
IMOGEN: No, I don't.
JOSH: Yes you do. Yes you do. You did it to Mason - paid out on him when all you wanted to do was jump his bones.
Imogen denies it, so Josh tells her to stop talking about it.
Waterhole
Lou is telling his story. Sheila and Naomi are bored. He claims he's just getting to the "good bit" when he runs out of time. Susan calls on Matt, hoping he's got an "arresting story". Matt starts his story, and Naomi gets a text from Josh. She tells Sheila it's from a friend, and that she's finally getting over everything with Toadie.
SHEILA: That's great love, especially knowing you've got over it without running into the arms of another man. Means you're finally maturing.
Matt has to say "The End" to let everyone know his story is finished. There's polite applause. Susan calls Bailey, but he's not ready, so she calls for volunteers. Amber and Daniel walk in, and Imogen volunteers.
IMOGEN: It's about a girl who betrayed everyone who was close to her. Let's call her... Smurfette. To look at her, you'd think she was the sweetest girl in the world. But then she met a boy. Let's call him... Skater Smurf.
Terese arrives as Imogen continues her tale about Amber and Daniel. Meanwhile Sheila gets a phone call saying that Kyle and Chris have gone out. Naomi texts Josh telling him to meet her at no 26 in 10 minutes.
Ramsay Street
Brad apologises on behalf of Terese to Lauren and Paige. Lauren asks if Terese has changed her tune. Brad says she'll calm down and that Paige was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Paige comments that she can't use that excuse in court. After Paige goes, Lauren asks Brad if Terese has reconsidered, and he says they should deal with one problem at a time.
Waterhole
Imogen is winding up her story, the moral being that an apparently trustworthy person can still stab you in the back. There's a deathly hush and Susan comments it was more a rant than a story. Since Bailey still isn't ready, Amber volunteers.
AMBER: Hi, I'm Amber Turner. But sometimes, some people like to call me Smurfette. And yes, it's true, I cheated on my boyfriend. But in breaking up with him, I also broke up with his sister and my best friend, Imogen Willis.
SHEILA: It's getting a bit Jerry Springer in here, isn't it?
Amber continues to apologise, and meanwhile Susan comes to encourage Bailey to tell his story, giving him advice on breathing and being in the moment. Amber finishes up:
AMBER: I really, really miss you and I hope there's a small part of you that misses me too.
(Amber and Daniel leave and Terese comes over to Imogen)
TERESE: You should go after them and say you're sorry.
IMOGEN: No, she only did all that to make me look like the bad guy.
TERESE: Imogen, from what I've seen, you ARE the bad guy.
Harold's
Daniel tells Amber she was really brave. Imogen comes in and Daniel leaves. Imogen tells Amber that she doesn't want to be horrible anymore, but she doesn't want to be friends either. So she says that she wants to buy Amber's share of Hermione, and she'd rather not have lawyers involved. Amber is left gobsmacked by this demonstration of "not horrible anymore".
Waterhole
Lauren arrives just in time to hear Bailey start his story, which he does with a joke Sheila gave him. He says he wants to be commander of the International Space Station. The audience all listen attentively as he talks.
BAILEY: This isn't the end of my story. It's just the beginning.
Everyone applauds and cheers. Matt and Lou bicker over whose advice Bailey took.
No 26
Josh, who is just wearing shorts, carries Naomi out of the bedroom into the kitchen. Naomi tells him he should "ditch the tatty shorts", so he does. They hear Sheila's voice at the door, so Naomi tells him to go, but it's too late to pick up his shorts. Sheila complains about the boys leaving their laundry on the table. Naomi grabs them and throws them in the laundry room.
No 26 garden
Josh is standing at the side of the house, with Bossy strategically positioned in the garden. Josh asks her what she's looking at...
