- Kyle suggesting that they have a memorial service for the baby.
- Lauren telling Georgia about losing her baby.
- Lauren calling her mum to say she is going to tell Matt/Brad about her baby.
Ramsay Street
Georgia thanks Lauren for the words she said to her last week and offers herself as a listener if Lauren wishes to talk about her loss.
Lauren then sees a taxi pull up to her driveway - her mum has arrived!
Number 32
Lauren assists her mum carrying in her luggage (and pressies) commenting that it she'd know about the visit they'd have re-organised their schedules. The kids spot Grandma and rush to hug her before going off to use their new pressies - iPads! They pass Lou on the way to their rooms and he does a double take at his ex-wife.
LOU: Oh streuth, I've died and gone to hell.
KATHY: You look very much alive to me Louis although gravity's taken its toll.
The pair start squabbling and Lou asks if he can assist in taking in any more of her belonging, "like your broomstick," before Lauren tries to intervene and to confirm that her mum is indeed going to be staying at the house.
Harold's Store
Lauren has taken her mum into the store and they discuss the phone call but Kathy feels that after all this time, it should be kept quiet.
Hospital
Amber calls to subtly ask Karl for some advice/information about the pills she found Josh with but without of course mentioning his name however you get the impression that he knows exactly who she is referring to although later on they stop the pretence.
Karl dispels the myth that all traces will be gone from their system and that "he could be in real trouble." He also mentions possible adverse effects that may yet not have appeared yet, which could also last longer. "What do I do?" she asks and Karl's reply is that he can't do anything without seeing Josh and adds that if she really cares for him then she needs to tell his family.
Number 30
Susan calls over and can't but notice that Georgia is staring at the rose bush Kyle brought over. Georgia unloads that she isn't amused at him wanting to have a memorial service as she feels he is hijacking how she's supposed to be dealing with things.
GEROGIA: This is his way, it's not necessarily mine.
Susan suggests that it might be cathartic and not just for her and mentions that she is concerned about Kyle as she hasn't see him at work and thinks he's not left the house either. "I had no idea," Georgia replies looking concerned and confirms to Susan that she hasn't spoken to him about this but "I guess it's probably time that I did."
Charlie's
Sheila and Kathy are acquainting themselves to each other and their mutual "hatred" of Lou when the man in question enters the bar.
LOU: (to Sheila) Do not take any notice of anything this woman says about me and you (to Kathy) ignore everything she says.
He then asks his ex if she has to be everywhere he is and is told to stop following her! Kathy leaves and Lou warns Bailey not to repeat his mistakes, "this is what happens when you marry the second woman you fall in love with."
SHEILA: The second?! What happened to the first?!
She's told to stop stickybeaking by Lou and promptly leaves them to it and Bailey starts asking him questions about his marriage to Kathy, well more about how they can still be angry at each other after all these years. Eventually Lou explains why - she refused to talk to him at his parents wedding! "That's it?!" Bailey asks and Lou adds that she "couldn't let bygones be bygones for one day." The lad still doesn't believe him and Lou's reply is that he tried to warm him what she was like!
Lassiters Complex
Amber sits weighing up whether she should tell or not.
Dingoes gym
Josh thinks that Amber has come to see him when he spots her entering the gym and asks that she gives him 10 minutes to finish off before they go get some lunch. Thinking quickly on her feet, she knocks back the lunch offer citing schoolwork and only popped in to see how he was going. "Relax," he replies and explains that while his shoulder is hurting, he's only taking the meds Karl prescribed and is working through the pain but reassures her that he is handling it.
JOSH: It's all good, I've got you looking out for me.
AMBER: Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing.
"You know that I love you," she asks (he does) and adds that she hopes he remembers that "no matter what." Brad interrupts their chat to tell Josh he's done enough and to hit the shower, and when he goes to shower, Amber tells Brad that there is something she needs to tell him about Josh.
Hospital
Brad, Terese and Josh are seeing Karl at the hospital. Josh explains that he doesn't have any of the dodgy meds left as he washed them down the sink, so Karl is going to arrange for tests to be done to discover what it was exactly that he took. He's also going to get a scan of the shoulder to see if there is any damage done caused by overworking when he was taking the dodgy meds.
Brad can't believe how stupid his son has been especially give he's due a medical for the team and like earlier, Karl dismisses the myth that they'd be gone from Josh's system.
BRAD: Why take them at all?
JOSH: BECAUSE I HAD TO STAY ON THE TEAM ALRIGHT! Look, my shoulder hurts so much I was losing fitness. I didn't pace myself like you said, I overdid it and I hurt myself again but I couldn't stop training so I needed something to dull the pain. I know how stupid it was.
BRAD: Yes well it's a bit too late to realise that now.
JOSH: I KNOW OKAY! I SHOULD NEVER HAVE GONE ABSEILING IN THE FIRST PLACE, I SHOULD NEVER HAVE PUSHED MYSELF AFTER I GOT INJURED, I SHOULD NEVER HAVE TAKEN THE PILLS, I SHOULD NEVER HAVE DONE ANY OF IT BUT GIVING UP SWIMMING IS NOT AN OPTION. It's who I am; it's what I've worked for towards my entire life. Without swimming, I have nothing. I am nothing.
Number 30
Kyle enters the house looking pretty dishevelled and goes all quiet when Georgia brings up Susan saying he'd not been into work. She walks round to where the rose bush is and thanks him for it and thinks it would be a lovely idea to have a ceremony and plant it. He seems a bit taken aback after hearing that and when she suggests they do it today.
Number 22
"I don't want to see you," Josh tells Amber when he answers the door and discovers who the caller was. She enters the house regardless and reminds him of what they agreed earlier (that they'd love each other no matter what) but looks like dobbing is an exception! Amber tries to explain why she did it but he's not listening and tries to blame her for being out of the games.
AMBER: I didn't make you take them.
He still thinks that he'd have been clean in time for the medical and she brings up that he doesn't know that. "You never gave me the chance," is his comeback and if the tests the hospital run show banned substances then he won't be allowed to compete. "You should have thought of that before you took them in the first place," she tearfully points out but he's not listening to that, instead asking why she didn't trust him when he said he'd stopped taking them. She replies that she knows how much pain he's been in but he again thinks it's because she doesn't trust him.
AMBER: This was never the way to fix it.
JOSH: NEITHER WAS TELLING MY DAD. And if this is your idea of love and support then I can do without thank you. I will never ever, EVER, forgive you for this.
"GET OUT," he then yells at a crying Amber as he makes his way upstairs.
Number 32
Bailey temporarily stops looking for a restaurant to go for supper (Kathy is treating them all, minus Lou) to try and find out why his grandparents are bickering and mentions what Lou said to him, but she is quick to say that its him who didn't speak to her. Lauren arrives home and sends Bailey off to clean his room up and when she hears the discussion and suggests to her mum that she takes the kids and Lou out so she can talk to Matt.
KATHY: What good would come of that?
Lauren's take is that both men deserve to know but Kathy doesn't think she should rock the boat, especially her marriage. "It's not a good marriage if I'm lying to him mum," she responds with. Kathy tries going down the route of her being reminded what with Brad living in the street but Lauren replies that it was Georgia losing her baby that brought back her memories. Their chat about it is curtailed when a very upset Amber arrives home and they both comfort her after she briefly says why she's upset.
(Later)
Bailey drags his Grandfather in to see his Grandma but Lou is more taken by the fact she's found her broomstick! Not really though, she's sweeping the kitchen floor and threatens to put it somewhere if he continues in that vein!
BAILEY: Do you two have any idea how ridiculous you are being?
This is met by silence and when he brings up his parents wedding, both deny giving the opposite the cold shoulder but it eventually emerges that Lou didn't recognise Kathy giving him a programme because she'd a hat on!
LOU: I hated you as much as you hated me.
KATHY: For the record, I didn't hate you... I just couldn't live with you.
LOU: Same goes for me.
Bailey makes a retreat from the battlefield as the pair of them now seem to be getting on much better.
Number 30 backyard
Kyle and Georgia are joined by Susan, Sheila, Callum, Sonya and Toadie for the very emotional memorial service.
GEORGIA: All of the friends and family gathered here today would have been a big part of your life but sadly today we have to say goodbye. Whenever we're in this special place, whenever we see this rose, we'll remember you. You will always be with us.
KYLE: It would have been so good to meet you but I reckon I got a fair idea of what you would have been like. Always on the go, into everything, running around the backyard with Bossy always getting into trouble, like me.
Kyle then throws his single (red) rose and a little Carlton football before the others put their red roses/mementoes in too as Georgia speaks again.
GEORGIA: I wish that I could have had the chance to know you, to travel through life with you, to be with you every single step of the way but even though you can't be by my side, I will always carry you with me in my heart 'cos you are my precious baby and I love you so much.
Number 30
Both Kyle and Georgia thank each other for the day, it seems to have been good for both of them and he suggests that they go for coffee and is shocked to hear that Georgia has turned him down because she is going back to work. She explains that the ceremony was so they could go forward and (him) staying at home isn't going to do any good. "I know," he replies and she adds that it's not easy for her either but she's trying to get back to some sense of normality and suggests he does the same too!
Number 32
Kathy tries to tempt Lauren into joining her for supper but she's insistent she wants to tell Matt so she can go back to where she lost the baby and close that chapter of her life and without him knowing she can't do that. "Then you're going to have to tell the whole truth," Kathy tells her daughter, which puzzles Lauren because that is what she wants to do.
KATHY: You don't know all of it.
Lauren gives her mum a puzzled look.
KATHY: Your daughter wasn't stillborn, she survived.
LAUREN: ...
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Lauren not happy at her mum lying.
- Kathy trying unsuccessfully to explain herself.
- Lou stunned at finding out his daughter was pregnant.
- Lauren telling all to Matt.
