Previously on Neighbours
- Imogen deciding she wants to be with Mason.
- Mark curious about the CCTV at the garage.
- Georgia trying to plan for baby related purchases.
- Georgia informing Kyle she's moving home to her parents.
Number 30
Georgia is taken by the baby-gro Kyle has made with his work logo on it before he pleads with her to change her mind about going home but her mind isn't for changing as she feels she's to do right for the baby.
Charlie's
Kyle is a bit peeved his grandma isn't as sympathetic as he hoped she would be, but she can see both sides of the argument. He pleads that he's willing to meet the costs of raising bubs (as part of his argument that he can support Georgia/bubs) but Sheila isn't being totally convinced.
KYLE: I'm not letting her go.
SHEILA: Then what you going to do about it?!
Kyle doesn't have an answer and Sheila hints that if perhaps Georgia saw more stability here then she may reconsider.
Number 22
Imogen and Mason are making good use of having the house to themselves for a smooch but Mason breaks it off because he's worried about them being outed especially given the court case her parents are bringing against him. She feels that the court case will be dropped once her dad calms down but Mason doesn't think so and he will always be remembered as the one who got Josh hurt unless he/they can find some way of proving he wasn't responsible.
Charlie's
Mark comes into the bar to tell Chris that he's been digging around and discovered that it's only their garage that has CCTV cameras, and is even more curious now. Chris is however even less interested than before and reminds him he needs to turn his detective brain off!
When Chris heads to the bar to place his order, Sheila quizzes him if he's seen Kyle at the yard (he hasn't) as she wanted to know if he took her advice.
Harold's Store
However it looks like he has as he is putting up flyers for his business and potentially has a job lined up straight away when Susan mentions she is after some work to be done at the school. He then tries to set himself up with a contract to be the official school caretaker when it came up during their conversation that the school didn't have a permanent caretaker who would normally carry out minor repair works.
Garage
Danni seems a bit shaken up/worried about a job that Chris has taken on and stresses to him the importance of clearing all potential work with her first. He thinks she's just highly strung through too many coffees but Mark looks like he has his detective hat on again!
Dial-a-Kyle/Garage forecourt
Kyle tells Chris about the potential caretaker job and is taken aback by how negative he is about it - he thinks Kyle will never see his kid as he is too busy providing for it despite Kyle reassuring him that he will manage.
Number 30
Georgia is over the moon with the cute booties Susan has brought round for her. While she is there, she gets a bid from Kyle for the caretaker job and tells Georgia about it, who seems semi-pleased with the information.
Garage
Chris is a bit bemused when Danni seems to freak out when the guy with the booking Chris took, comes by to collect his car. He leaves to deal with the customer and Mark quizzes Danni on why she seems scared and she reveals that she thought the customer was her ex (they have the same surname). "An ex that likes to use his hands?" Mark asks and Danni confirms it and tells him that the ex won't believe it's over. He's correctly now twigged why there is CCTV and Danni adds that the ex doesn't know where she works, just that she is a mechanic, and got her mum to agree to keeping the garage as Fitzgerald Motors so the ex couldn't track her down. Danni scoffs when Mark suggests getting an AVO because she's already got one and it isn't doing much good. He offers his services to protect her (and tells her he's ex-police) but she's obviously been bitten before by someone changing their mind about helping as she doesn't accept his offer.
Harold's Store
Imogen suggests to Mason he asks Mark for help in clearing his name when they spot him come into the store. Hesitantly, Mason approaches him but Mark isn't interested so Imogen butts in to plead for his help.
Number 32
Mason is surprised (but pleased) by the 360 from Mark although he does warn him about getting his hopes up. Before they leave, Mason apologises for being a tool when they first met because he knows Kate still has feelings for Mark, which he seems slightly taken aback by.
Number 30
Kyle is round to tell Georgia that with his new job (Susan has confirmed he's got the position) he can fully provide for her/bubs. "That's really great," she nonchalantly replies and he asks if he's done something wrong and she replies no, then quizzes I'm if the caretaker job is something he really wants.
KYLE: Doesn't matter what I want, what matters is I'm going to be a parent. Parents make sacrifices, it's part of the gig!
GEORGIA: ...
KYLE: Georgia, I will do whatever it takes to provide for my child.
She now agrees with him but feels he is going to be taking on too much and is going to end up having no life - the last thing she wants to happen.
KYLE: But the last thing I want is for you to leave Erinsborough.
Georgia then suggests they do a deal - she will stay in Erinsborough if he just stays with Dial-A-Kyle. He's a bit surprised at her deal but she thinks as long as they have him, they can make it work.
GEORGIA: You're right, you're the father of this baby and you deserve to be in its life... even if we're not together as a couple.
Charlie's
Sheila is happy to hear about the deal Kyle has struck with Georgia and he confesses he's relived not to have to take on the caretaker role too! She now has a new mission - to reunite them and Kyle agrees he isn't giving up on getting back with her but just needs to be careful about how he plays it.
Ramsay Street
Mark wants to hear from Mason exactly what happened on that fateful day. He explains that after Josh changed his mind about doing it, he had to re-set up all the gear again (he'd packed up after Josh originally said no). Continuing, he says that he connected the carabineer to Josh's harness and shut the gate before turning to check the anchor was secure (it was) however before he got back to the edge, Josh had already gone over and a couple of seconds the rope slackened and he hit the deck. Mason confirms he is positive he shut the gate when Mark questions him and adds that it was all connected up right, just like for when he did it for Imogen/himself.
MARK: It doesn't make sense.
MASON: That's the way it happened.
After hearing what Mason has told him, Mark concludes that the only thing that explains it is operator error.
MASON: So you're telling me I could be held responsible?
MARK: Looks that way.
Mason pleads that there has to be another explanation as they pull away from Ramsay Street.
Accident site
Mark and Mason are back at the site of the accident and Mark finds something significant - a piece of the carabineer. "It snapped?" Mason asks hopingly and Mark tells him not to get his hopes up but if it was from the equipment they used it could explain why Josh fell.
Charlie's
"Is this thing really that important?" Imogen asks while examining the broken carabineer and Mark replies that it's an integral part, but fragile, so if it had been dropped at any point, it could explain why it shattered. Mason's theory is that the hire company swapped carabineers that were provided to the police to examine to cover their backsides. "You're off the hook," Imogen tells him but Mark says it's not that simple and Mason explains that it's just a theory. It all makes sense to Imogen though, the hire company looking after their back, "but proving it won't be easy," Mark adds.
MASON: Don't get your hopes up. If we can't convince your dad, nothing changes; your family will still believe I'm the one who did it.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
