Number 32
Lucy wonders how Lauren managed to keep the baby news quiet all these years and she explains that it was too hard to talk or even think about so kept it buried where it was easier to deal with it until Brad moved across the road! She confirms too that Matt doesn't know either. Their conversation is quickly ceased when Mason, Imogen then Matt come into the living room and chat turns to the hunt for Gem/Georgia. Mason is concerned what Gem might to do Kate (Matt mentioned shed gone looking for them) and isn't happy that his dad is more than happy for the local police to deal with it.
Road somewhere
Kate and Chris have arrived at the gate to the cottage where the girls were staying but it seems that to get to the actual cottage youve to go up a dirt track so they split up to follow the options there seems to be.
Cottage
Kate has picked the right road but finds the door locked when she arrives. She gives the door a few shoulder shoves and eventually it gives way and she goes immediately to the unconscious Georgia just as Toadie/Kyle pull up at the gate too.
When Kate enters she is coughing (due to the gas) and goes to switch the source off as well as opening up the windows. Chris/Kyle arrive just as Kate is assessing Georgia and as they turn her onto her side, she starts to come to. Wheres Gem? she asks and the four of them (Toadie is now there too) nervously look around the place.
(Later)
The paramedics have arrived to check Georgia and Kate out. The one checking Georgia out mentions her having a bump on the head and she is quick to say that it was an accident. He wants to them to stop yakking so he can get her to hospital to be properly checked over. Toadie gives an update from the police that despite what Gem told Georgia (that the car wasnt working) shes taken off in it but the police are on the lookout for both. He also says that it was down to Kate that they found her but all Georgia does is give her an evil stare before the paramedic pushes her out in the chair to the waiting ambulance.
Number 32
Lauren thanks Imogen for tidying up as they wait for news, which Matt gets and updates them Gem has done a runner in Georgias car and about the head injury shes sustained too. Mason is relieved to hear that Kate is fine and Imogen takes that as her cue to head home, with Mason showing her out.
Matt comments to his wife that it was a pity that Lucy had to leave so soon and that it must have been nice for her catching up on old times Lauren remains quiet at that point!
Number 22
Brad/Terese finish a Skype conversation with their other daughter Piper who is not coming home from Canada for Christmas. Terese then tells Brad about the joke she had with Lauren/Lucy (although they didnt find it funny) about having flings with him back in ye olden days.
BRAD: Terese!
TERESE: Hey, if I'm alright with it, she should be okay with it.
Brad mentions that Lucy was asking him questions, so remarks that perhaps Lauren has had enough although Terese thinks its more to do with Matt as hes not Mr Relaxed at the moment. He reassures her that he will drop in on Lauren tomorrow and find out what the problem is.
Number 26
The trio arrive back and Kate is planning on crashing too so she doesn't need to wake Paul up and explain to him. Chris heads off to bed and Kyle thanks Kate for her superhero role in rescuing Georgia although when he adds that if it werent for her, he might have lost her, Kate suddenly decides its bedtime.
Number 30 (next day)
Georgia is back and gets a warm hug from Sonya. She is very down and decides to forfeit the offer of brekkie to get some sleep.
Toadie is after much needed sleep too and Sonya breaks it to him that Elliot is still there and shows him the message she got from Jacob I'm sorry but need some time. I don't know how long. Ill be in touch.
TOADIE: Hes dumped his kid on us?!
Toad wants to get the police involved but Sonya thinks that Jacob will be back as soon as his head is sorted out and if they contact the police, everyone will get involved and it will be out of their hands.
TOADIE: I don't even know why its in our hands!
Sonya pleads for him to give Jacob the benefit of the doubt and he agrees but mainly because hes so tired but does hope that hes back soon!
Number 26
Kate swithers about going over to see Georgia and Chris tells her to go for it. Kyle enters the kitchen having a conversation with Sonya and reports to them once hes hung up that Georgia is fine and shes resting.
Harold's Store
Brad stops by as promised to check things are okay with Lauren and she reassures him all is fine and leaves when Laurens phone begins to ring.
Lassiters Lake/Rotunda
It was Lucy that was on the phone and they meet up at the lake to continue their chat. Lauren explains that she didnt realise that she was pregnant until she was 6 months along and that she got lazy with contraception after the docs said shed have a very low chance of conceiving thanks to her pelvic inflammatory disease diagnosis. She adds that by the time she realised, Brad was already married to Beth and given they were so happy, felt she couldnt ruin that. Lauren also says that she didnt tell her dad in case Brad found out via his family so went to her mum in Brisbane. Mum was great, she says and was totally there for her.
LAUREN: But it was a difficult birth, and there were complications, and I lost the baby. She was a little girl.
LUCY: Oh Lauren, I'm so sorry.
LAUREN: Afterwards, I was just a mess and the only way I could deal with it was to just pretend that it never happened.
LUCY: Thats understandable.
LAUREN: Anyway, soon after I went to visit a friend in Mount Isa, just to get away from everything, and that's when I met Matt. And a crazy, impetuous one night stand turned into almost 20 years of happiness.
Lauren then explains that there was never the right time to tell Matt.
LAUREN: The longer you leave it, the harder it gets but I never forgot.
Lauren shows her the teddy (that was on the tree) as her way of remembering her little girl.
LUCY: That must have been so difficult.
LAUREN: It really was. It was but I managed until I saw Brad again and now every time I see his face, I just think of our baby and he has no idea.
Lauren now totally breaks down and Lucy comforts her as we head into the commercial break.
Number 30
Toadie is awoken from his sleep as Elliot is screaming the house down and Sonya doesn't know what to do as shes tried everything. She is quick to rule out Toadies suggestion that hes sick, simply unsettled. Hes then quick to get a dig in that its through being abandoned before the pair of them have a domestic over it but Sonya makes it clear that she is going to help Jacob.
Lassiters Rotunda
We now discover why Lauren wanted to hide the sketch she drew of Brad she did that when she was pregnant.
LAUREN: No matter what I did, that sketch still kept coming back! Its as if the universe was trying to remind me of my baby.
LUCY: And you couldnt tell anyone about it.
Lauren then tells Lucy of the dreams she then started to have. Lucy asks why she didnt tell Brad and Lauren replies how do you have that conversation! She also adds that they both have families now and what good could come out of it? Look at the effect its having on you, Lucy points out and Lauren explains that talking with her and her mum has helped although Lucy adds that there is obviously still some unresolved issues before she has to leave as work calls (shes got a meeting with Terese before leaving for New York). Lucy promises not to say anything but thinks that she should consider telling them or at the very least Matt. They agree to keep in touch before Lucy heads off to see Terese.
Number 30
Karl finishes giving Georgia a check over and dishes out the medical advice before he swaps places with the newly arrived Kyle. Kyle asks how she is and she gives him a medial reply first before adding that Gem totally duped her and that she can't believe Gem left her there for dead.
GEORGIA: I didnt see that one coming.
KYLE: Because you didnt want to see it?
Georgia explains that growing up, Gem was her idol and that as they grew older she started doing strange things but always gave her the benefit of the doubt. Kyle remarks that he loves how she seems to see the good in people and of course she then gets her dig in about Gem not being the only person she was blind to! That wipes the smile off Kyles face and asks that while he gets she has every right to be annoyed at him, can she move past it?
GEORGIA:
KYLE: Georgia I love you and I want to be with you. Doesn't that mean anything?
Georgia doesnt answer his question, instead tells him that she is tired and wants to rest. Georgia please? he begs but she totally ignores him so he leaves the house.
Ramsay Street
Kate is walking up the street with some flowers for Georgia when she runs into her as she comes to check the mail. Surprisingly, Georgia actually takes the flowers and comments that she should be the one giving her the flowers after what happened.
Kate explains that shes done some stupid things in her life but none more so than what happened with Kyle.
KATE: It was a huge mistake Georgia. I never meant to hurt you, you have to believe that.
GEORGIA: I do. I do believe you and I can't thank you enough for last night.
KATE: Because I care about you.
GEORGIA: I'm so grateful but I can't get over what you did. I'm sorry, I've tried but I can't. I mean obviously well still be polite and wave when we see each other on the street. As for being friends again [she pushes the flowers Kate gave back to her] I'm sorry but I can't.
