Previously on Neighbours
- Lucas suggesting to Vanessa they sell up and move to the country.
- Vanessa being offered a deal for a quick annulment.
- Susan telling the Willises that Josh is struggling at school.
- Paul warning Georgia about the consequences of breaking her contract.
- Sheila annoyed at the Kennedy animals wrecking her backyard and describing them as pests not animals.
Number 26
Sheila orders Kyle to bill Karl for repairing the fence since it was his animals that caused the damage. She is still rather annoyed at them too and tells Kyle that the only place she wants to see Lennie or Chop is on her BBQ... and even has the marinade ready!
Number 30
Despite it being the middle of the afternoon, Paul awakens Georgia from her sleep to tell her she has a meeting to attend. Given she has just woken up and still has bed hair she is reluctant to do so until Paul explains it's with a record company! That gets her moving and she rushes off to change out of her PJ's.
Lucas and Vanessa's flat
The happy couple are back from honeymoon to their flat although Lucas thinks they should have gone to the new apartment instead. They then get a bit of sods law - an email back from the other bidder for the apartment (Vanessa emailed to ask if they were still interested) saying they will buy it off them and at the price they paid too since it was the last one! Vanessa replies to them saying that they are no longer interested (thanks to that $100,000).
Number 26
Georgia is telling Kyle about her meeting with the record company and all that it involves including tours! He thinks she is going to be taking on too much as well as trying to do her nursing.
Number 22
Josh is arguing with his mum over her plans to get him a tutor, so he comes up with the solution of quitting school and going back to studying later like his dad did. Terese is aghast at that suggestion and even Brad tries to talk him out of it but looks like neither side wants to budge.
Ramsay Street
Kyle passes on the bill to Karl for repairing the fence and despite a big intake of breath, takes the bill willingly. As he is heading into the house, he inadvertently stands on some poo... pig poo and panics because both Chop and Lennie are nowhere to be seen having escaped from #28.
Harold's Store
Terese talks over Josh's intentions with Susan and she still thinks getting a tutor is the best thing and even volunteers to do it herself if Terese doesn't want to use any of the people she could come up with.
Meanwhile, Vanessa and Lucas don't seem as keen on their new apartment now they have access to it plus discover some repairs are needed too. He leaves to take a call when Susan/Terese come over to ask about the honeymoon. Vanessa tells them all about visiting some cottage that was open for inspection and they dropped in for a stickybeak. The ladies leave when Lucas returns a bit perplexed about the call he just took - someone has just called to make an offer on the garage!
Lassiters Park
Vanessa and Lucas sit in the park having lunch discussing the weirdness of getting two great offers just as they manage to sort themselves out financially. Lucas thinks it might be a good time to change their lives and Vanessa confesses that since his initial suggestion of them moving to the countryside, she can't stop thinking about doing just that! She then shows him the pictures of the cottage they saw in Daylesford and turns out Lucas has been thinking about that place too however their conversation is rudely interrupted when they hear Lennie and Chop nearby! Thankfully Lucas thinks he knows who owns then and gets his phone out to make a call.
Charlie's
Karl comes calling to accuse Sheila of being the one to let his animals out. She denies it totally and points out the gate can only be opened from the inside when he gets a call from Susan saying that they have been found down by the lake.
KARL: Ha, ha, foiled!
Lassiters Park
Susan watches over Chop while Karl tries (and fails) to find Lennie. He is still insistent that it was Sheila who let them out and Susan tries to talk him into putting them to a pet farm but he's having done of it... and is still blaming Sheila!
SUSAN: Could have been someone body else.
KARL: Oh yes really like who?
SUSAN: Like me!
Turns out Susan accidentally forgot to check if the gate was locked when she left in a hurry this morning. Oops!
Charlie's
Kyle comes to see Paul to enquire about the extent of Georgia's contract and if it means she's tied 24/7 to whatever Paul wants.
PAUL: Yes pretty much. Kyle, I'm not some kid mucking around on the internet here. This involves money and Georgia is my investment.
Kyle tries to explain that her love is nursing and Paul is happy for her to continue that as long as the music takes the priority and he'll sue if she tries to break the contract. Paul seems impressed that Kyle is on the lookout to protect her and he agrees to look at how much she is doing, after all it's his reputation that's on the line too as well as his money.
Number 22
Terese tells Brad about her meeting with Susan and while he agrees that is preferable, he knows that Josh really wants to swim as that is his dream and is going to resent every minute of tutoring that holds him back from training. She tries to think of what happens if his swimming career suddenly finishes reminding Brad that he found it difficult to get back into studying.
Josh arrives home to hear that the tutoring is going to go ahead and is severely peeved to find out that it is no longer up for discussion. He appeals to his dad but Brad backs his wife up and gives Josh the choice - take up the tutoring offering or quit swimming.
BRAD: It's your choice.
Number 26
The Kennedys are around and Susan forces Karl to apologise to Sheila. Susan then admits that it was her who left the gate open after being in too much of a rush.
SUSAN: So we're both sorry. I should have checked that the gate was shut and Karl
SHEILA: (interrupting) Should have checked that his mouth was shut!
Karl sombrely adds that Lennie and Chop are going to a hobby farm in the country but the chooks are staying. Sheila accepts their apology and invites them to stay for dinner (its lamb casserole!) but he rejects the offer immediately and rushes out of the house.
SHEILA: (calling after him) What about tomorrow night? I've got pork sausages because they are on special!
SUSAN: Oh Sheila!
SHEILA: I'm sorry Susan I couldn't help it... and apparently you couldn't either!
"Sorry," Susan replies then Sheila puts it to her that she deliberately left the gate open. "I've no idea what you are taking about," she says trying to keep a straight face and rejects Sheila reminding her that she has often said she'd love a garden like hers but couldn't because of the pets.
SUSAN: (trying to keep a straight face) We'd never do that to Karl...Ever!
Lucas and Vanessa's flat
Lucas leaves a voicemail for Paul telling him about some repairs needed for their apartment. Both are now really regretting buying the place especially after Vanessa gets a text from the real estate agent dealing with the cottage they saw in Daylesford. It seems that we could possibly be losing Lucas, Vanessa and Patrick to the country as both seem very keen on upping sticks.
Charlie's
Georgia arrives to chat with Paul about her nursing work/music balance. She reassures Paul that she will find a way to make it work but he doesn't think it will so and suggests that they take things slowly by cutting back on her performing schedule (with the money adjusted accordingly). Georgia isn't amused to discover the reason for Paul changing the plans and points out that Kyle wasn't speaking for her. He then drops it on her that he's found someone else to record her song!
GEORGIA: I wrote that song! You have no right to get someone else to sing it.
PAUL: It's in the contract, you know the one that Jarrod looked at and you signed remember.
GEORGIA: Yes but...
PAUL: Which means I own all the rights to your material, so I'll get whoever I like to perform it.
(Paul then goes to leave)
PAUL: So you enjoy those bedpans won't you.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Georgia reminding Kyle what his role in her life is.
- Kyle remonstrating with Paul.
- Someone else performing Georgia's song.
- Sheila concerned about Chris.
- Lucas and Vanessa weighing up their options.
