Hospital
Robbo is lying in a hospital bed hooked up to a ventilator. Outside the room, Karl gives Matt a run- down on his condition. Matt wants to know when they can talk to him. Karl thinks maybe 24 hours, and confirms that there is no sign of brain damage. Matt tells him they haven't found the car and no witnesses have come forward. Karl promises to let him know when Robbo comes round. Matt leaves and Lucas walks past.
LUCAS: Is that Robbo?
KARL: Yes it is.
LUCAS: What happened?
KARL: Oh, it was a hit- and- run. Someone's left him for dead.
No 30
Sonya wants to know why Toadie went out, and he replies he had to find Robbo. Sonya wonders why he went out in the night, and then he remembers a text on Sonya's phone: "Nobody likes a dobber". She asks if he found Robbo, but he can't remember - he just remembers waking up in Imogen's car. She asks if he saw any damage, but he says he came straight home.
SONYA: Well, it's not a crime to fall asleep in someone's car.
She says that there's probably a logical explanation and that he didn't do it.
TOADIE: I know that's what we both want to believe, but what if I did?
No 32
Lauren comes in to find Amber upset about Robbo. She feels she shouldn't care, but she does. Then she feels confused because she hates what he's done to the family. Lauren says that although Robbo has used and manipulated her, and he'd do it again, he was her first love, and it was real for her. She reassures Amber that when he leaves hospital, he'll probably go straight to jail, and she won't have to see him again.
Harold's
Imogen tells Mason she's catching up on sleep after looking for Amber all night. Mason reminds her they made a pact not to talk about it. She agrees reluctantly, asking who else she can talk to, because she doesn't know why Toadie didn't say anything. Mason asks how Toadie is involved. Imogen reminds him they're not talking about it! Then she tells him Toadie found the car on Fairfax Road. Mason asks why she had neglected to tell him the most important thing. She tells him there was a lot going on at the time. Mason points out that if Toadie had noticed the damage to the car, he might report it to the police. So they have to report the car stolen. Imogen looks doubtful.
No 30
Sonya and Toadie go over the events at the Dads of Erinsborough exhibition, and work out that Robbo spiked Sonya's drink to discredit her in court. Toadie says he has to go to the police.
A car park
Mason parks the car.
Police Station
Matt asks how the thief would know the car was at the garage. Imogen says it's a lemon and was always being fixed. He asks if she left her bag unattended, and she admits it's stupid. Matt asks if she automatically assumed it was stolen. She says she thought Mason had it. Then Toadie comes in, and asks her if she picked it up. Matt is puzzled, and Imogen tells Toadie it wasn't where he said, and explains to Matt that Toadie had told her it was on Fairfax Road, but when she went there it was gone.
MATT: And you didn't think to tell me this?
IMOGEN: I didn't think it would make a difference. It's still stolen.
MATT: Twice, in fact.
Matt asks Toadie how he found Imogen's car, and Toadie says he actually woke up in it.
TOADIE: I think I'm the reason Robbo's in hospital.
Police Station - interview room
Toadie says he doesn't remember taking Imogen's keys. He remembers leaving the house to look for Robbo, then the next thing he remembers is waking up in the car. The keys weren't in the ignition. Matt asks if he noticed any damage, but Toadie says he was so out of it, he didn't notice anything. He says Fairfax Road isn't far from the accident scene. Matt says there's nothing at present to connect Imogen's car to the incident. Toadie admits that he was angry with Robbo.
MATT: Mate, we have more suspects than we can poke a stick at. He was a very unpopular bloke.
Matt tells him to go for a blood test, to check for drugs in his system.
Hospital
Toadie and Sonya stop outside Robbo's room, and Toadie has a flashback to the fateful night.
TOADIE: I've been looking for you.
ROBBO: You sure you're not looking for the next pub? Strange. ...and here I am thinking it's your missus that likes the hard stuff.
TOADIE: Sonya...
ROBBO: Let me guess. You downed a juice that didn't agree with you.
Toadie turns to Sonya and tells her that he did find Robbo that night.
No 32
Mason arrives home. Matt asks him if he's seen Imogen and if she said that their car had been stolen. Mason explains that Imogen thought he had it, until she found her keys had gone. Matt asks when he found out. Mason says it was just before she went to the police. Matt asks if she told him about Toadie finding the car on Fairfax Road. Mason looks shifty, but says she did. He asks Matt why all the questions, and Matt says he thinks the car was linked to the hit- and- run. Since Toadie said there were no keys in the ignition, how did someone steal the car afterwards. Mason points out you don't need keys to steal a car. Matt suggests that maybe the thief came back later to move the car.
MATT: Or maybe something else happened.
MASON: Was it me? That's what you really want to know.
MATT: If I don't ask, someone else will.
MASON: It wasn't me. Are you happy now?
Mason insists he was back by 1, and Amber will back him up. Angrily, he says that he thought Matt trusted him. Lauren says he does, but Mason stomps out. Lauren tells Matt that Mason didn't do it.
MATT: I want to believe him.
LAUREN: It doesn't sound like it.
Harold's
Imogen comes to meet Amber, and Amber tells her how Robbo filmed them together, and that she only just found out from Chris. Imogen asks if Mason knew, and Amber nods. Imogen tells her she has to keep it together. Amber leaves, grateful that Imogen didn't judge her. On her way out, she meets Mason, who says that Matt wanted to know where he was last night. He tells her they have to keep telling him they were both home.
MASON: We've gotta alibi each other, otherwise we're both stuffed.
Mason goes over to Imogen, who tells him that Toadie had a blackout and thinks that he ran over Robbo, which Mason says he didn't.
IMOGEN: We know that, but the police don't. Maybe we should say something.
Mason says they don't need to, as Toadie won't go to jail. He asks Imogen if there are any other surprises.
IMOGEN: Actually yes.
MASON: That was meant to be a rhetorical question.
Imogen says Amber told her about the video. She wished Mason would have told her, because she threw away Robbo's phone. Mason insists that they go to look for it immediately.
A Road in Erinsborough
Imogen and Mason are looking for the phone, arguing about whether Imogen has remembered properly where she threw it. They wonder if the police have found it. Imogen asks Mason if he thinks Robbo will wake up. He says they can't worry about that right now, and they keep looking.
Paul's apartment
Paul is on the phone, inquiring about Robbo. He claims to be a friend, but refuses to leave his name. He ends the call as someone arrives in the lift. It's Marty. Paul asks about the previous night.
MARTY: Well, you didn't want him making trouble any more. He won't be.
PAUL: What the hell happened out there?
MARTY: Do you really want to know?
PAUL: No.
Paul hands him an envelope of money and tell him to make sure there's no way anyone can connect the two of them. Marty agrees.
Hospital
Vanessa takes an order for some cupcakes. She tells Lucas it's for next week and she'll be better by then. He says she won't be if she doesn't rest. He hands her Patrick and says he's heading off to the garage. He bumps into Karl, and asks about Robbo. Karl tells him to focus on Vanessa, because he thinks it could be a difficult pregnancy.
Garage
Lucas opens a tin which is full of money. He has a flashback to meeting Robbo.
ROBBO: Nobody likes a sore loser.
LUCAS: You were using marked cards. You're a cheat. I want my money back.
He tells Robbo he realised too late that Robbo let him win the first time, then stitched him up. Robbo tells him he's embarrassing himself.
Lucas takes out a wad of notes and sighs.
Hospital
Karl waffles a bit, then tells Toadie there were no drugs or alcohol in his system. Toadie and Sonya say that's impossible. Karl points out it was over 24 hours ago.
TOADIE: If there's no proof that I was drugged, they can say that I deliberately ran Robbo down. I have no defence.
