Previously on Neighbours
- Lucas not happy about the financial situation he is in.
- Not much interest in #32.
- Callum inviting Imogen to his birthday party.
- Imogen changing her mind after Bailey fills her in.
- Robbo demanding his money from Mason.
- Mason asking Paul for an advance on his wages.
- A hotel customer asking to store some jewellery in the hotel safe.
Bric- a- Brac store
Mason exits the store with a fistful of dollars and runs straight into Lucas. He empathises with Mason on money being tight and that there is no shame in selling things to make do - Mason doesn't exactly contradict what Lucas is thinking.
PirateNet studios
Thankfully it wasn't the patron's jewellery that Mason hocked but his own watch. Robbo would rather it was the full amount owed and suggests to Mason that he use some of the skills he taught him in Mount Isa! Mason immediately rejects that suggestion and pleads for another way just as some random guy appears for the card came Robbo is hosting.
Mason spots a laptop and thinks that the video will be on it but just as he is about to head towards it, Robbo spots him and says it's not on there.
Charlie's
Susan helps Toadie/Sonya decorate the table for Cal's party. The birthday boy isn't exactly pleased at their efforts (it looks more suitable for a 6 year old than a 16 year old!) and gets even more depressed after a text from Imogen to say she isn't coming. The night now feels extremely deflated for the lad... just like the balloon Toadie had accidentally let go before he'd been able to knot it!
Garage
Lucas receives a visitor - the guy who turned up at PirateNet to play cards with Robbo, and hands over a pile of $50 notes for a debt that he owned, apologising for how long it's taken to repay him. He tries to tempt Lucas into gambling but Lucas explains that isn't his scene any more.
Harold's Store
Lucas arrives late to pick up Patrick and discovers Vanessa is still under the weather. He is then stunned when she agrees to Lauren's suggestion of having a few days off.
Charlie's
Callum is having the birthday party from hell! He pulls Bailey aside to ask his thoughts on the text he got from Imogen bailing and is angry when he finds out what Bailey said to her. Just at that, Sonya appears with his cake (a childish one) which goes down like a lead balloon with Cal, so much so he stomps out of the bar.
Number 30
Toadie decides a chat about the party (and that Sonya is upset) with his son is in order. Callum apologises and then puts the blame firmly on Bailey. "I could get a girl if everyone stopped butting in," he tells his dad before signalling that the conversation is over and he's heading to bed.
Number 32 (next day)
Lucas is showing Gary the estate agent/auctioneer around the place in preparation for today's open house inspection, remarking to Lauren that he's never seen it so clean! He then thanks her for giving Vanessa the time off and asks if she can assist in showing people around as he thinks it's going to be busy as the estate agent has been plugging it all week...
...Except nobody has turned up at all. Gary suggests either doing some more additions or lowering the reserved price, neither of which Lucas wants to do.
School
Bailey apologises to Callum but he still isn't in a forgiving mood! Susan spots the pair of them and heads over and after Bailey leaves for class, she tries to give Callum her tuppenceworth but its knocked back.
Callum then gets the total wrong end of the stick when some girl gives him a pressie for his birthday but he thinks it's something that Bailey put her up to do, when in fact it's an actual genuine pressie!
Harold's Store
Mason has a quiet word with Toadie about what the consequences would be if he were to change his statement and is basically told don't! Toadie encourages him to stay with it (and adds that Sonya is suffering too) as the best course of action is for Robbo to be locked up. "Probably not my smartest idea," he adds before leaving the store.
School
When the buzzer goes, Callum heads straight for Bailey to confront him over setting Josie (what the girl is called) up to give him a pressie. Bailey hasn't a clue what he is going on about and tells him to ask Josie about it but he doesn't want to, so Bailey essentially washes his hands of the whole thing since Callum won't accept his apology.
Lassiters hotel exterior
Mason gets a visit from Robbo wanting more money. He pleads that he doesn't have the cash (nor will he get a cent if the video goes viral) but instead gets a 2 day deadline for $1000.
Once Robbo leaves, Paul casually saunters outside to speak to Mason and what the conversation was about. Mason keeps quiet but Paul isn't a daft man and knows something is up and wants answers.
MASON: I need your help Paul.
Charlie's
Mason has come clean with Paul and is told the only way to beat Robbo is to think smarter (after Paul rejected him asking to borrow the $8k). Paul is willing to help out but asks Mason to help him buy some time. Mason is extremely grateful for Paul's assistance before he's reminded that he should be back at work!
When Mason leaves, Paul calls Marty up - he's got more work for him.
Number 30
Toadie is home for lunch because he forgot his wallet! He starts talking to Sonya about Callum (who has apologised to his mum) when he spots the witness statement in her hand and is puzzled. She explains it so she knows it thoroughly for the trial and he reassures her that Robbo will get what he deserves.
School
Callum catches up with Josie to get confirmation from her that it was Bailey who put her up to it but turns out that she is a games nerd like him and that the pressie (some book) was genuine, which she hands over to him.
Harold's Store
Lucas is surprised to see Vanessa in the store and she explains that she was going stir- crazy and needed to get out of the flat. She asks him about the call after the open house and he explains that nobody turned up.
VANESSA: It's not looking good isn't it?
LUCAS: It's not great.
She remarks that it's not exactly the best time to get pregnant but he tells her of his plan - to call in all the debts he is owed at the garage which will tie them over.
LUCAS: It will work out. I promise.
PirateNet
Lucas arrives to join in the card game.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Vanessa wanting to know what the look on Lucas' face means.
- Sheila excited at how many are going to be turning up.
- Matt jealous of how close Brad/Terese are.
- Lucas playing cards.
