Hospital
Karl diagnoses what is wrong with Kate - premature ovarian failure and the upshot is that the chances of Kate conceiving are very low. She asks about hormonal treatment but Karl replies that there is no treatment for this condition and warns too about her increased risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. Kate is stunned at the diagnosis he has just delivered.
Harold's Store
Lucas drops Patrick off earlier than planned as he is unsettled. He then volunteers to take the afternoon off but Vanessa orders him to work as they need the money.
Lassiters hotel
Paul checks with Mason if he's had the contract checked yet and he replies that Toadie is looking over it. Paul then hands over a keycard for him (and Kate) to access his new penthouse suite so they can join him for dinner. He also suggests that Mason invests some of his forthcoming wages in some new clothes!
Sheila drops by to give Paul the books for Charlie's and compares him to Richard Branson when he instructs two hotel employees to deliver things to his penthouse! He brags that he's organised for a top chef to prepare the meal he's having (with Kate/Mason). "Sounds like you are going all out," Sheila remarks before trying to score an invite to his new pad but is informed she'll be waiting a long time for that to happen!
Number 28
Vanessa and a crying Patrick stop by to see Susan (and Holly). Patrick is bawling his eyes out and Vanessa isn't sure what is wrong with him but expert parent Susan guesses why - he's teething. Holly comes over to talk to Vanessa and seems to bond instantly with her (unlike Susan) and rushes off to her room to get some paper so they can do some drawings with Susan more than happy to look after Patrick!
SUSAN: She likes you.
VANESSA: Of course she does, I'm not her wicked stepmother!
Hospital
Georgia alerts Karl to a patient with potential meningitis and Karl confirms her diagnosis and sets up the treatment plan after reassuring the lad's mum.
Once they finish in the room, Georgia asks Karl about Kate and for once he doesn't reveal all, instead telling her that Kate could be done with a friend.
Number 28
Karl is back with supplies to remove the nail varnish and a pressie for Holly, which Susan is more than adamant that she shouldn't get and suggests giving her boundaries instead. He agrees to that and is then informed that they will also be doing some shopping for a new sofa!
Harold's Store
Karl tries having a word with Holly about how things are with Susan. Holly thinks she hates her because of who her mum is. He tries a different tact - that Susan is very important to him and appreciate it if she made an effort, which she somewhat reluctantly agrees to before they tuck in to some ice cream.
Vanessa (and still crying Patrick) enters the store for supplies and they spot Kate sitting but after a few seconds she bolts out of the store leaving Vanessa puzzled as to why.
Garage
Lucas decides on a new way to get money after going through a pile of overdue bills (by selling sound systems to customers) but Chris doesn't think that is a good idea and suggests calling around instead.
Harold's Store
A very smartly dressed Mason comes into the store and tries to suss out from Kyle what is wrong with Kate but he just replies that she is busy at work and implies that its probably unlikely to involve him. This makes Mason even more curious but Kyle says he needs to speak to Kate.
Number 26
Kate is looking online for info about her condition when Mason drops by with some flowers for her. He mentions that he's tried to call her too and she blames being busy with work stuff as to why she was ignoring him. She tells him that she doesn't want to go to Paul's dinner (too tired) but that he is going on her behalf.
MASON: I'm really worried about you.
KATE: I'm fine okay; this has nothing to do with you.
Mason tells her that when she's ready to talk, he will be there for her and she thanks him for that and the bunch of flowers he gave her.
Number 28
Cheapskate Karl is trying to buy a cheap sofa but is told that isn't on! Susan asks how the conversation with Holly went and he replies that she's promised to make a better effort with her but that isn't what Susan was after. Karl thinks that there is something else going on like her not warming to Holly because of how she feels about Izzy. That comment is met with a deathly stare before Susan says he's got it totally wrong - she feels for Holly because she is probably scared what with being in a strange country but ultimately while she is living with them, there needs to be rules.
KARL: (quietly) Sure.
To back up Susan's point, she shows him some of the drawings Holly has done, which shows the three of them with black lines through the drawing of her. "I take your point," he begrudgingly replies.
(Later)
Karl decides to ask Holly about the picture Susan pointed out to him with her crossed out. Holly would rather avoid talking about it but he pursues it and asks about her emotions when drawing it however just as she is about to reply, Susan enters and she clams up asking instead if she can go to her room.
Holly scarpers off and Karl begins to look through the rest of the drawings in the pad and the penny drops - it isn't Susan she is angry at but her mum. Both now feel very sorry for Holly.
Charlie's
Mason is hiding out in the bar trying to delay as long as possible having dinner alone with Paul since Kate has bailed. Sheila suggests that they all go up and give Paul a surprise house warming.
SHEILA: It will be fun!
She can't deny Mason's comment that it's just so she gets a sticky beak but even Lucas in interested in wanting a look! Mason isn't sure it's a great idea but Sheila is convinced it is since Kate won't be there and grabs the keycard out of Mason's hand.
SHEILA: Let's go!
Hospital
The mum of the lad Georgia diagnosed with meningitis comes by to give her a box of sweeties and a grateful hug as a thank you for what she did.
Number 26

Kate refuses to spill any details and turns down going out with him and Georgia citing that she's an emotional wreck, which gets worse when she goes back to reading about her condition when he exits the house.
Lassiters
Sheila, Mason, Chris, Lucas and Vanessa make their way up in the lift to the penthouse suite. They are all blown away with the place when the lift eventually arrives at its destination. The lift pings and they all get into position to welcome Paul.
SHEILA: Pretend you like him!
"Surprise," they all shout when the lift opens but Paul most definitely does not liking his unwanted guests and indeed orders them out! Mason initially hangs back but he too is told to go and his keycard taken away from him.
