Previously on Neighbours
- Mason wants to know who Kate slept with; and on Kyle's advice, she tells him it was Brennan
- Putting his own feelings aside, Callum plays matchmaker for Rani and Bailey
- Walter heads for drinks in town with an old friend who recognises him as 'Dave'
No 30
Callum is still heartbroken over Rani, despite Sonya and Toadie's best efforts to cheer him up - and forgoes the breakfast Toadie's cooked for him, disappearing off to his room. Toadie offers it to Walter instead, but he's just about to go out. He makes excuses for where he got to last night - out walking, he claims - then offers even vaguer excuses for his plans today. Once he's gone, Sonya tells Toadie that the way Walter's acting leads her to believe he's drinking again.
No 26
Despite Kate's pleas for him to spend the day with her, Mason has to go to work - but says they can catch up for lunch. Mason's just leaving when Walter arrives to see Sheila; and Sheila makes it clear that Kate ought to make herself scarce too! Walter invites Sheila for lunch later, but notices from a letter on the table that she has been sent a new credit card in the post, together with a pin number. Sheila says she's working so can't do lunch - then adds that she has to go to an ATM to reset the pin for the new card. Walter makes a swift exit, promising to come and see her in Charlie's later.
Lassiter's (outside)
Terese informs Paul that she is organising a photoshoot today for the new Lassiter's weddings brochure, in time for a big wedding expo this weekend. Paul tells Terese she won't be able to produce a decent brochure given the time and budget available, but she insists she can handle it. Kate turns up and takes Paul off to breakfast. Once they've gone, the photography firm calls and asks Terese if they can reschedule this afternoon's appointment. Angrily, she tells them the brochures are urgent and when they won't budge, says they won't be getting her business ever again.
Harold's Store
Susan complains that she still can't find the watch she's lost (that Walter stole), and drops hints to Karl that he might like to buy her a new one. Being the thrifty man he is, however, he tells her that he's sure the original will turn up.
Terese walks in, halfway through another angry phone call. Once she's done she explains the situation to Georgia; she's got a replacement photographer, but he's much more expensive, so now she can't afford to pay the models! Instead, Terese has the bright idea of asking Georgia if she and Kyle will do the photoshoot, in exchange for a free night in the hotel's honeymoon suite. Georgia's a bit worried about what Kyle will think, but she reluctantly agrees, and rushes off to tell him.
No 26
Kyle instantly refuses to take part in the photoshoot, saying he doesn't like dressing up and that his eyes might be sensitive to flash photography. Georgia tells him about the night in the suite, and insists she isn't dropping hints that she wants to marry him. Kyle says he knows that, but can't just take the day off work at the drop of a hat; however, Georgia suggests that Terese might help him get some work on the Lassiter's refurbishment if he helps her out. This convinces Kyle to agree, and Georgia starts taking some practice shots on her smartphone of him pouting like a model.
Ramsay Street
Callum's taking the bin out, when Ajay comes over, looking for Rani - until they both see her emerge from the Turners' house with Bailey.
CALLUM: No, she's... definitely not with me.
Ajay looks worried; he hadn't twigged that the pair were an item. Bailey and Rani come over and it's all very awkward - they invite Callum to go to Harold's with them. He thanks them for the offer but he says he's busy. Once they've gone, Ajay asks Callum how long they've been going out; he explains they got together yesterday. Ajay tries to make Callum feel better, saying Rani's been finding their break- up difficult - however, Cal doesn't want to talk about it, and heads back inside. Ajay looks concerned as he watches Bailey and Rani walking down the street holding hands.
Men's Shed
Walter is having another snoop around, and takes some beers from the fridge. Lucas catches him in the act, and he tries to claim he was moving them to reach the milk - but Lucas calls him on his bluff, accusing him of being back on the drink. Lucas explains Sonya's told him about Walter's past, and that he doesn't need to lie. Walter makes out that he doesn't want to disappoint Sonya and asks Lucas to keep what he's seen quiet, but Lucas encourages him to be honest to Sonya, telling him it will make them closer than ever. Walter says he'll tell her, but asks if Lucas would come with him, as he finds it difficult to admit when he's stuffed up. Lucas gladly agrees.
Lassiter's (reception)
Kyle and Georgia turn up for the photoshoot, and Terese thanks them for agreeing to do it - however, Georgia suddenly gets a call into work and has to bail. Kyle's all for pulling out, but Terese thinks they can still find another bride - and offers Kyle the refurb work he's after as compensation, before rushing off to find a suitable model.
Sonya's Nursery
Lucas stands by as Walter admits to Sonya he spent last night in a bar, and she offers him her support to help him through it. He's grateful, saying it's good to be able to talk to a family member.
WALTER: You're a wonderful niece.
Sonya promises to find out when there are Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on, so they can get started right away - and gives him a big hug. Walter goes off to meet Sheila, but asks Lucas and Sonya if they could keep it to themselves. Sonya thanks Lucas.
No 30
Cal is pouring his heart out to Toadie, saying it still hurts to see Rani and Bailey together, but Toadie insists there'll be other girls. There's a knock on the door; it's Bailey, and Toadie leaves them to it. Bailey apologises if Cal felt awkward earlier, and explains Rani's gone home as she's feeling sick. In the meantime he thought the two of them could play Dragon Prophesies together, and Cal is obviously keen. Bailey says he's glad things are cool between them, and Cal agrees.
Charlie's
Mason comes in to meet Kate for lunch - she's struggling to fill her time during the school break. She's keen to go and visit Harry and Sophie in Sydney again, but Mason looks suspicious - although when asked, he insists he's not worried about her seeing Brennan, and says he's totally cool with her going to Sydney.
At the bar, Walter is shamelessly drinking again, and suggests to Sheila that they share a bottle over dinner. While Sheila's otherwise occupied, he reaches into her handbag which is behind the bar, and slips her new credit card into his pocket. Walter suddenly 'remembers' he has an errand to run for Sonya, and rushes off, saying he'll be back later.
Harold's Store
Paul comes in to gloat as Terese continues to have trouble arranging the wedding brochure; she can't find a bride model within their budget. Since she's nearly out of time, Paul decides he's going to take over, and tells Terese not to forget the favour.
Lassiter's Lake
Walter has brazenly rung Sheila's bank and is asking them how much money he'll be able to withdraw from the credit card - $1,000 a day is the answer. Karl appears from nowhere, and Walter's forced to sit on the credit card, hiding it from Karl. Amusingly, Karl shows Walter the new watch he's bought for Susan, admitting it's not as pricey as the one she lost, but saying it's the thought that counts.
Kyle turns up, adding his approval about the watch, and saying it's nice to see older couples keeping the romance alive - pointing out that Sheila hasn't been so happy in ages since she's been dating Walter. Walter plays it down, then goes to make a quick exit, but forgets about the credit card which is still on the bench. Karl hands it back to him, without noticing the name on the card - and Walter sighs with relief at his close escape.
Charlie's
Back at the bar, Walter is about to return the card to Sheila's bag, when she appears, telling him he looks a bit flustered. He explains he ran into Kyle.
WALTER: I think he wants to find out if my intentions towards you are honourable.
SHEILA: Oh, and what did you say to that?
WALTER: I haven't made up my mind yet.
SHEILA (laughing): Hold that thought.
While she delivers food to a table, Walter again goes to put the card back in Sheila's bag, but she catches him in the act, joking that she usually calls the police when she sees shifty- looking men with handbags. He says someone's bound to take it from the bar, and offers to put it in the office for her. She thanks him for his kindness, and he slips the card back into the bag as he walks towards the office.
Ramsay Street
Mason bumps into Georgia, who asks him why he's home early; he explains the garage has been deadly quiet. He also mentions that he brought up the Brennan one- night stand with Kate again, and Georgia tells him it's nothing to worry about - it was a one- off. Mason is digging for more information, however, but she tells him all she knows is that Kate wants to be with Mason. He thanks her and she runs off to work.
Harold's Store
Ajay questions Rani about Bailey being her new boyfriend, but she's reticent, saying that when there's anything important to say, she'll tell him. Reassured, Ajay wanders off. Meanwhile, Susan is expressing her reservations about the new watch Karl has bought her, in the politest possible way!
SUSAN: It's a nice watch.
KARL: Practical, sensible...
SUSAN: Budget- conscious. And I'm very grateful.
KARL: Really? How grateful?
SUSAN: You play your cards right, you might find out when we get home.
Rani interrupts, asking if she can talk to Susan, while Karl goes to get more coffee. Rani explains that she's got a problem she can't talk to Ajay about, but the looming cliffhanger prevents us from hearing what it might be.
Lassiter's (outside)
Kyle is all suited up, ready for the photoshoot - Terese assures him she'll talk to Paul about getting him some of the refurbishment work. Paul turns up, with the bride model in tow - and Kyle is horrified to see that it's none other than Kate!
KATE: You didn't tell me Kyle was the groom...
PAUL: Well you're friends - there's not a problem, is there?
KYLE: No.
KATE: No.
They both look sheepish.
