Kyle tells Kate he thought it was going well with Georgia. He can't understand why she'd do this. Kate says it's because she's still mixed up after the Scotty thing. Kyle points out he's not Scotty, but Kate says Georgia can't trust anyone because she can't herself any more. Kyle wonders what he can do. Kate says Georgia needs closure from Scotty, and urges Kyle not to give up. After Kate has left, Kyle picks up his phone.

Kate meets Paul, who is in a good mood. He tells Kate that the Lassiters development has been approved. She wants to know how he managed that, and did it have anything to do with Lucy resubmitting the proposal. Paul's not really bothered about the reason: maybe they've just recognised true vision! Mason comes in, and to his surprise, Paul invites him to join them for dinner.

Ajay comes round to drop off the bill. Matt says it seems fair, and Ajay says it's mate's rates. It would be four times as much from Simmonds & Colbert. Matt asks how much the representation for Mason's trial will be. Ajay says they'll have to ask Toadie, and tells him to come by the office, where they'll work out a payment plan. Matt says it won't be necessary, but is clearly worried.

Callum is waiting to do a scene with Rani, but she wants to do a scene with Bailey. Callum protests that he's not in it, but Rani wants to practise it. It's a romantic scene and they are getting into it, until Callum starts shuffling papers and Bailey forgets his lines. Then he "remembers" he has to get some books. Callum comments that actors are very temperamental. Rani looks disappointed.

Bailey tells Mason he really likes Rani, and it's hard working closely with her, especially when Callum is watching all the time. Mason asks if he's thought of quitting. Bailey says all the time. He's letting her down enough already, because he forgets his lines.
BAILEY: She looks at me, and I can't concentrate.
Mason says if he forgets enough lines, Rani will have to replace him. If she does it, then it's problem solved!
Lassiters complex
Matt is talking to Ajay outside his office. Mason overhears the words "worst case scenario", and Ajay says they were discussing fees. Matt says they can use part of the proceeds from the sale of their house. Mason says he's 18, and he'll apply for legal aid. Matt says no, they'll take care of it. Kate tells him to let Matt help him.
MASON: I've done enough damage to my family. I'm not going to send them bankrupt.
Kate tells him that if she had any money, it would be his, but Mason says it's his problem.
School
Callum and another boy are rehearsing a scene where the boy promises to get rid of Raj. Then Rani and Bailey rehearse the scene after Raj has been injured. Bailey (apparently) forgets his lines, then tells Rani he can't do it. He tells Callum to take his role, and says he's dropping out. Callum looks smug, but then notices that Rani looks really upset.
Charlie's
Kate approaches Paul and asks if he would consider dropping the charges against Mason. Paul says it's not his call now that it's a police matter. She then asks if he'll lend the Turners the money to defend Mason.
KATE: I get the irony. But this is for me. What happens to Mason affects my life too.
Paul promises to think about it.
School
Callum rushes up to Bailey, and tells him he can't quit. Bailey says he knows how much Callum wanted to play Raj, and everyone saw how he mucked up his lines. Callum points out that Bailey was good every other time, and that's what rehearsals are for. He says he realises it must be hard pretending he's in love with Rani, but acting is just pretending. Bailey says it's not that simple, but Callum says it is. Bailey points out that Callum freaks out when he watches them. Callum admits that, but says it's important to Rani, because it's honouring her mum, and what could be more important. Bailey reluctantly agrees, and Callum goes off to tell Rani.
Charlie's
Paul meets up with Mason and Kate, who hasn't told Mason what she asked Paul earlier. Paul tells Mason he's making an effort, which Mason can't understand.
PAUL: I don't want my niece pining for you for the next 15 - 20 years, that's why.
Paul promises the services of Tim Collins. Mason isn't convinced, saying that Paul doesn't like him. Paul agrees, but says he loves Kate. He also offers Mason some work at Lassiters to see if Kate is right about him. Mason is still dubious, but Paul says the alternative is a Legal Aid lawyer, so Mason accepts gratefully.
School
Bailey listens outside the classroom, as Rani and Callum tell Kate that he hasn't turned up. They start without him, but he turns up as Callum is rehearsing a scene. Rani wants to finish rehearsing the previous scene with Bailey, which Callum isn't too pleased about. Rani tells him to act natural, and they complete the romantic scene. Kate is enthusiastic, and Callum tells him that Rani is happy. Bailey looks stressed.

Georgia is eating ice cream, when Kyle comes in. Georgia tells him she can't give him any explanation. He says she's the one who needs an explanation, and Scotty walks in behind him.
KYLE: You do though.
Kyle tells her that Scotty is the only one who can answer her questions.
(later) Scotty has told Georgia that he told everyone in Birragurra(?) and Georgia guesses (correctly) that it didn't go down too well, although Scotty says it wasn't as bad as he thought. He says he hates himself for what he's done to her, and none of it is her fault.
SCOTTY: If I was straight, it would be a whole different story.
She says she'll always love him, and thanks him for coming. He tells her that it was Kyle's idea, and he's obviously a really good bloke.

Georgia thanks Kyle and tells him she can move on. Kyle asks where it left them. She's not sure, but admits she was a coward for not telling him. She says that the admissions board have offered her a place, which she's going to accept. Kyle tells her it's time they gave it a proper go, and they kiss.
Lassiters complex
Paul is walking through the complex and Matt shouts to asks him what he gets out of it. Paul suggests that a little gratitude wouldn't go astray. Matt says that this won't get him onside.
MATT: When you next get in trouble with the law, don't expect me to make it go away.
PAUL: If I was going to bribe someone in the police force, I think I'd go a lot higher up the food chain than - what are you now? - ooh, a senior constable.
Paul says he's always got the option of going back to Ajay. Matt doesn't believe that Paul's doing it out of the kindness of his heart. Paul says he isn't: he's doing it for Kate.
Charlie's
Tim tells Paul he should be able to get a sentence reduction, but Paul tells him not to spend too much time. He doesn't expect Tim to win.
PAUL: I would be happy if he got 15 years.
He asks Tim if he has a problem with that, but Tim says he gets paid either way. They drink a toast to Mason being out of Kate's life.
