This week on Neighbours
- Summer wondering if Bradley has a thing for Susan?
- More secrets surrounding Andrew.
- More Paul/Priya teasing.
Previously on Neighbours
- Tash wanting to makeover Ed.
- Andrew admitting the truth regarding the accident.
- Paul threatening to rethink his Charlie's partnership with Andrew in the wake of him telling the truth.
Lassiters Complex
Chris tells Tash/Summer about the court case being over and that he's thrilled Andrew came through with it. Tash sees it another way - if it hadn't been for Andrew, then none of this would have happened!
Charlie's
Andrew is unaumsed to find someone behind the bar and just as he is ordering the guy out, Paul butts in to do the intros - the guy (Hamish Campbell) is the new bar manager! Paul takes Andrew aside to explain and he isn't amused at being forced out of running their bar but Paul's decision is final!
Hospital exterior
Aidan calls up his friend to get the results of the blood tests he got for Andrew under the fake name Ben Anderson.
Just as he's going back to work, Chris calls out his name and after telling him the good news about the court case, is met with an immediate hug. Chris then invites Aidan along to his celebration of the good news (the Uni ball) but when Aidan finds out what it is, and that Chris wants him there as his date, he isn't so keen. He's then given the opportunity to go simply as Chris' friend but again, he rejects that too before going back into the hospital.
Charlie's
Paul ties up the contract details with Hamish even though Andrew is not pleased at all. He pleads with his dad to be allowed to continue doing the role and eventually Paul concedes - he's got one final chance!
Number 28
Tash and Summer are getting themselves ready for the ball when Susan drops by. She is very impressed at how great Summer looks and with the dress Tash has chosen. Tash then announces that Summer doesn't have a date anymore, so she's just going to go solo.
Susan departs to meet Priya for supper and swaps places with Ed who has just arrived complete with the hideous tux. Tash sends Ed into the bathroom, telling him he's missed a bit shaving, and while he's occupied decides to take matters into her own hands and sabotages his suit by spilling coffee over it! Summer pleaded for Tash to talk to him and not sabotage the suit, but her mind was made up.
(Later)
Ed returns from the bathroom to find out about his suit and that Tash has blamed it on klutzy Summer! She then tells him that she's found a replacement - a suit that belonged to Zeke!
Charlie's
Paul is hassling Andrew big time about the bar (and what he considers to be mismanagement by Andrew) and is told to stop it by Chris who is in for food before going to the Uni ball. He's unaumsed at being interrupted especially given who it's by!
CHRIS: I have said that I'm sorry and I've been punished for what I did but my family does not deserve to lose everything just because you wanted someone to blame. And back off Andrew 'cos he doesn't deserve your crap either.
Watching unseen to Chris was Aidan, who seems very impressed at him doing that!
Uni ball
Chris is about to say how radically different Ed looks when he gets a nudge from Summer, so tones it down to "you look different" when he and Tash arrive for the ball. Tash adds to the complements too by saying Ed looks fantastic and drags him off to meet some people.
CHRIS: Such a strange couple.
SUMMER: Mmm, every couple's strange in their own way but I think you're right, nothing as strange as them!
Chris then tells her about inviting Aidan and they volunteer to be each others' dates as long as there is no making out at the end of the night!!
Charlie's
Looks like they are trying to rival the noise of the ball in the bar as Paul can't hear whoever it is he's talking to on the phone and goes to find somewhere quieter instead, looking at Priya as he passes the table she's sitting at with Susan.
Meanwhile, Andrew quickly takes another tablet while the coast is clear just as Aidan comes into the bar. He again tries to get Andrew to stand up to his dad, but he's more interested in finding out the results of the blood tests. They aren't back yet, so Andrew pleads with Aidan to chase them up because of how Paul is with him.
Uni ball
People can't believe the change in Ed and how great he looks. Some lassie even compliments them as being "the perfect couple!" Ed isn't pleased with the compliments though and Tash tries to explain that it's good to have people saying you look nice.
(Later)
While Summer drags Tash to the dance floor, Chris and Ed make extremely painful small talk with each other but as they chatted, Ed inadvertently found out who actually spilt the coffee on his suit.
(Later)
Commercial break later, Ed confronts Tash about his makeover and demands to know why she changed him. She confesses that the suit looked awful but didn't want to say anything to him in case it hurt his feelings. He then wants to know why she's even dating him if she hates how he dresses and she quickly replies that she doesn't.
ED: Then why are you trying to change me?
TASH: This is a special occasion; I wanted to see you look the part. Changing your clothes doesn't change who you are.
"Really?!" he sarcastically replies back and instead asks if her clothes/hair/make up defines who she is.
TASH: No.
ED: You know, I knew you could be shallow I just didn't think you were stupid as well.
Charlie's
Aidan comes looking for Andrew and gives him some good news - the medication he's taking seems to be working but again tells him to go to the hospital to get it properly checked out. He also urges him to take inspiration from Chris standing up to his dad earlier to do the same, but Andrew isn't coming clean any time soon!
Uni ball
Tash has been pondering what Ed has said to her and when Sum finds her, asks if she is shallow. "Yes," Summer truthfully replies and but then as they talk (Tash tells her about what happened with Ed), reassures Tash that yes, its great that she likes looking good because its part of who she is.
TASH: Is that supposed to be some sort of insult?
Summer then gives her a pep talk, using examples of the folk at the ball to prove that how people choose to look is a "visual expression of who we are."
SUMMER: And none of us should have to change that. Not you and not Ed. You wanting to be fashionable isn't being shallow, it's just who you are.
(Later)
Its smoochy time on the dance floor and Tash searches out Ed. Both apologise to each other before Tash explains that what she likes about going out with him is being challenged... but then adds that she can't change the way she looks. "I'm not asking you to," he says but she does because to her, not changing equals her being shallow. Ed doesn't reply back to that, so she then goes on to say that how he dresses is a part of who he is (just like she is) and that she shouldn't have tried to change him.
TASH: At the end of the day, we're both really, really different and I think we're too different to make this work.
ED: Tash.
TASH: It's not just about how we dress, it's everything and there is only so much compromise and change we can make before we stop being who we are and make each other miserable. I don't want to be someone who makes you miserable.
ED: Yes, me neither.
TASH: I think we should just be friends.
ED: I think you're probably right. You can't argue with logic right?
They both then stand up and share a farewell kiss with each other before Ed walks away and Tash tries hard not to cry as we go into the final commercial break.
(Later)
Summer and Chris do their best to console their friend and the trio then decide to head home to moan about boys while pigging out on ice-cream!
Chris notices that Summer has left her bag and when he goes to pick it up (the girls have left), he notices a latecomer to the ball - Aidan!
AIDAN: So, about us trying again. Am I too late to say yes?
Chris can't believe what he's just heard as a wry smile comes to his face and he lifts his hand to stroke the side of Aidan's face before he takes it and brings it to his mouth to tenderly kiss it.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Sum/Tash wanting to know if Chris is back with Aidan.
- Chris wanting things to be more open this time.
- Summer asking for an opportunity at work.
- Susan confessing to Priya what her new hobby is and that you can keep it a secret!
