JADE: Don't!
RHYS: What happened in there...are you going to tell Kyle?
Jade doesn't answer and starts to walk out.
RHYS:(grabbing her arm) Jade, I need to know...
JADE: Rhys!
She walks out, clearly very upset.
No.24
Kyle is just finishing up a handyman job for Kate and says he's off to find Jade. Kate is about to talk to him further, but they are interrupted by Lou, who moans about Kyle not working hard enough(!)
LOU: Sometimes that boy's too soft for his own good.
KATE: You shouldn't be so hard on him.
LOU: I wasn't!
KATE: He went out of his way to fix the fridge for us.
LOU: I know, I know.
KATE: He's fine just the way he is.
LOU: Point taken. He's lucky he's got you in his corner.
He heads off to check out the renovations at No.30.
No.30
Lou, Sonya and Toadie are examining the new kitchen, which they are very pleased with. Lou admires the garbage disposal unit. Sonya rolls her eyes and says they have a perfectly good compost heap. Lou tries to get them to have more renovations done(!)
Callum comes in and admires the kitchen. He asks if he can make lunch(!) They reluctantly say he can do his spaghetti bolognaise.
There follows a musical montage for Callum chopping and cutting things, with Toadie, Sonya and Lou looking on worriedly from the living room(!)
Ramsay Street
Jade walks up the street, reliving the incident with Rhys via flashbacks. She's interrupted by Kyle driving up in his ute, beeping his horn. He greets her and tells her that he wants to sort things out. She wants to sort things out too and suggests that they go inside.
KYLE: Jade.
JADE: No, I need to explain...
KYLE: I'm sorry. Look, things between us are good. Sometimes I forget, I get carried away.
JADE: No, I should be the one apologising to you.
KYLE: It's OK.
Rhys bursts in and as a distraction, tells Jade he needs the number of a girl from bootcamp. Kyle is distracted by a call on his mobile and goes out to the ute.
RHYS: So, have you told him?
JADE: Told him what? Told him what happened?
There is a flashback to what actually happened - Jade pulling away before Rhys could kiss her and punching him in the stomach(!)
JADE: You played me!
RHYS: I didn't do anything.
JADE: I can't believe you're saying that to me with a straight face!
RHYS: Jade...your issues are your issues.
JADE: No! No, Rhys, you're not getting away with this. You've had this planned for months. All this 'people like us' psycho-babble. I'm nothing like you! Do you think this is the first time someone's tried this on me? Do you honestly think I have no idea what you're trying to do?
RHYS: OK...
JADE: You know, I swore that I would never let anybody do that to me again, but I was so busy worrying about Kyle, I didn't see you coming. So don't you dare play the innocent with me! Because *that* did not 'just happen'! You knew exactly what you were doing. You make me sick! From now on, you stay away from me.
RHYS: Are you going to tell him?
Jade just looks at him, angrily.
(Later)
Jade is sitting on the sofa when Kyle comes in.
JADE: Hey, listen, I wanted to clear the air.
Kyle looks a bit worried.
JADE: I'm *really* sorry about the whole room-sharing thing.
KYLE: I didn't mean to freak you out. I should have known. But Rhys said how much you've mellowed recently...
(Jade rolls her eyes but doesn't say anything)
KYLE: ...I don't know, I guess I got carried away.
JADE: But you knew going into this it wasn't going to be straightforward.
KYLE: Didn't think it'd be this complicated though.
JADE: Really?
KYLE: Yeah, fair point.
JADE: You know, there's a lot of stuff that I'm not ready for. Sharing a room, meeting your family. But for the first time since, well, ever, this sort of stuff is something I'm actually thinking about. And that's because of you. Kyle, I want you to know that I'm in this 100%.
KYLE: I know it's still early days. But you've got to give me something.
JADE: How about this?
She takes his hand.
JADE: I love you, Kyle. How was that?
KYLE: I'll take it!
They kiss, happily.
No.30
Callum is finishing his meal. He throws the spaghetti at the wall to test it and Toadie tries not to go mad. He pushes some veggie peelings into the garbage disposal unit and suddenly the smoke alarm goes off(!)
In the commotion, Toadie's keys go down the garbage unit. Sonya suggests to Lou that they have lunch together another time. He agrees, and beats a hasty retreat!
Toadie tries not to go mad about his keys(!)
(Later)
Toadie is trying to retrieve his keys from the garbage disposal unit, but they are truly wedged. Toadie's phone rings and it's his boss calling him into work. He is not amused, but says he'll come in as soon as he can. He heads off to get changed, and catch the train to work!
No.26
Rhys comes in and Kyle is there.
KYLE: Hey, you've made yourself scarce! We need to sort something out.
RHYS: Whatever Jade said...
KYLE: Oh, don't try and pin this on Jade. What's the go with the gas bill?
RHYS: Wait, what are you talking about?
KYLE: Dude, you have to turn the heater off when you're on an early shift!
RHYS: OK, right, yep, sure.
KYLE: Me and Jade don't earn your sort of coin, you know, so, a little bit of consideration.
RHYS: OK, got it, no worries.
Jade comes through with some washing and Kyle heads off to the yard.
When he's gone:
RHYS: Thanks.
JADE: I didn't do it for you.
Charlie's
Kate is having a drink when Rhys comes in, looking agitated. She goes over to chat to him. She knows instinctively that the thing with Jade blew up in his face. They have a terse conversation and Kate says she doesn't want to hurt her friends.
RHYS: You know what, Kate, maybe it's time you worked out what you actually want.
Simmons and Colbert
Sonya calls Toadie and tells him that they haven't retrieved their keys yet, but Callum has got the tongs stuck in the garbage disposal unit too(!)
Charlotte shows Toadie into the boardroom and tells Toadie that he'll be working all afternoon on a new case. He'll be meeting with the client at 4pm.
Over a musical montage, Toadie works and employees bring him sandwiches. (Seriously, a musical montage for legal work?!)
Toadie does indeed end up sealing the deal for the customer (Elizabeth), who is very pleased. Charlotte is very pleased with Toadie, and tells him to go home to his family. He's surprised that she's given his other case to someone else. Charlotte says she didn't realise before what he and Sonya were going through.
Later, at the reception desk, Toadie sees Charlotte again and tells him he'd like to take over the case she gave to another employee. He tells her that work is actually more relaxing than being at home. He takes some files and says he'll be ready by Monday.
No.30
Kyle is inspecting the garbage disposal unit and says it'll cost a bit to fix. Toadie comes in with a load of files. He tells Sonya that he has to work all weekend. She says he's supposed to be relaxing and de-stressing, but he lies and says there's "nothing he can do about it".
Callum finally retrieves the keys and hands them to Toadie. Sonya suggests that Toadie talks to Charlotte, but he implies she is a tyrannical employer(!)
