This week on Neighbours
Strife with Kate and Sophie.
Tash reluctant to find out about her mum.
Paul heckling at the public meeting about the development.
Toadie winding Paul up but then being warned to watch his back.
Previously on Neighbours
- Kate remarking to Noah how Sophie is liking his lessons.
- Michael lying to Tash over how her mum died.
- Chris quitting his job at the garage.
Ramsay Street
Michael and Tash have a catch up session over how she is catching up with the work she missed when she was off following her accident before offering her a lift to school.
School
Noah is playing his guitar in the classroom and Sophie decides to go and listen to him. Tash enters the classroom too and makes a jibe about the music, which Sophie doesn't appreciate and defends the music, but Tash heads out as quickly as she entered having got what she came in for. Sophie seems rather disappointed when Noah has to head off to class instead of listening to her play (she wants some help on a song she is having trouble playing).
Meanwhile in Michael's office, after finishing a call, he takes out the Williams family photo to have another look at it and while doing so, experiences a flashback.
Garage
Lucas arrives at the garage and starts calling out for Chris - he obviously has forgotten that the lad quit or had hoped he'd change his mind and come back?
Number 22/Garage
Chris is round having brekkie with Andrew and Summer when Lucas phones to find out where he was and is reminded that he quit and was serious!
Number 22
Summer and Andrew can't believe that Chris has quit the garage especially since he loves it so much. They quiz him on why he quit but Chris refuses to say.
School
Andrew now realises that they can't pursue their car finding/doing up venture now Chris has quit. He seems to think Chris quitting is to do with his dad but again, Chris keeps quiet and takes the hump when Andrew keeps pushing him for a reason.
Sum runs into Tash at the lockers and asks if she's heard anything about Chris quitting but its news to her too. Changing topics, Sum asks how Tash is doing and she replies good - things are great between herself and her dad and she's stopped hearing the water sounds too.
Michael hears Tash and Sum walking along the corridor and quickly puts the photo in- between the files lying on his desk.
As they continue to class, Sum quizzes Tash on whether she's talked to her dad about her mum but she replies no and she isn't going there either, things between them are really good at the moment.
Noah enters Michael's office to see if he can distribute some flyers throughout the school (about a jam session) and is given permission.
(Later)
Commercial break later and Lucas rocks up to the school to be quizzed by Michael where his reports for his students are. Lucas hasn't done the reports (too busy at work) and Michael isn't impressed although he subtly changes the topic onto how Michael/Tash are getting on to divert attention from the fact he hasn't done them!
Sum interrupts the conversation to ask Michael to head to a classroom urgently and he gives Lucas permission to use his computer to do the said reports. He even tells Lucas to look at the examples on his desk in the files... obviously forgetting that the Williams family photo is hidden in amongst them!
Harold's Store
Sum is impressed that Tash is still in the library when she calls her from the store. She spots Noah's flyers and the two of them start talking about it and he mentions that he's really after a bass player since that is the heart of the song.
School
Lucas settles down to do his reports and as he goes through Michael's files, comes across the Williams family photo but doesn't realise who the family actually are.
Andrew spots Lucas and wants him to chat to Chris' dad (thinking its Mr P who made Chris quit) so Lucas fills him in on how Chris actually quit. Andrew seems puzzled at Chris quitting so easily.
Lassiters Complex
As they walk through the complex, Tash listens to Chris as he now had doubts over whether he should have quit or not but she reassures him that he did the right thing in standing up for himself. He also explains to her why he didn't tell Andrew and Summer - Andrew would have agreed with Lucas and Summer would start a campaign!
Andrew makes a beeline towards them when he too approaches the complex and doesn't mince his words with Chris over not correcting him when he jumped to the conclusion that quitting the garage was due to his dad.
ANDREW: Mate some people are just jerks.
TASH: You reckon?!
ANDREW: Alright but you have to suck it up and move on otherwise you'll get nowhere in life alright. You're going to stuff up a lot of people on the way.
Chris doesn't reply, just leaves, so it's Tash that explains the reason why Chris quit. Andrew explains that isn't what Lucas said and she adds that is part of the reason why he quit too - Lucas didn't think there was a problem over what was said.
TASH: So shut up about your stupid car scheme. Chris has bigger problems than that.
School playground
Andrew catches up with Chris and sits down on the bench to talk to him - explaining that he thought they were mates so could have talked to each other, he's only peeved at him because he didn't say anything. Chris doesn't exactly want to chat and seems to also take offence at Andrew's "lax" attitude over him being gay.
CHRIS: You supported me when I came out and then you freaked out when you found I had a crush on you.
ANDREW: Well yes but... I kind of thought we were all over that.
CHRIS: We're only over it because it never really came up again.
ANDREW: No that's not the way it is.
CHRIS: Yes it is! I get it, its fine. Just have to handle this by myself.
Harold's Store
After overhearing earlier what Noah said about wanting a bass player, Sophie looks online to where she can swap guitars.
School
Andrew finds Lucas who has just finished his reports to tell him he has to apologise to Chris and that he should have said something to the guy. Lucas feels its Chris who should apologise to him and adds that he can't be expected to say something to a customer every time they say something he doesn't agree with - if he did he'd have no customers left! "This is a bit different," Andrew tries to suggest and doesn't appreciate Lucas' reasoning that "its life."
ANDREW: Alright the next time someone has a go at Chris 'cos he's gay I'll just say Lucas says it's just life deal with it.
LUCAS: Don't be stupid.
ANDREW: Well then don't be homophobic.
LUCAS: I'm not homophobic.
ANDREW: Alright, what if it was Summer that was working at the garage and someone had a go at her 'cos she was a girl or um if Chris was black would this be all good? Would it?
LUCAS: The guy didn't know Chris was gay. I'm trying to run a business.
ANDREW: (scoffing) You know that's just a complete and utter cop out. It doesn't matter where this happens, it will never ever change what it is.
LUCAS: Okay, when you get older you'll realise that it's not...
ANDREW: (interrupting) Don't even try and pull on that, age has got absolutely nothing to do with this. You know what this was about? This is about standing up for a mate. Chris really looks up to you but I guess you've done the right thing for your business.
Harold's Store
Lucas spots Tash in the store and asks where her dad is. She replies surfing and begins to have a go at him over Chris but he stops her in her tracks and hands over the papers for Michael, asking that she passes them onto her dad!
Beach
Michael gets changed into his wetsuit and heads into the water.
Harold's Store
Sum is about to quiz Tash on what happened when she spots the Williams family photo in amongst the papers Lucas gave her for her dad. She is stunned because she has never seen the picture before.
Beach
Michael comes out of the water and looks longingly at the waves.
Harold's Store
Tash is having trouble digesting the photo and the fact Michael said they never visited the beach. "Why did he lie?" Summer asks.
Charlie's
Michael spots Lucas at the bar when he enters and Lucas tells him that he finished the reports and gave the computer back to Tash.
Number 28
Tash confirms to Sum that it is her in the photo and that the woman is her mum. Sum mutters aloud that there must be some sort of explanation.
Charlie's
Lucas tells Michael about the photo that was in amongst the stuff and that he gave it back to Tash too. Michael calmly thanks him for doing that.
Number 28
"It doesn't make any sense," Tash admits and Sum suggests she ask her dad but she is reluctant to spoil how good things are between them although Sum does point out how else is she going to find out?!
SUMMER: You have a right to know.
Charlie's
Lucas tries to subtly ask questions too about the photo - Michael confirms its Helena but doesn't say anything else when Lucas remarks about it being a fun day at the beach. Michael almost seems relieved when Lucas finishes his beer and departs to head back to work.
Number 28/Charlie's
Tash calls her dad but he lets the phone right out as we head into the promo.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
- Kyle telling people about his petition.
- Tash returning the photo to Michael.
- Sum pushing Tash to find out about her mum.
- Tash explaining why she doesn't want to ask.
- Lucas apologising to Chris but he isn't happy with it.
- Sonya having a word with Lucas.
