Charlie's
Andrew and Summer are surprised about the news that Tash is headed to boarding school and they try to give her tips on how to change Michael's mind.
SUMMER: Then tell him that you've learnt your lesson and you won't stuff up again.
NATASHA: Yeah, I have. He's kind of heard that one before.
Natasha is sure that Michael isn't bluffing and nothing will change his mind so she just wants her last night with them to be fun and they all dance around having a blast.
Later, they're all danced out for the moment and Chris gives Tash a big hug after telling her that they're going to miss her. Summer asks about Michael and whether he would want to be having dinner with Tash on her last night, but Tash doesn't want to talk about her father and gets up to dance again. Summer and Chris reason that Mike will be on his own now and the situation is sure to be hard for him too, however Tash doesn't think much of him at the moment so doesn't really care.
Number 32
Poor lonely Mike walks into Natasha's room and looks around. He sees a photo of himself and Tash and puts it into Natasha's packed suitcase.
Number 26
Jade sees Kyle making a soybean and spinach omelette. Hmm. It apparently has heaps of protein to help with Kyle's muscle mass, even when he's "burning up energy". He starts making the moves on Jade since they've got the house to themselves but Jade is reluctant because Michelle might be home any minute. Kyle still wants to kick her out but Jade doesn't want the drama of looking for another housemate again. Kyle goes back to his eggs and Jade stands behind him.
JADE: Looks good.
KYLE: Yeah, you've got to beat the eggs just right.
JADE: I'm not talking about the eggs.
And they totally get it on while the eggs on the stove will burn the house down.
Harold's Store
Toadie's on the phone with a big client and needs to head out into the city tonight. In a way to make the situation positive, he suggests that he can get a hotel room with Sonya in the city. Kyle and Jade head in after their "workout" for dinner since the omelette set off the smoke alarm. Kyle heads over to order and Sonya questions Jade on Kyle, but Jade insists that they're "just friends".
Over at the counter, Jade wants Kyle to "tone it down" after he calls her babe. She drags him outside for a chat about ground rules. He's a little offended that she wants to keep it quiet because he thinks she's embarrassed about him but she insists it's just because they live on Ramsay Street which is gossip central. He then mistakes it to mean that keeping quiet is so that they're free to pick up other people, to which Jade agrees after hesitation. If either of them bails out because of other people, then the penalty will be cooking dinner and doing the dishes. And if it gets serious - to which Jade quickly replies that it won't - but if it does, then they call it quits. They shake on it.
Number 26
Kyle is trying to persuade Jade to have "dessert" since Michelle still isn't home, except there's a knock on the door. Kyle lets Sonya in and then practically ignores Jade as he heads back into the kitchen. Sonya wants a favour from Jade - could she stay at their place to look after Callum? Jade can't think of a good reason to say no since she can't let on about her arrangement with Kyle, so she gives in and agrees. After Sonya's gone, Jade heads back into the kitchen.
JADE: What was that?
KYLE: What?
JADE: Blanking me like that.
KYLE: Rule one: act like there's nothing going on between us.
JADE: Uh yeah, that means act normal, like friends.
KYLE: Dude, that wasn't the rule.
Kyle is hilarious. He tries to continue on with what they were about to get into earlier but is thwarted once again - Jade has to pack and head over to look after Cal.
Harold's Store
Michael is sitting alone.
PAUL: Good to see you out with all your mates.
He's surprised at the lack of a comeback. Spotting the boarding school pamphlets, he gets the idea that Mike is looking for a new job but the response is "no", so Paul sees that Mike is shipping his daughter off to boarding school and he looks like he feels sorry for Michael. Mike gets up to leave, and then it gets weird when Paul suggests that they hang out and Michael actually accepts.
PAUL: (gestures to Michael's coffee) Michael, do you fancy something a little stronger than that?
MICHAEL: What, with you?
PAUL: Well yeah, have you got any better offers?
MICHAEL: I can think of a million things I'd rather be doing.
PAUL: Okay, suit yourself.
(Paul walks away and Michael has a think about it)
MICHAEL: Hey! Top shelf?
PAUL: I only do top shelf.
Charlie's/Lassiter's
Tash is still dancing up a storm as she has been all night, until the music stops. Summer suggests some food and chilling out time at Andrew's place, but Tash wants to go out and stay out and party party party.
Meanwhile, Paul and Michael have a strange heart- to- heart about their respective kids. Paul didn't send Andrew to boarding school because he didn't want to shirk his parental responsibility just because he's busy. Michael clarifies that it's not about him being busy, but Paul knows that. The kids then walk by with chatter about partying and dancing and a sad Michael downs the rest of his drink and thanks Paul for it. Paul reassures Mike that he's doing the right thing.
Beach/Ramsay Street
Surf's up and Michael has gone to the beach again.
The kids, however, are just arriving home. Tash is not surprised to see her father's car missing and rightly assumes that he's surfing. Andrew wants to pig out and then sleep for the day but poor Chris has to work. Natasha is not ready to let the night end though - she wants to skinny dip in the number 30 pool!
NATASHA: Nothing like a skinny dip to wake us up.
SUMMER: A skinny dip?
NATASHA: Why not?
SUMMER: I dunno, uh, maybe being caught naked in the neighbours' backyard?
Number 30
A sleepy Jade is woken up by a text. Kyle wants to know "What's for dinner?" because "U bail U cook dude!". Hearing commotion outside, she spies the teens down by the pool. They start to take their clothes off but before they even have their jackets off, Jade tells them to get dressed and get out. All but Tash is willing and Natasha gets in Jade's face about it since she really doesn't care if Jade calls Michael. They have a little tussle and Tash falls into the pool - and stays there, facedown. It looks like a prank at first but when it becomes clear that she's not joking, they run to pull to her out.
Beach/Number 30 backyard
Michael is staring out into the sea at the rolling waves while back at the pool in number 30, his daughter is having all sorts of trouble with water. She's hit her head on the side of the pool on the way in. Summer calls an ambulance while Jade performs CPR on the not breathing Natasha.
Preview
Sophie is practicing guitar in the garage as Kate leaves the garage.
SOPHIE: Shut the door.
KATE (V.O): She's doing this whole teenaged thing, giving me attitude, one word answers.
(Andrew talks to Kate at Harold's)
ANDREW: I did the exact same thing with my mum. She managed to get involved without ever actually getting in my face. One of the best things she ever did.
(Sophie opens the garage door)
SOPHIE: What now?!
(Lucas with Jade at the gym)
LUCAS: If she were normal, this wouldn't be a problem!
LUCAS: I'm getting major bunny boiler vibes.
JADE: You are such a wimp.
LUCAS: If she does go psycho, it won't be me who's stuck in a share house with her.
(Shots of Michelle presumably annoying Lucas)
MICHELLE (V.O): You need to connect more.
(The ambulance has arrived on Ramsay Street)
SUMMER: Tell him to meet us at the hospital, OK?
(Michael arrives home and rushes to the stretcher that Natasha is on)
ANDREW: Hey, Michael...
SUMMER: She nearly drowned!
