Charlie's
Declan is on his laptop looking for hotels when Michael offers his home to them. Rebecca is reluctant because of the awkwardness but Declan wants her to go because he doesn't want to drag Indy around Erinsborough looking for a place to stay. Michael lets Declan know that the offer extends to him as well, but Dec will sort himself out - he just wants his mum and Indy to have a place to stay. Michael gives his room to Rebecca and Indy while he stays on the couch. As they head off, Paul strolls in hoping to gloat but it quickly backfires.
PAUL: So, off to the caravan park, are you?
MICHAEL: Oh actually, we should thank Paul for getting you kicked out of the hotel! Always planned to ask Rebecca to move in, you just sped up the process.
Paul stands there fuming while Mike and Declan smirk at Paul and Rebecca even cheekily says "awww" as she walks past him. Michael is so incredibly happy with himself that he turns back for one last look at Paul before exiting.
Number 32
Tash is on the phone with Andrew talking about the matching sheet set that she wants to buy. Tash doesn't care about the cost - they don't want their kid getting cold! Michael returns home with Rebecca and Indy in tow which confuses Natasha. And then angers her when she finds out that Bec and Indy are moving in for a few days. Tash bluntly states that Rebecca would have a place to go to if she hadn't cheated on her husband! She's grossed out when Michael says Rebecca will be staying in his room, although he clarifies that he will stay on the couch. Mike tells her to treat guests with respect but Tash just ignores him and goes to her room.
Charlie's
It sounds like Dec has found himself a single room for the night, and Lucas, who has heard the last of his phone call, thinks that Dec is off on a business trip. Declan lets him know that Paul got them kicked out of the hotel room.
LUCAS: He can do that?
My thoughts exactly. Lucas thinks it's not worth it to keep forking out for a hotel room so he invites Declan over to crash at the shed with him. Declan is confused as to why Lucas is also homeless, so Lucas explains that Kate kicked him out and his recent earnings have gone back to the police. Declan needs a place with a shower though, since he has job interviews to attend, but Lucas tells him to grab his luggage and they'll sort something out.
Number 24
Kate and Brennan are washing the dishes together while Kate teasingly straightens a decorative item, playing on Mark's need for perfection. Kate answers the door to Lucas and immediate rips into him without listening to what he's there for.
KATE: Lucas, you don't live here anymore.
LUCAS: I know where I live, Kate.
Lucas is there to ask Kate to let Dec stay in the spare room for a few days since he needs a place with a shower, and Declan didn't ask himself because Kate should know that he wouldn't want to. Kate gets annoyed that Lucas assumed she would say yes, but he didn't assume at all - they were on the way to the shed which is where they'll continue to if she says no. Kate reluctantly says yes.
Number 24 - Night
It's the middle of the night and Declan is rummaging through the fridge for something to eat. He picks a tub of yoghurt as Mark walks into the kitchen to get a glass of water for Kate. Mark warns Declan that he's just picked up a tub of Kate's favourite and things get a little territorial and macho. Mark subtly warns Declan off but Dec quickly defends himself by saying that it was Lucas' idea that he stayed there and it's only for a couple of days. They both tensely agree that Lucas is a top bloke. Mark leaves and Declan sighs before putting the yoghurt back.
Erinsborough High
Paul has come to pay a visit to Michael to tell him that Lassiter's will no longer be supplying the school lunches. Michael is irritated that Paul has become so desperate that he's messing with the children, but Paul thinks it's a good business decision...with side benefits.
Number 24
Mark is having breakfast at the table while Declan is sitting on the bench. Kate gets ready to leave for her work placement at school and she starts moving the jars in front of Brennan to annoy him again. She bumps into Lucas on her way out who has come to offer Declan some assistance in job and home seeking. Declan has everything sorted for the time being though, so Mark ropes Lucas into attending...
Police Station - Exterior
...the police force open day. They chat a little about how Lucas is helping Declan out as a mate and no, Mark is not being a jealous boyfriend. Mark wants Lucas to hang around a bit at the open day and Lucas looks really confused and suspicious as to why.
Erinsborough High
Michael is on the phone urgently looking for Rebecca to help salvage his lunch problem, but she's not answering her phone. Kate hands him her work placement form for next term and as Michael heads back to his office, he tells off a bunch of students (Andrew amongst them) for loitering after the bell has rung. Michael threatens detention and Andrew is promptly given one.
MICHAEL: Magazine.
ANDREW: Have you not taken enough from my family already?
Tash wants him to leave this stuff out of school but Andrew refuses. Kate tries to save the situation by taking the magazine off Andrew and telling him that he can get it back after school. Michael thanks Kate but she can see why Andrew is upset. Michael doesn't think that's an excuse for disrespect since he is still the school principal, but while Kate isn't arguing that point, she thinks that from Andrew's point of view, Mike stole his dad's wife. David the school- board member guy turns up to chat to Mike about a complaint from a parent regarding the lunches and Michael sees Andrew smugly looking at him from a distance.
Lassiter's Complex
Bec is helping Mike load lasagnes into a car to take back to school for lunch. She's OK with Paul taking it out on her, but she's angry that Paul is taking it out on everyone else. Toadie comes around and Rebecca requests his assistance but he can't help carry much with his crutches! He is happy to get a staff member to help, though.
TOADIE: Charlie's, huh? I thought you were getting your lunch orders from Lassiter's?
There's a really awkward pause and Toadie realises what's gone on and hastily makes an exit. More boxes are loaded and Rebecca wishes Michael luck. Kate is unimpressed with the lovey- dovey going on. She thinks it doesn't look good in front of everyone else.
REBECCA: Well it's not Michael's fault. He's still exactly the same person.
KATE: Well no, he's not. I mean, I didn't think he was this kind of guy.
REBECCA: What do you mean?
Before Kate can add more, Toadie returns with the last of the boxes so Mike and Kate head back to school.
Police Station Open Day
Lucas is strolling around picking up freebies while Mark joins him to talk about how great it is being a policeman: the variety, the problem solving, the action, sense of justice, serving the community. Mark volunteers Lucas for a demonstration that another detective is doing but Lucas declines. It's all sounding a little like a hard sell but Lucas gets an urgent call from David to head in to school for a meeting.
Erinsborough High
Michael is nervously sitting on a bench when Andrew walks past to goad him about the lunches...they were a little cold and a lot of the kids don't eat meat. Michael curtly tells him to keep moving while Lucas exits the room after his talk with David. He assures Mike that he stuck up for him by telling the truth that he's a great principal. Kate returns with an envelope of money for the lunches and David sees that he hasn't yet interviewed young Kate.
Erinsborough High - Office
David starts by letting Kate know that it's not an interrogation so she can relax. He asks whether Kate has had problems with Mr Williams - purely in regards to his standing as a principal. She tells David that Michael is a good principal because he's fair, he listens and he's very relaxed. David states that the kids didn't seem so thrilled this afternoon though. He knows that Michael had a falling out with the Lassiter's general manager which had a severe impact on the running of the school today. So much for it being purely about Michael's professional standards and so much for it not being an interrogation since Kate can't get a word in edgewise!
Erinsborough High - Classroom
Tash is at her locker when Andrew walks up wanting to know if she's heard the latest about her dad. She snootily replies that he should ask Michael himself.
ANDREW: Hey, I thought you'd be happy to see your dad getting into trouble with the big boss.
Really? I mean, I know Tash often comes off as a rude and ungrateful child, but does Andrew really think that she'd be thrilled at seeing her father get destroyed? Evidently he does though, because he thought that Tash was on the same page.
ANDREW: Do you remember what he did to my dad? Or is it fine to just go around having affairs, now.
I can't even believe he just said that. Tash wants Andrew to leave it out of school because she thinks her dad is a good principal and he's still her dad, but Andrew says that Mike deserves whatever he gets. He gets a text and goes off to meet...
Erinsborough High - Outside
...his father, who's obviously come by to give Andrew more of his dirty work. He wants to know what's going on with Michael's situation but Andrew doesn't know either so Paul wants him to lean on Tash for the information. Andrew has already tried that to no avail so Paul suggests taking things further. Could Andrew drum up support amongst other students?
Outside Harold's Store
Dec is on the phone with a potential employer who wants him to drop off his CV. Toadie encourages him to keep up with the house and job searching. Lucas drops by.
DECLAN: Hey! Guess Robocop was a dud date, then.
Speaking of the devil, Brennan turns up trying to get Lucas to go back to the open day. Lucas is fed up with what he thinks is Mark trying to recruit him; however Mark was only banging on about how great it is to be a policeman because he loves his job.
MARK: Lucas, you've got a record. There's no way you could join the force!
Mark is left to admit that he roped Lucas into it today because he was trying to keep an eye on him. Lucas angrily walks off while Toadie and Declan look awkwardly at Mark.
Erinsborough High
David is sitting in on a class as Michael tries to achieve calm. The students keep talking over him though so he shouts a detention threat in order to get some quiet. Andrew makes rude remarks as Mike is trying to tell the students about re- evaluating their subject choices, until another student walks in and hands Andrew a stack of papers. They have a petition calling for Michael's resignation. Tash pleads for Andrew not to do it, but everyone except for Tash and two other girls leave the room. David states the obvious: "I think we have a problem here, Michael".
Ramsay Street
Michael is loading his surfboard into his car when Paul happens to walk past with an opportunity to gloat about Michael being suspended. He almost crashes into Rebecca who has come strolling out of number 22 with a stack of papers in her hands. Paul is happy to say that he can add trespass and theft to the mix! Rebecca didn't do either though, since the documents are *theirs* and she still has a key to the house.
REBECCA: I'm starting divorce proceedings...and that includes dividing up our assets.
PAUL: You have no idea...
REBECCA: I spent a long time with you, Paul, and you taught me how to fight dirty. You've made my life hell. You've made people I love suffer. And now it's your turn.
Michael chucks a dirty look at Paul to complete the insult while Paul looks angry and worried.
