Number 24
Kate is putting lip- gloss on near the counter while Lucas picks up the plates from the dining table. While walking to put the plates on the counter, he comments that Kate scrubs up all right but she begs to differ. Lucas realises it's the big date tonight but Kate deflects this by saying it's just coffee and that it's no big deal. Lucas is only teasing and goes to answer the door when someone knocks, and it turns out that someone is Toadie. Toadie asks him if he has a few seconds to talk and apparently he does because he moves out the way and gives a hand gesture that suggests he come inside. Lucas shuts the door and turns around to face him...
TOADIE: You were right yesterday, I was a total idiot.
LUCAS: I'm glad you finally saw sense.
TOADIE: Yeah, and I do want to move on, with Sonya.
LUCAS: Well that's the smartest thing you've done for a while.
TOADIE: Yeah and there a few things I need to finalise.
LUCAS: Sounds serious.
TOADIE: You and Steph.
LUCAS: Ahh mate, I...
TOADIE: No, you were a big part of her life, and I really do wish that things were different.
Toadie gives the annulment papers to Lucas.
TOADIE: Yeah, Steph signed them before she went to jail and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind being a witness, for me.
LUCAS: Got a pen?
Luckily Toadie does, as he pulls one out of his pocket. Lucas scoffs and takes the pen to sign the papers.
Lassiter's
Lucas runs into Sonya who's walking outside the complex. They talk about Toadie getting Lucas to sign the annulment papers.
SONYA: Really?
LUCAS: Maybe we beat some sense into each other yesterday.
Sonya gives him a look, so he quickly changes the subject and asks if she wants to grab a coffee and she does, so off they go.
Kate and Mark are walking though the complex as well, just as Mark is asking if she wants to sit outside, Kate does, so they get a table. They sit down at their table and Mark asks if she is nervous, but Kate says why she would be? Mark seems to think she would be as she is on a date with a hot new guy but Kate takes him to task saying he is not up to her usual standard date and don't want people thinking that she has lowered her standards. At this point, Mark has noticed Donna lurking in a bush near where they are sitting and alerts Kate to this fact and Donna moves out of the scene.
MARK: I could arrest her for loitering and intent.
Kate is in disbelief and goes over to see Donna telling Mark she will be back in a second. She walks over to Donna who is apparently interested in a plant.
KATE: I know what you are doing.
DONNA: I was just looking at these patterns, aren't they amazing? I could do a whole clothing line of those patterns right there.
KATE: Donna.
DONNA: Yeah, OK I'm sorry but you two are so cute.
KATE: You promised you'd stay away.
Donna looks over at Mark, who is watching them and exclaims:
DONNA: He is hot.
KATE: Yeah, he knows.
DONNA: Have you kissed him yet?
KATE: Time to go.
DONNA: Told you all that preparation would come in handy.
KATE: Donna, go!
DONNA: Fine, I want details.
And Donna does leave then. Kate watches her friend walk away, shakes her head still in disbelief and walks back to her date.
Number 24
Donna is ambushing Kate about her date as Kate unlocks the door to her house.
DONNA: So how did it end?
KATE: It was good.
DONNA: How good?
Their chat gets derailed as Sophie and Callum enter from Sophie's room bantering about getting some new towels so Sonya will move in. Callum doesn't think she will move in just because of new towels, Sophie says she likes new towels as they walk out the door and out of the scene.
Kate wants to know what that was about, but Donna won't let her change the subject as Donna wants details about her date. Kate decides to give in as we would have been here all day if she didn't, so starts explaining that Mark is really nice, funny and good looking as they make there way to sit on the couch. Donna thinks he wears clothes very well and Kate agrees and also thinks he wouldn't be bad out of them either! Kate thinks Donna is hopeless but Donna's just excited for her and wants to know when the next date is. Kate doesn't know as there are complications. Kate says he investigated Paul's case but Donna thinks that is as good as over so Kate says there are other complications and in walks Declan - who is the other complication. He's there to pick her up for her driving lesson. Kate seemed to have forgotten about it.
DONNA: She's had a lot going on lately.
Declan doesn't seem happy to hear that, nevertheless, he says they can make it for another time but she does need to get her hours up. Kate agrees and says she will just get her things and he walks out while Kate turns to Donna and says it's complicated.
Ramsay Street
Kate drives up the road a bit and stops the car after her driving lesson. Declan explains that she is getting heaps better but Kate has something to say.
KATE: Declan...
DECLAN: You're getting your license and I'm just trying to help, and maybe I might get to spend some time with you, as mates, but so what we can't be friends?
KATE: Well, what, yes we can be friends, if that's what you really want.
DECLAN: Of course it is, I really miss hanging out with you.
KATE: Well, we are hanging out.
DECLAN: Well, before we went out we were really close mates.
KATE: Yeah, we were.
Kate and Declan smile at each other, apparently though, Kate thinks it's time she leaves so she gets out of the car. Once she's out of the car, her phone rings and Declan picks it up, there's a text message from Mark wanting to know if she wants to have lunch with him. While Kate's taking the mail from the mailbox outside the car, Declan decides to delete the message, then he gets out of the car and gives Kate her phone back. He then asks her if she has anything on for lunch and she doesn't so he suggests Charlie's with Donna. Kate agrees, saying she'll meet him there, she walks up her driveway while Declan smiles and walks the other way out of the scene.
Harold's Store
Susan is at a table, while Karl walks in and sits with her, Karl asks if she has order and the answer is yes, she got him raisin toast. Karl asks about Lyn not being in, Susan says she is taking the day off as Summer told her, she saw her at the gym that morning. Susan assures Karl he or Libby isn't to blame for Steph going to jail, he knows but it doesn't stop him from blaming himself. Susan thinks Lyn has got better things to be doing then blaming everyone, Karl agrees and says they should enjoy their breakfast as their breakfast is put on the table.
Sophie and Callum and Toadie walk in and while Toadie stands by the magazines, Sophie and Callum banter their way across to where the drinks are by seeing if they buy cushions to make Sonya move in, Sophie doesn't think it will work.
Karl tells Susan that Toadie blames them as well. He goes to get a drink and encounters Callum and asks how he is, Callum says he is fine and yells across the store to ask Toadie if they can get a dog, Sophie doesn't think that will work either. Callum says Sonya loves dogs and they should name it Rocky 2 after the movie. Toadie goes over to where they are and tells them they are not getting a dog, while Karl looks intrigued by their conversation.
Kennedys
Karl and Susan walk in the door with Karl exclaiming they have a lot of ground to make up and he just wants things to be on track. But Susan knows they can't force it and points to a picture of their kids and says that there is always a fight you just have to keep the lines of communication open. But Karl wants to do more than that. They go to sit on the couch and Susan says if he forces it he will make things worse and she uses Steph and Libby's situation as evidence. He counters that by saying Steph kept at it and Libby did come round and he thinks that they are going to have to do the same thing.
Charlie's
Lucas and Sonya are having coffee and Lucas is telling her that she could do a lot worse than living with Toadie and Callum but Sonya tells him it's not that. He tells her she can use his ute to move her stuff but then backtracks and says when she makes up her mind of course. She thanks him but thinks she needs more than a Ute. They get up to leave and encounter Declan, Kate and Donna who have just walked in. Sonya and Lucas leave as the trio grab a table and Donna exclaims that this is nice and Kate wonders what everyone is eating. Just then, Donna spots Mark walking in, she alerts Kate to this fact and tells her to go talk to him, but Kate doesn't want him to think she's stalking him as they just had coffee not that long ago. Donna thinks he would want to see her so Kate goes over to where Mark is at the counter and says hi. Mark turns around and says that his messages aren't up to their usual standard either but Kate has no idea about the text he sent. He thinks it was short notice anyway and it doesn't matter, Kate blames her phone. Mark thinks she has to make it up to him by having dinner with him. Kate thinks dinner is good, they smile and look pleased before Kate remembers that she is having lunch with Declan and Donna and tells Mark that she should get back to that, so she does. Kate sits back down just as Donna exclaims they have sparks between them. Kate tells her to shut up and apologises to Declan but Declan thinks Mark should join them. Kate thinks he's joking but apparently he is not as he yells to Mark to join them and he says thanks.
Cut to later, and the four some are playing pool. The teams are Donna and Declan verses Kate and Mark. Donna does a bad shot so Kate has a turn. Donna asks Mark if he wants to know how to put Kate off her game, he says Kate is on his side but he definitely wants to know. Donna says that if you talk about her loud enough so she can hear you. Kate says it's not working, but Donna tells her to take a shot which she does but she doesn't pot a ball and Kate thinks Donna is doing this on purpose but Mark knows what is going on because he is a cop. Donna and Kate go to get drinks leaving the boys alone as Declan takes his shot and pots a ball. Mark says nice shot and thanks him for inviting him to join them but he knows that this is never going to work, this whole thing with Kate, him and Declan pretending to be friends. But Declan thinks they are and pots another ball. Mark thinks Declan should do the right thing and let Kate move on. Declan says he wouldn't have invited him over if he had a problem with Mark seeing Kate. Declan says they are just mates, as the girls come back with the drinks. Kate and Mark toast their drinks and smile at each other with Kate asking who is winning.
Commercial Break
Charlie's
Kate is taking a shot and hits the black ball in, so Kate and Mark win and high five each other. Declan suggests going best out of three but Mark has to go back to work. Donna agrees to walk him out while telling Mark how to stay in Kate's good books. They leave with Kate warning Donna not to say anything embarrassing. Kate turns to Declan and thanks him for making an effort with Mark today. Declan says that Kate really likes him and she agrees and also thanks him because she knows that he doesn't. Declan informs Kate that he tried his best, but Mark is a cop and likes to intimidate people. Kate wants to know what Mark said, she that thinks Declan is causing trouble because Mark is investigating Paul's case. He dismisses that suggestion saying that when Kate and Donna got drinks, Mark warned Declan to stay away from her. Kate thinks that Mark wouldn't say that but Declan thinks he is threatened by their friendship. Kate thinks that Mark was joking and Declan says he probably just misunderstood and goes to get them another coffee, leaving Kate to think that over.
Lassiter's
Mark is tackling a criminal who was stealing a credit card from someone's purse. Some officers take the criminal away and Mark has a go at one of the officers telling him to keep this guy in line and to not let him escape or there will be trouble. Meanwhile Kate is watching this interaction across the complex and goes to talk to Mark. He says there's never a dull moment. Kate thinks it's exciting and tells him she will see him later. Mark is cool with that and walks off leaving Kate to think more about what Declan said after seeing that.
Number 24
Donna and Kate are sitting on the couch, while Donna is reading a magazine.
DONNA: This week you may cop a lot of criticism for your actions, but be true to yourself, stay the course and be set for the good times, OMG.
KATE: What, I don't get it.
DONNA: Cop a lot of criticism, cop, you're dating a cop!
KATE: Oh, yeah I guess.
Sophie and Callum enter the house still bantering about what to do to get Sonya to move in, apparently this time it's to do Sonya's washing but Sophie doesn't think that will change her mind. Kate wants to know why they are back early, apparently they were being annoying. Sophie thinks they should ask Zeke for ideas, now Callum thinks Sophie is being annoying. They walk into Sophie's room.
DONNA: Random!
Donna asks Kate what's wrong and Kate wants to know if Mark said anything weird to Donna when they left Charlie's. Donna informs her all he said was that Kate was amazing, blah, blah, blah, you get the picture. Donna thinks he's too nice. Lucas comes in and sits down on the other couch and says that cops can be scary when they want to be and uses Paul's case as an example. Kate thinks Mark is different when he's at work. Donna thinks Declan could have made it up, they give her a look, so she says she is just putting it out there, Lucas knows Declan has been a tool lately but how well does Kate know Mark? Kate says she doesn't.
DONNA: Dinner should be fun.
Number 30
Toadie answers the door to Karl who asks to come in and he gets given the green light He tells Toadie that he knows that he thought they were against him during Steph's case but Toadie knows he was against him. Karl admits that he is sorry it has come between them, Toadie's sorry too. They move to the lounge room and Toadie says he doesn't blame him for everything that has happened, but Karl does say he wasn't much help. Toadie knows Sam would have found a way anyway. Karl agrees. Karl tells Toadie he is part of their family and he knows that he probably doesn't want to hear it but if he ever needs to talk, he's there for him. Toadie nods and thanks him for coming over. Karl finally remembers why he came over and that is to give him a blank sheet of paper. He has a way for Sonya to move in as he overheard Toadie talking about in the store before.

Sonya clocks that Karl and Toadie have made up, which they tell her they have, which means it is time for Karl to leave, which he does. Callum wants Toadie to get on with it as Sonya wants to know what's up but Callum and Sophie don't know, all they know is that Toadie has had his grin face on ever since they arrived. Toadie starts off by telling Sonya that they are more than just a couple, they are a family, and he thinks that if she won't move in with them then they will move in with her, he shows her a painting of the three of them as a family, Callum thinks it's awesome and Sonya looks freaked out.
Ramsay Street
Declan is hitting the boxing gloves while Lucas is holding the pads.
LUCAS: We could have just gone for a run you know?
Declan thinks boxing is better so Lucas asks about Mark but Declan thinks he can handle him. Lucas thinks he didn't have to tell Kate about it but Declan says he was looking out for her, being a mate. Lucas doesn't look convinced. They swap places. Lucas starts hitting the pads and wants to know if he and Kate are just friends. According to Declan they are, they both have to move on. Declan says it doesn't matter how much you're supposed to be with someone if it doesn't work out then you have to move on. Just at that point Lucas misses the pads and hits Declan in the face. He goes to see if he is all right which he is and now thinks they should have gone for a run!
Harold's Store
Toadie finds Susan and Karl at a table and thanks him for his help today and also apologises for having a go at them - he just needed someone to lash out at. Susan thinks it's been an awful time and informs Toadie that Libby is seeing Ben so he will just wait till she gets back. Karl tells him to ring her. Toadie and goes over to where Callum and Sophie are sitting as Callum wants to know why Sonya told them to meet her here. Toadie just says she needed some time. Sonya walks up behind them and says she has thought about it and the answer is yes. She and Toadie hug then Callum, Sonya and Toadie have a group hug but Sonya wants them to keep the painting in the garage as it freaks her out. Karl is shocked to hear this.
Cut to later, Sonya, Toadie, Callum and Sophie all are sitting down at their table with coffee and milkshakes. Sonya wants to know what plan B was, so Callum and Sophie act it out.
SOPHIE: Callum was going to pretend to be Toadie.
CALLUM: Sophie was going to pretend to be you.
SONYA: Let's see it.
CALLUM: Sonya, I'm so glad you decided to move in and you have to remember one thing - wrestling DVDs are compulsory.
SOPHIE: Oh Jarrod, we're going to be so happy after I burn the DVD player!
Toadie thinks this is when they kiss, and Sophie and Callum looks grossed out.
Toadie says he thinks she made the right decision and Sonya agrees. They kiss.
Kate comes over to interrupt, she tells them if she starts an hour early then she can finish on time, to be ready for her date. Declan walks in and approaches them, Kate immediately sees where Declan got hit and asks what happened. Declan says it's nothing but Kate thinks it doesn't look like nothing.. Kate wants to know how he did it and Declan quickly says it was an accident. Declan says it's no big thing but Kate wants to know if Mark did this. Declan doesn't put her straight and says it looks worse than it is and Kate can't believe it and walks out the store with Declan trying to call her back to no avail, he now has a big smile on his face.

Police Station
Mark gets out of a police car just as Kate gets off her bike. Mark is surprised to see her and wants to know if she is OK and if there is anything wrong?
KATE: I saw what you did to Declan's face.
MARK: What about it?
KATE: So you're just denying it or you're not bothered?
MARK: Well, it might help if you tell me what I've done.
KATE: Well, you went and warned Declan to stay away from me and then you got physical.
MARK: Is that what he said?
KATE: Well, why would he lie?
MARK: I could think of a few reasons.
KATE: Oh, what, so he just punched himself in the face?
MARK: I don't know what has happened to his face.
KATE: Yeah, you wouldn't know that wouldn't you?
MARK: Look forget it (Starting to walk away).
KATE: What, you're just going to walk away?
MARK: I don't have time for games, Kate, so yeah, I'm walking away.
