Recap
- Toadie and Sonya breaking up
- Callum telling Sonya they'll always be friends
- Toadie not realising he's working for Paul
Number 30
Toadie's on the phone to Paul telling him that he can do his own dirty work from now on. He hangs up just as Steph arrives home with Donna, Kate and Callum in tow. The girls have been helping Steph choose fabric for her wedding dress and teasing Callum about wearing "meggings" (men's leggings). Callum takes Rocky to see Ben and Steph realises Toadie's in a quiet mood but Toadie says he's fine.
Harold's Store
Callum's chatting with Ben when they realised Rocky has wandered off to the other side of the shop. Callum reckons Rocky's training was going well until Sonya stopped helping them. Ben says he should get Sonya onboard again - especially since they're still friends. Callum seeks out Lucas and asks for Sonya's number, he's only got her work one and it's disconnected. Lucas is unsure but Callum says Sonya doesn't need to see his dad, so Lucas agrees to call Sonya on Cal's behalf.
Number 30
Paul stops by to see Toadie, but Toad doesn't want anything to do with his immoral and corruptive working ways. Paul reminds Toadie he needs money for the upcoming wedding and baby expenses, but Toadie just sighs and tells him to leave.
Number 28
Donna and Zeke are playing a Wii driving game while Kate, Declan and Ringo look on. Zeke gloats that he just beat his high score and gives himself a high- five, but Donna moans that she'll never get her licence tomorrow considering she has no hand- eye coordination. Zeke's test is today and Karl gets the keys to take him there while Donna frets about needing to find her lucky shoes.
Number 22
Donna rips the couch apart looking for her shoes while Declan, Kate and Ringo try and get her to chill out. She's determined to find her lucky shoes, though, because they give her just the right feel for the pedals. Ringo doesn't get why Donna's so worried - she knew how to drive before he did. But Donna's more worried about retaining all the road rules rather than the driving itself. Lucas walks in the door, leaving a voicemail message for Sonya, and overhears Donna's concerns. He knows just how to help her.
Ramsay Street
Donna drives Lucas's huge arse monster ute into the street with Lucas in the passenger seat. If she can drive that beast she can drive anything. The teens ask how she went, and Donna says she mucked up a lot of little things, but Lucas says she did well. Karl returns with Zeke, who passed his driving test (only getting four minor faults). Lucas and Karl get into a friendly competition about who is the better driving instructor, so Donna and Kate head inside to find Donna's shoes. Left to their own devices, the teens end up making a bet - if Donna gets less points deducted than Zeke, they get to paint Zeke's (aka Karl's) car, and if Zeke wins they get to redecorate Donna's (aka Lucas's) car. Lucas is about to protest along with Karl when he gets a call from Sonya.
Harold's Store
Lucas tells Sonya she's looking well and then explains he's playing the middleman for Callum, who needs help with Rocky. Sonya knows it'll be awkward but it'd be good to see him again. Lucas then tentatively tells her that Steph and Toadie are getting married - he just wanted her to be prepared. Sonya looks a bit shaken and Lucas asks if she still wants to see Callum.
Lassiter's Park
Callum's stoked that Sonya's helping he and Rocky out - Rocky really misses her. Sonya smiles and says she really misses Rocky too. Callum starts to talk about Toadie but then feels guilty and gives Sonya a hug, but Sonya says it'll just take a bit of getting used to. They start training but then Sonya sees Toadie in the background smiling at them and says Callum better get Rocky home.
Harold's Store
Toadie's buying some groceries with Callum, but Cal can see that his dad is distracted. Callum says that he doesn't have to hang out with Sonya anymore if it makes him uncomfortable, but Toadie says he's fine with it. They're about to pay when Sonya walks in. Her eyes meet with Toadie for a second before a guy comes over to greet her with a kiss on the cheek - seems like someone has themselves a new boyfriend. Toadie's upset and walks out without his food leaving Callum confused and Sonya looking sad.
First Commercial Break
Number 30
Toadie stares blankly at the TV while Steph sleeps curled up against him on the couch. Callum quietly says goodnight and heads for his room.
Charlie's Bar
Sonya's eating dinner with her new man but she looks distracted.
Number 30
Toadie gently wakes Steph up and says they should probably go to bed, but he lingers in the lounge room while she heads into the hallway.
Charlie's Bar
Sonya's still staring into space when Lucas stops by for a chat. She introduces him to her new man, David, and the boys start chatting about motorbikes while Sonya absently plays around with the bracelet Toadie gave her.
Number 30
Toadie looks at a photo of himself and Sonya in happier times on his phone with a sad smile.
Charlie's Bar
Sonya's looking at the same photo on her phone dithering over whether or not to delete it. She glances over at David, who gives her a smile, so she turns her phone off - but still doesn't delete the pic.
Number 30
Toadie throws his phone down on the couch in frustration and heads off to bed.
Number 22 - Next Morning
The teens have rallied around to wish Donna good luck for her test. Kate gives her a good luck witch doll, Declan gives her one of India's booties and Lucas gives her his lucky red bandana. Things are dandy until Zeke reveals that they made a bet on who would ace the driving test better and Donna starts to freak out. She claims that she can't go through with the test but Ringo says she's just trying to find an excuse to chicken out. He pulls a reverse psychology manoeuvre on her, which encourages her to still go for the test.
Second Commercial Break
Road Somewhere
Donna's in the car with a driving instructor and is onto her final stage of the test - parallel parking in three moves or less. She has Kate's lucky witch sitting up the back of the car, the bootie hanging in the front and Lucas's bandana around her wrist and uses them all as guiding points to get her into the correct parking position. Donna asks the instructor how she went but she's not forthcoming with any answers.
Harold's Store
Donna glides into the shop with Lucas and happily tells the teens that she aced the test. She proudly shows them her new licence.
DONNA: And look my photo's hot. I wouldn't leave until I got my hair perfect.
Donna then gloats about the fact that she only got three minor faults so Zekey boy lost the bet. Zeke tries to say that the bet became null and void, but they're not letting him get away with it. Ringo and Donna share a nice moment about Ringo talking her back into taking the test - which doesn't go unnoticed by Zeke, Declan and Kate.
Ramsay Street
Ringo, Declan and Zeke are spraying Karl's car with heaps of silly string, much to Karl's despair. Karl tells Zeke that he'll be cleaning everything up but Zeke's all, "Yeah, yeah" and sprays him with some string. Kate stands with Donna and has a smirk about her little moment with Ringo, but Donna just plays it down and asks Kate when she's going for her licence. Kate teases that she'll only learn if Declan teaches her in his car. They all get into a silly string war.
Number 30
Toadie's looking at the photo of he and Sonya again when Paul rings him. Toadie just gets annoyed and ignores the call. Steph arrives home with some shopping, laughing about the state of Karl's car. She tells Toadie that her mum's due back home tomorrow but she'll handle the wedding stuff when Lyn gets back. Toadie says they should do it as a team, but Steph knows he needs a break from Lyn. She encourages him to go and do something nice for himself for a change.
Harold's Store
Toadie finds Callum and Ben chatting with Sonya and tells the kids that Sophie's looking for them. Sonya takes this as her cue to leave but Toadie asks her to stay for a moment.
TOADIE: If I'm going to send Callum away I should actually say what I wanted to say.
SONYA: Look it's OK, Toadie. I know you're getting married, Lucas told me.
TOADIE: And you're seeing someone. In which case...
SONYA: Just don't do that, Jarrod...
TOADIE: No I don't want to destroy anything that you have. It's just that Callum really misses you. Actually, I was kind of wondering if there was any chance we could be friends again?
Sonya doesn't quite know what to say to that.
Third Commercial Break
Harold's Store
It seems like the answer was 'yes' as Sonya and Toadie are having a drink together. They're quite shy and awkward around one another like teenagers, and keep accidentally bumping hands smiling goofily at one another. Toadie wonders that since they're now friends that means they could meet for a green tea every now and then. Sonya smiles and says that would be good. David arrives and reminds Sonya they've got movie tickets to use. Sonya introduces him to Toadie, who shakes his hand, and things are just lovely and awkward like always.
