Number 24
Kate is hunting for a top for her date with Kyle, and is asking for Harry's help on the fashion front. Harry isn't helping, and reminds his sister that Kyle's a loser; Kate says she won't wait around for Declan to make up his mind. The phone rings and it's Lou - on a split screen with the Ramsays - to whom Harry announces that Kate is dating Kyle.
Lou demands to speak to Kate who confirms she's going out with Kyle, which Lou tries to encourages her not to. He tells her that Kyle isn't good for her, and thinks she might need a chaperone on her date with him. Giving the phone back to Harry, Kate ponders what to do.
Harold's Store
Kate, on the phone to Donna, wonders if it's awful to use Kyle, and thinks she should bail out of their date. Declan comes in and asks to talk about why she hasn't returned his phonecalls. She declares she's been busy, but Dec wonders if she's trying to make him jealous.
KATE: Here's a little news flash, Declan: the whole world doesn't revolve around you.
DEC: Okay. Great. So, um, are you still going to see him?
Kate confirms they're having dinner and a movie.
Charlie's
Over at the bar Rebecca serves an upbeat Susan and a sulky Lyn her new fair- trade coffee. Lyn isn't impressed, but Susan loves it. Lyn can't believe that Susan brought her here for breakfast, but Susie promises she had no idea ReRebecca was back from Oakey. Mmmm, Oakey...perhaps she and Steve are still having their secret affair. No? Okay. Just me then.
Susan suggests to Lyn that they have another go at the Singles' night so that she can meet someone. Lyn doesn't want to: she has a business to run and gets Oscar back soon - there's too much going on. Susan assures Lyn that she knows dating is scary, but Lyn thinks it's undignified.
SUSAN: You've got to put yourself out there! Meet new people!
LYN: This coming from the woman who married the same man three times.
SUSAN: Well...
It's a fair cop. Lyn doesn't think she can anyway - not with Miss Fairtrade trying to rub her nose in it.
SUSAN: You've got to put Paul in the past.
LYN: Already have.
ReRebecca comes over with free tickets for her new Mixology night - she could do with an older lady in the mix...
Harold's Store
...where we cut to Paul and ReRebecca discussing Lyn's new cooking class for the unattached - on the same night as Rebecca's Mixology class. ReRebecca is furious, but refuses to lower herself to Lyn's level, and doesn't react publicly. Paul is still annoyed, though, and isn't sure he can rise above it. On seeing the Robinsons leave, Lyn is confused that they haven't seemingly taken the bait.
Number 26
Lyn has gotten cake for her and Susie, complaining that ReRebecca thinks she's trying to get back at her.
SUSAN: And are you?
LYN: Oh, please! As if I want any more trouble from Paul and Rebecca!
Lucas appears, walking with a limp, on the phone to Toadie. He assures him he's fine with Steph calling her friend rather than him, but is obviously still a bit upset. Lyn tries to reassure Lucas that Steph will come around, but Lucas is leaving to go out.
Back in the kitchen Lyn and Susan get back to their cake, but there's another knock at the door and it's Paul.
PAUL: You're deliberately sabotaging Rebecca's Singles' Night, aren't you?
LYN: I don't know what you're talking about, are you feeling alright?
PAUL: You know, you set yourself up in competition with my wife, you set yourself up in competition with me.
LYN: Well, then, that's not a fair fight, is it?
PAUL: You're not going to get away with this, Lyn.
LYN: Gosh, I'm busy.
And with that, she slams the door in his face and walks off.
SUSAN: What happened to moving on!?
She can't believe that Lyn's provoking Paul into the next battle, but Lyn claims Paul just won't leave her alone. Psycho.
Charlie's
Paul wants Rebecca to get back at Lyn, but she refuses to play games.
REBECCA: Why can't we just ignore her?
PAUL: Because she is SO annoying.
Kyle walks in, on his mobile, talking to a mate about how he should approach his date with Kate - flowers, or no? Lucas listens in, smiling, and offers Kyle advice: he should take the flowers.
KYLE: (with no hint of irony) Hey, you used to go out with that hottie reporter, right? Ellen? So you know about punching above your weight.
LUCAS: Ouch. Her name was Elle, and that's unfortunately history.
Lucas's advice is to take flowers if he really likes her.
KYLE: I usually go for the easy ones. But Kate - I don't know. She's different.
Declan walks in, wondering why Lucas is advising Kyle, and starts sparring with Kyle, who walks out.
Ramsay Street
Paul pulls up outside number 22, to find Lyn doing a letterbox drop about her Singles' cooking class. Lyn has hooked a celebrity guest to come along and cook, and thinks she can win this fight. Paul is sure he'll outsell Lyn two to one. In fact, if they win, Lyn can cancel her event. Lyn agrees - but if *she* wins, then Paul has to shout Lyn to a classy dinner.
PAUL: You know what? I would rather run down this street naked than do that.
LYN: I'd like to see that.
PAUL: Alright. You're on.
Number 24
Paul is trying to get Harry to go door- to- door selling Mixology tickets, but Harry's not up for it - he can't get involved with promoting alcohol, the DHS won't like it. Paul gets a call from Donna who also says she can't help, not even as a favour to Rebecca.
Lassiter's Complex
Kate's reading a magazine outside Harold's when Declan comes over to apologise. He was out of line, and hope she has a good time with Kyle. Lyn comes over, tries to persuade Kate and Dec to go to her cooking class. Kate refuses, but takes some for Harry and his friends, under pressure from Lyn.
Paul, watching the ticket exchange, spies Susan, and tries to persuade her to attend the Mixology class whilst Karl's away.
SUSAN: Aha. Been there, done that.
PAUL: Mmmm. So I've heard. People have been asking after you.
Paul walks off, leaving Susan shocked. He tries to sell a ticket to Lucas, when Lyn also comes over, and tries to sell her cooking class instead. Lucas accepts her offer.
Charlie's
Kate comes in, hiding by the bar. Deciding she can't go through with it, she calls Donna - but finds she's accidentally called Lou instead. She tells Lou she doesn't think she can do it, but he tells her not to back out now. She can't stand him up.
KATE: I'm not really that into him.
LOU: How would you feel if it was your feelings being hurt?
KATE: You know, I don't even think Kyle has feelings.
Lou tells Kate to be polite - and make sure Kyle keeps his hands to himself. Getting up the courage, Kate approaches the table, and Kyle offers her a bunch of flowers, telling her she looks really nice. He also asks: is she seeing him just to get at Declan? She doesn't mind if she is, but wants to know. Kate denies it, she wants to get to know Kyle better...and actually looks as if she means it.
Harold's Store
Lyn and Paul count their sold tickets in front of Susan.
PAUL: You cheated. I demand a recount.
SUSAN: Oh, give it up, Paul. It's not the UN. You lost.
LYN: Which makes you the loser.
SUSAN: Honestly, how old are you two? I'm going home. Zeke's going to teach me how to Skype Karl.
Paul can't believe Lyn won, so she demands he take his clothes off and do a lap of the street. Lyn changes her mind - he has to take her to dinner instead. Paul doesn't want to do that, and Lyn realises that ReRebecca didn't know about the bet. Paul agrees to take Lyn to dinner as long as she keeps her mouth shut. Happy, Lyn rushes her customers out the store.
Number 22
Paul comes home to ReRebecca and Declan saying he has a problem with the paper and can't make dinner. He rushes out again. Declan is moping about Kate and isn't hungry either, so Rebecca's dinner will probably go cold.
ReRebecca encourages her son to go talk to Kate, but he says he doesn't want to - she's on a date and he's not interfering. ReRebecca wonders if his not being hungry and not wanting to talk is a sign of how he really feels - and, realising what he wants, Declan leaves.
Charlie's
Kyle is teaching Kate how to play pool, and wraps his arms around hers to show her how to use the cue. She's enjoying herself, but Declan walks in and assumes Kyle's cracking onto her. He pulls Kyle off her, calling him a sleaze. Declan tells Kate he doesn't want her with this guy, but Kate storms out.
Harold's Store
Lyn is taking her time getting ready for dinner, and comes out all in black, a sparkly top and heels. She asks Paul to lock the back door whilst she closes up, but ReRebecca comes in wanting to buy milk.
Looking genuinely panicked, Lyn says she can't serve Bec, who wonders why Lyn's all dressed up.
PAUL: You know, you really should get that lock fixed, it's practically hanging off...
He sees his wife.
REBECCA: What is this? Crisis at the paper?
PAUL: Oh Rebecca, this is not what it looks like, honestly. It was a bet that I made with Lyn. She sold more tickets than Mixology because of the celebrity guest which meant I had to take her out to dinner...bottom line, she blackmailed me.
Not wanting to let Lyn have the final say, ReRebecca is fine with it: it's all out in the open, so she and Paul can go home. Together. Lyn looks rather pleased with herself.
Number 26
ReRebecca has come over to see Lyn - who offers her milk from her fridge. ReRebecca tells Lyn she won't win Paul back: it's so obvious she's still in love with him. Lyn is alarmed, but realises that Paul doesn't realise ReRebecca has come over. Lyn thinks that ReRebecca is worried that Paul likes sparring with her. Loves it, in fact.
LYN: It brings him to life in a way he never is with you, doesn't it?
ReRebecca is disgusted - she won't let Lyn come between her and husband. Lyn points out that she already has.
