Number 26
Lyn calls Steph and anxiously leaves a message on her answerphone while Lucas reads the note again.
A road somewhere
Steph has pulled over and is sitting staring into space. Charlie asks if they're nearly there which snaps her out of her thoughts. While she scrabbles around for the map memories flash through her head of kissing Dan, of telling Charlie to play with his toys and of sitting in the bathroom looking at a positive pregnancy test. She bursts into tears and Charlie asks why she's crying.
STEPH: I'm ok mate, I'm ok. Everything is going to be fine.
Number 28
Toadie has popped over to see if there has been any word from Steph. Karl hasn't seen her since she left the bar and says that Susan has been with him all night.
KARL: She's gone to bed early. Had a bit of a big one.
Toadie looks alarmed and quickly leaves. Karl returns to Zeke and Mia and they chat about Mia's plan. Karl is impressed to hear that she got into Sydney to study Law and tells her that Zeke got good results but is going to waste a year deciding what to do. Mia is the epitome of diplomacy and loyalty. She leaves and Karl raves about how nice she is. He wants to check his emails and finds the website Zeke and Mia were looking at still open. He thinks it's absolutely disgraceful what happens.
KARL: I'm all for animal rights but these people are preventing important medical research.
Number 24
There's a full moon over Ramsay Street and wolves are howling at the doors...or something. Inside number 24 Sophie, Harry and Lou are watching Twilight except Lou doesn't think they make them like they used to. He goes to make popcorn and finds Kate messing around with a photo frame. When she goes to bed he sees that she has swapped her prom picture with Declan for a bobble hatted photo of herself and her siblings. Ralph Laurentastic.
Harold's
Roz from the DHS is on the phone and Kate thinks that the best thing about Lou is that she doesn't have to deal with all that now. They're getting a visit next week. Declan comes in buys a ton of awkward and leaves. Harry worries about Kate, but she just needs to be left alone. He relays this message to Lou who doesn't buy any of it.
Charlie's
Zeke has met Mia's eco- warrior friends and is trying to be all cool and hippy vegan and worthy. Mia goes to get drinks when Donna comes in and is curious to know who Mia is. Zeke reminds her about GI Jane of schoolies and Donna can see that she still likes Zeke.
ZEKE: How can you tell?
DONNA: Because she's jealous...
Mia is throwing Donna hackies. Donna gets a call from Lou but before she leaves she gives Zeke a kiss on the cheek to move things along. Mia comes back and wants to know more about Donna and thinks that Zeke is a bit of a surprise packet.
ZEKE: So when's the next raid?
Mia doesn't want Zeke involved in the raid stuff because she doesn't want him getting into trouble. As we all know, however, Zeke can make his own decisions and wants to join in with the next one. Mia still says no and besides the other guys have to be ok with it and they don't like newbies. Zeke convinces her to talk to them and she leaves. Does ANYBODY in Australia finish a drink?
Harold's
Toadie is on the phone leaving another message for Steph. He and Karl talk about how unlike Steph it is to take off and how confused Lucas must be. Harry comes in to see how Kate is doing. Lou says she'll be alright soon as he's enlisted Donna to take Kate out for the afternoon. Harry is mad because Kate just wants to be left alone, but Lou knows best. What she wants and what she says she wants are two different things - the same is true of all women.
HARRY: You've been in our lives five minutes. I think I know my sister better than you do.
He storms out as Sophie comes in wondering what's wrong. Lou packs her off to eat ice cream and Karl comes over to see how things are going.
LOU: I think I went over the top again.
KARL: You?!
LOU: It's just that Harry is used to being the man about the house, must be very strange to have another one there.
KARL: Yes, I had problems with Zeke once upon a time. I think you'll be alright with the girls, but with Harry, you'll have to tread carefully.
Charlie's
Zeke and Declan are playing darts until Mia comes looking for Zeke. Her friends said he's in. Zeke promises not to let her down. The raid is tonight so they need to get him ready.
Number 28
Mia fills a rucksack with all the essentials and briefs Zeke on what they're going to do. He's interested to know if they've ever had any close calls. She's concerned that he's getting cold feet and reminds him it's not a game and he needs to be committed otherwise he's a liability. He's committed 100%.
Harold's
For some reason Toadie has taken over in the kitchen to give Lou a rest. There is a lot of clattering. Lou is still worrying about his fall out with Harry and thinks Harry has a point, he has only just become their guardian. He thinks he's been out of the game too long. Karl thinks that's nonsense and reminds him that he did a good job with Lolly, and that wasn't so long ago.
LOU: Lolly was crying out for help. These kids are much more mature. Maybe I should back off, it's obviously what Harry wants.
KARL: You're their guardian Lou. It comes with the territory.
Sophie overhears the whole conversation.
Number 24
Harry wants to know whether Sophie wants sausages or chops for tea. She wants meatloaf because Lou makes the best meatloaf ever. She tells Harry off for being mean to Lou. Harry says that Lou shouldn't have stuck his nose in. Kate wanted to be left alone.
Harold's
Karl is annoyed that his new glasses from Milan have been lost in transit. He's going to have to go over and chase them up. Toadie thinks finds this potential storylines as ridiculous as the rest of us sitting at home.
TOADIE: Tight- wad Karl nipping over to Milan for a pair of glasses!
Karl explains that Rachel has got into Oxford and he's going to visit Holly too AND the airline gives him one free stopover. I doubt he's flying with Bonzair then! He tells Lou to hang in there, it'll all settle down.
Number 24
Sophie is still fighting Lou's corner reminding Harry that he'd still be in foster care if it wasn't for him. Harry tells her that Kate needed some space and Lou has probably just made things worse.
Animal Testing Centre
The warriors are in. They've got twenty- five minutes. Zeke is in charge of uploading a virus to corrupt all the hard drives in the lab. He looks unsure but goes ahead and does it. Mia does her work with the spray paint. The others grab the animals and get out. Security comes around so Zeke and Mia have to duck down. Dun dun daaa.
Harold's
Harry is still refusing to apologise to Lou and Sophie is still cross. Donna and Kate arrive back. They've had the best day. Things are still awkward between Kate and Declan but get better when Donna invites them to see a 3D movie with her and Ringo at the weekend. Kate goes to get the coffees in and gives Lou a big hug and a thank you. Time off was exactly what she needed. Never mind meatloaf, Harry needs a slice of humble pie. He asks Lou to teach him how to make amazing meatloaf and all is well again.
Animal Testing Centre
The bunnies etc are loaded into the van and are taken off to a better home. Zeke and Mia are left alone but Mia can't find the USB. They have to go back in case it has her finger prints on it as she wasn't wearing gloves when she packed it. Rookie mistake man. They run back in and Zeke finds it straight away. Mia kisses him and Zeke tells her that he's had an awesome night - he'll never get to sleep. Mia suggests that they could burn off some excess energy together. The security guard just passed, they've got a good twenty minutes. OMG - this is new lingo for "taking it to the next level". NOoooo Zeke! Not in a lab. Aw, after all that "waiting for the right time" with Taylah and Sunny it all comes down to a quicky in a place he is meant to find morally reprehensible. Disappointing. I hope they have protection!
As they run from the building Zeke declares it the best night of his life ever. Hmm.
Number 24
The best meatloaf ever has been consumed and the happy family vibe is bouncing off the walls. Harry reckons it's time for a new family photo. The girls go to get themselves ready and Lou tells Harry that he's a good bloke, and he knows he was only looking out for his sister, but he promises him that he only has their best interests at heart. Toadie pops over to borrow a DVD which is handy as they could use a photographer. The phone rings and Lou goes to answer. It seems to be bad news about Lauren!
After the break Lou confides in Toadie that the call was from a Hospital in Brisbane. Lauren has had a horse riding accident. Lou knows he should be there, but he can't leave the Ramsay kids, especially as the DHS are visiting next week. He can't take the risk.
