Recap
- Saffron telling Donna she'll give her a 1 week 'observership'.
- Donna telling Elle to go to New York
- Susan busting Lyn and finding out that she was going to print a story on Libby (and then shouting at her for it)
- Paul busting Lyn in his office
Paul's office
Paul is leaning over Lyn, who's sat in his chair. He demands an explanation!
LYN: You told me to dig deeper...
PAUL: [shouting] NOT HERE! Not in my office, Lyn!
Lyn jumps at his shouting and looks a bit scared a bit like she might cry. She says she was writing an article on him. Unsurprisingly, Paul doesn't believe her and asks her again what she's doing. Lyn begins to cry.
PAUL: Ok, how about a simpler question: how did you get in.
Lyn holds up a hairclip.
LYN: Advanced hairdressing skills.
Paul backs off and sits on the desk opposite her and dials for the police. Lyn tells him to hang up - they can talk.
Number 28
Susan opens the door to Lyn.
SUSAN: What do you want?
LYN: I want to thank you...I am so sorry.
Susan barely looks at Lyn. Susan says that nothing she can say will change things.
LYN: At least we've deleted the article.
SUSAN: Well, that's hardly the point, is it?!
LYN: I should never have written the damn thing, especially about Libby.
SUSAN: Oh, I don't know, anyone's fair game for a gossip columnist. Even your best friend's daughter...your daughter's best friend!
Lyn begins to cry and apologises.
SUSAN: You were totally prepared to hurt Libby.
LYN: I wasn't thinking clearly. Paul was pressuring...
SUSAN: [angry]Oh! Lyn, everything is Paul's fault! Just grow up and take responsibility for the hurt you've caused!
Lyn cries, and Susan's voice breaks.
SUSAN: [quietly]I thought you were my friend.
Susan slams the door and Lyn cries some more.
Number 24
Kate's feet are very sore from all the practicing she's been doing for the dancing. Sophie brings her a bowl of water with lavender oil in it. Kate hopes she'll be able to dance for the showcase and Sophie says of course she will - and Jason Coleman will think she's ace.
Kate's phone rings and it's Donna panicking about what to wear for her first day. Donna wants her to go over and help her - but Kate says she can't walk because of her feet! Donna can't take *everything* to hers though so she just has to talk her through what she has.
Donna thinks it's a disaster and Kate tells her she looks good in whatever she wears. Kate tells her to close her eyes and imagine tomorrow and what she's wearing. Donna knows what to wear! She thanks Kate and goes to prepare for her first day.

Saffron's fashion place
Donna is whisked away to "shoes" by a lady named Lindsay - and struggles to get a word in edgeways. She's to stick adhesive to the bottom of the shoes - and there are a lot of boxes. Donna's a bit surprised as she thought she'd be working with Saffron - but Lindsay tells her they all start in shoes.
Saffron appears and sends Donna on a coffee run. Lindsay gives her a list, and instructions about the coffees - including that Saffron likes her coffee hot, get that right otherwise she'll kill you. Donna looks a bit shell-shocked.
Harold's Store
In the kitchen, Steph slams down a copy of the Erinsborough News, which has the headline: Gossip Collumnist Revealed! and a picture of Lyn. Steph tells her this is wrong, and it's the last straw.
In walks Paul (because the kitchen is obviously a free-for-all walk-in centre) who wants Lyn's files. Lyn refuses to give them over - he printed a story about her. Paul defends himself - he had to print something as she deleted the perfectly lovely story about Libby.
In walks Susan, who is looking for Paul. Steph shows her the paper - has she seen it?! Susan looks at Lyn in shock.
PAUL: A bit pointless deleting the e-mail if you don't clear the trash folder first. (Susan looks at Paul) Yes, I knew you were there - she couldn't have done it on her own, could she?
LYN: Please Paul, don't print it.
PAUL: [loudly and slowly] I believe you have some files for me.
He gives in - he won't write the article. Lyn hands over the files. He'll print it if he finds out she's holding out on him though.
Paul leaves and Susan and Steph look angrily at Lyn.
LYN: Well, at least he's not going to print the story about Libby.
Susan walks out. Steph looks at her mum, and then does the same. Lyn cries.
Number 22
Paul says he'll miss Elle - but he knows she has big things ahead of her. He gives her a present - a new bag! Elle admits there's been a change of plan...and in walks Lucas.
PAUL: Oh you've got to be kidding me. You've chosen that (he point to Lucas) over a plum job in New York?!
She loves him! Paul says he doesn't love her otherwise he wouldn't be ruining her life. She's made the wrong choice.
Saffron's fashion place
Donna runs in to deliver the coffees (with her credited 'coffee assistant') - she apologises as the Café was miles away! She gives Saffron her coffee, and everyone breathes a sigh of relief when Saffron says "good". They continue their meeting - their star model has twisted her ankle. Saffron turns to Donna - she wants an idea from 'left field'.
DONNA:[quietly] Left field..yep, I can do that. It's like Goal Attack in Netball.
She stands.
DONNA: Err, well...we are in a global economic crisis...
SAFFRON: And how does that relate to our model cancellation?
DONNA: When things are doom and gloomy people want to go out and 'get their dance on'.
SAFFRON: Dance?
DONNA: Dance. Fun. Going out. We're selling glamour here, we're selling excitement. When the mood is black we need the colours to be colourful and...and...
SAFFRON: And?
DONNA: And have I got a dancer for you!
She shows Saffron some picture of Kate dancing from her phone.
Saffron likes her - she's pretty. Donna slips in that Kate is from teh Ministry of Dance and is very good. Cut to Kate with her feet up in pain. Donna knows she'll do it.
Harold's Store
Donna is on her knees, whilst Kate is sat with her feet up at a table.
DONNA: Please, Kate. Pleaaaase.
KATE: Donna, get up!
DONNA: Say yes.
Kate explain that her feet are killing her and she doesn't even know if she'll make it to the end of her shift. Lyn listens in on their conversation - what's wrong with her feet. Kate says there's no problem. Donna explains she needs this for a job - if Kate doesn't do this, she can kiss goodbye to it.
KATE: If I could help you, I would.
Donna pleads some more - this is her one and only chance. Lyn pipes up from the background.
LYN: You've got to stick by your friends. Otherwise...there'll come a day when they won't wanna know you anymore and your dreams will turn to dust. That's all I'm saying.
Donna, Kate and Sophie look a bit confused! Kate says she's been strange since the article came out. Donna thinks she's right - friends do have to stick together.
KATE: That's blackmail.
DONNA: Absolutely.
Kate gives in - she'll do it! Donna hugs her, and runs out of the store.
Number 22
Paul won't give Elle her job back - he wants someone with ambition. Lucas tells her not to worry - another paper will have her, one better than the Erinsborough News! Paul takes his present back - until she goes to New York. Lucas tells Paul this isn't what Elle wants - it's what he wants.
DONNA: You've got to follow your passions. That's what I'm doing.
PAUL: Passion only get you into strife, I should know that.
LUCAS: You're so lucky Rebecca can't hear you!
PAUL: Hey, this is different.
ELLE: Oh, is it? I know you'd give up your work for her.
PAUL: Yes - but she wouldn't ask and that's what's different.
Elle leaves.
DONNA: Elle's so decisive. It's how I was today at work, I said: "Get Kate" and they did.
Paul gives Donna Elle's bag - he'll get her another when she sees sense.
Charlie's
Elle has a go at Paul, as he walks in - she's been offered a weeks work experience is New York. Elle knows Paul is in on it, and for once she wants to stand on her own two feet, independent of him. Elle says she's staying with Lucas, and walks off. Paul tells Lucas that he'd better hope that she never regrets staying.
Number 22
Donna gives Kate the CD of music that she'll be catwalking/dancing to later. Donna says she'll be over as son as she's ready so that they can go to the run-through. Donna tells Kate that she'll be great.
In walks Elle, ranting to Lucas about he dad. Lucas pulls out some New York food - she should try it. Lucas thinks she should go for a week - just to make sure. Elle thinks it's pointless, but she'll go to see what it's like.
Number 26
Lyn is sitting on the sofa, rocking slightly and clutching her shopping as Steph walks in. Lyn tells Steph she was going to cook tonight, but Steph says she's busy.
STEPH: I'm going to the gym. I need to punch something.
Lyn apologises, and she's just glad it's not going to print and that Paul gave her no choice.
STEPH: No! No, there is always a choice. Susan and Libby are like family to us.
LYN: I know.
STEPH: I just don't understand you! I think you should move out.
Steph walks out with her gym bag, leaving Lyn looking shocked.
Charlie's
Susan's having a coffee whilst reading the paper. Lyn approaches, and Paul watches on from another table.
LYN: I know you don't want to see me now, but I've got no-one else to turn to.
Susan hardly looks at Lyn (again!)
LYN: Steph's asked me to move out.
SUSAN: Well, she's being loyal to Libby.
LYN: I know, I...I was wondering if...if you would have a word to her for me. [Susan looks shocked] Please Susan, I've got no-one else to turn to. I'd do anything...Look, I promise I will never write that stupid bloomin' column again. [Getting teary] Susan, I need your friendship. It's one of the most important things in the world to me.
Susan pauses for a second and looks at Lyn.
SUSAN: Well, I might think about forgiving the old Lyn. The nice one, the kind one. I miss her.
LYN: [crying] I know, me too.
Susan looks a bit teary, and after a pause she offers her a hug. They hug - hooray! Paul watches on.
PAUL: Urgh, I just don't understand women.
Number 26
Susan has come to see Steph. Steph apologises for Lyn's behaviour - she had no idea what she was upto. Susan didn't either, but is wondering if she should be given another chance.
SUSAN: You're not really going to kick her out, are you?
STEPH: I don't know. I just don't even want to look at her right now.
Steph says she doesn't really care - what had have happened if the article had been printed?! Susan knows it's bad, but Lyn's still her mum, and she really did do everything she could to stop it - even breaking into Paul's office. Steph thinks it's just been one thing after another since she's been back.
SUSAN: Well, you'll never be bored.
STEPH: Oh no, please, give me bored.
Steph wonders why she does it - when she always plays second best to Paul. Her and Susan agree that Paul and Lyn are only happy when they're plotting against one another!
SUSAN: Perfect couple! Errr...no, I didn't say that!
Susan tells Steph it's up to her - do what she thinks is right.
Backstage at the Fashion Show
Donna shows Kate where all her clothes are - and thinks she'll look amazing. And she gets to dress her!
KATE: I can dress myself.
Donna explains that the pace means that there won't be time - she has to do five changes! Donna pulls out some shoes, which Kate does not approve of. They're high, and they're really small! Saffron comes over and says she wants to see some energy.
KATE: I'll do my best.
SAFFRON: You will not 'do your best'. Donna said you were sensational and that's what I'm paying for - sensational!
Later...
Kate twizzles her way off the catwalk, and Donna helps her hobble to a chair. Saffron comes over and congratulates Donna - it's the ideas that count!
DONNA: Sorry about her, don't worry.
KATE: No, I'm not, it's my feet, they're bleeding.
DONNA: In the shoes?!
KATE: [sarcastically] Yeah, don't worry about me - I'm fine!
DONNA: Yeah, but eh shoe's aren't going to be, and I'm gonna get killed! [Cue a look from Kate] But your feet, your poor feet, are they OK?
Kate is afraid she'll miss the showcase now and Donna thanks her for being an ace friend - infact she's going to carry her everywhere until the showcase! She asks if Kate is OK and Kate tries to stand but can't. Donna goes to call a cab.
Later...
Donna is looking out of the window and Saffron asks her what she's doing. Donna says she's waiting for a cab, and Saffron says she never arrives to an after party in a cab - they have limo's.
Lindsay tells Donna if she doesn't go she can kiss her career goodbye, as Saffron will take it as a personal insult. Donna isn't sure what to do and eventually decides to give Kate the money for the cab and goes to the party. Kate doesn't look amused!
