Number 22
Paul is hunting for his address book - he needs to find a best man. But Elle's not interested; she's upset about what she overheard Lucas saying. She doesn't tell her father what happened, but he offers to listen if she needs him.
Harold's Store
Lucas is putting up an advert for a free tune-up with every service at Carpenter's Mechanics. Karl sees the note and wants to put his car in for the service - especially if there's a free check up going! Lucas asks Karl if he's seen Elle, but he hasn't.
Lucas leaves, and Elle comes out of the kitchen, to see the Ramsay kids. She asks them if they'd like to go roller-blading...
Outside Grease Monkeys
...where she promptly falls over onto the kerb, blades on, and rather undignified. Kate asks Elle if she's okay, whilst Harry admits he's never seen that before - a cartwheel over traffic, the somersault into the street sign...!
Elle offers them a milkshake instead.
Harold's Store
The kids thank Elle for a lovely day, and Sophie wants to go again tomorrow, but Elle thinks she'd rather do something else next time.
Behind them, Paul and Rebecca are at a table, Bec worried that the wedding is going to be a disaster.
PAUL: Well, that'll make a change.
BEC: That's not helping, is it Paul.
PAUL: No.
BEC: Why don't we just elope?!
PAUL: You wanted this to be a fresh start.
Rebecca admits she does, so she decides to make some decisions and stick to them.
Elle watches them, entertained.
Number 22
Elle is tipping ice into a tea-towel, telling her father that he hates harpists - why did he agree to have them at the wedding?
PAUL: I do, but it was one of the things that she suggested that I haven't, you know, done before.
He also still hasn't found a best man, and can't use Declan because he's giving Rebecca away.
ELLE: Well who did you use last time? Or the time before that? Or that?
PAUL: Yeah, thanks, Elle. Great.
ELLE: No wonder Rebecca's suggestions are all a bit familiar. I guess when you get married thirty seven times you're gonna struggle to find something new to do.
PAUL: Oh ha ha ha, very funny.
ELLE: I think you're going to have to give her the harpist.
Elle puts the ice pack on her side, and Paul can't believe she wanted to try roller blading. He thinks it's to do with last night, and Lucas criticising her. Elle persists - she just wants to try new things in her life.
Elle thinks that Paul should be honest with Rebecca, tell her why he doesn't want to do her suggestions. But on the other hand, she's worse at this stuff than her father is, so he probably shouldn't be talking to her.
Charlie's
Rebecca asks Elle if Paul is getting cold feet over the wedding, but Elle assures her that her dad is just embarrassed about being seen as soppy.
REBECCA: Oh! I don't think he's in any danger of THAT happening!!
Rebecca muses that she wishes men would just tell women what they're thinking, but Elle thinks that's not such a great idea.
Toadie and Callum come in with Rocky, asking for a 6 pack of beer. Callum says Toadie's worried that the guide dog supervisor is going to fail Rocky, but Toad insists that's not the case - there's nothing they can't handle. Rocky pees on the floor.
Number 30
Cal is begging Toadie for chocolate for lunch - it's healthy, he says, because it's fruit and nut. Um...
Toadie concedes: Callum can have one piece, but mustn't tell anyone.
In the meantime, there's a knock at the door and it's Sonya from the guide dog puppy training unit. Toad clearly wasn't expecting a woman, and is taken aback. Sonya sees Cal eating chocolate and reminds him that it's toxic to dogs. Toadie calls Rocky over, but the dog moves not an inch.
TOADIE: Rocky! Rocky!
Lassiter's Park
Out in the park by the lake, Toadie and Callum are showing Sonya what they have trained Rocky to do. Cal and Sonya watch as Toadie awkwardly doesn't really know what to do. Rocky manages to walk to heel, and Toadie rewards him with a big cuddle - before letting go of the leash. Ignoring the dog, he talks non-stop at Sonya, suggesting she might want to give him some private lessons on how to train Rocky.
SONYA: Jarrod? Where's your dog?
Toadie legs it over the hill and far away.
Charlie's
Back at the bar, Lucas comes in, and wants to talk to Elle. He tells her that he's getting help, getting his act together. But Elle's not interested, and puts him down for attending Gamblers Anonymous. She strops out.
Cut to moments later where Lucas is at a table, stirring a latte. He hears in his mind the Gamblers Anonymous talk on gambling. Across the bar, he sees some guys playing pool for money, and finds the strength to walk out.
Number 30
Sonya is giving her report on Rocky. He worked well on the leash, and responds well to Toadie's voice.
TOAD: (with fake voice) That's because I've got an actually low vocal tone that works well in court, too.
SONYA: Yyyyyyeah....
Sonya reports that he's a well socialised dog, but can't go begging other people for food, and he needs daily exercise and training. She also knows that his discipline routine is ad hoc, and agrees that private lessons together are very sensible. Callum nudges his dad - he's scored a date! Meanwhile, Rocky is eating pizza.
Sonya says she'll get something in the diary for lessons, and Toadie requests she fast track it.
TOADIE: Not that I don't have anything else on, cos I'm quite busy being a parent and a lawyer, and...
SONYA: Bye, Jarrod.
Sonya leaves, and Toadie is visibly disturbed to see Callum giving Rocky chocolate as a treat, using the exact same words on the dog that Toadie used on him earlier. Toadie realises that the discipline with both Rocky and Callum is going to have to change.
Charlie's
Paul is suggesting a wedding on a yacht - surely that beats a harpist?! Rebecca agrees, although she doesn't seem entirely sure. They hug, with Elle watching on. Rebecca has to go and tell people about the whole yacht thing, whilst Elle suggests to Paul that he just ask Rebecca what kind of a wedding she'd like.
Paul doesn't want to ask and seem like he doesn't already know! Declan had given him a list, but he washed it with his jeans.
ELLE: Why do people try to be something that they're not?
PAUL: Oh, er - roller blading.
ELLE: Be honest with her. That's the best wedding present you could give her.
Carpenter's Mechanics
Karl is dropping his car off to Lucas, and asks him how he's doing. Lucas says he's resisting temptation, and gets to work on Karl's car. Vanessa turns up - Bec told her he worked here. Vanessa accepts his apology for the other night, and wonders if he'd like to see her again, play a few games of pool...?
Charlie's
Lucas comes in, and tells Rebecca to stop his tab. To not serve him until it's paid off, and not serve him after that unless he's got cash. Rebecca seems surprised, but agrees. Lucas asks after Declan, and Rebecca replies that her son was thinking of coming to see him; Lucas would like that.
As Lucas leaves Rebecca mentions that Vanessa is looking for him. Lucas knows, he sent her away. She's nice, but she's not Elle.
Number 30
Toadie is trying to get Cal to do things by the book with Rocky, but Cal's more interested in teasing his dad about Sonya.
Karl comes round to see Dan, who isn't at home - he's concerned about Lucas. But Toadie needs to pick Karl's brain on discipline issues, with Callum. Toadie admits that Cal is learning his bad habits from him, and is passing them onto Rocky. Karl says he has to nip it in the bud sooner rather than later.
Number 26
Paul and Rebecca are snuggled on the sofa and they both admit that neither of them want to get married on a yacht! Bec also agrees she doesn't really want a harpist. Paul then confesses that the things she's been suggesting are things that he's done at previous weddings, and he was scared.
Rebecca tells her fiancé that she doesn't care how or where she marries him; she just wants to marry him. She wonders how he's going with the best man, so he reports back that it's in progress.
He wanders into the kitchen and scrolls through his mobile phone book. Declan? Karl? Lou? Tim Collins?!
Number 22
Back at the Robinson house, Elle is arranging to go out with Chantelle from work - whom she hates - and they're going to see a band. At midnight. Paul demands to know what's going on.
Elle says she's sick of being boring and someone who likes decorating. Lucas thinks she's boring. Paul gives his youngest daughter a hug, and says that she doesn't have to change for anyone - he loves her as she is. They decide to get some takeaway, and Paul pulls out some food fliers from a kitchen drawer. Looking through the leaflets, Elle sees the one that Lucas was putting up for a free tune up at Carpenter's Mechanics.
She has an idea, and takes a rain-check on the takeaway.
Carpenter's Mechanics
Lucas is settling down for the night - he's staying in the workshop at the moment. Elle pulls up the front cover to the garage and walks in with a bunch of flowers. She thought she'd spruce the place up - now she owns it and all.
She's just bought the workshop from Janae, and given all the liabilities the place has, she got it for a good price.
LUCAS: Please don't take this away from me. Elle...
ELLE: I'm not going to sack you. No, it'll be far more entertaining being your boss. And the first thing you'll do for me is remove that mattress.
LUCAS: I'm sleeping here.
ELLE: Not any more you're not.
