PirateNet/Hospital/Number 22/Number 28
Zeke is being Lost Boy and starts to talk about The Pursuit of Happiness and what his dad taught him. He talks about when his dad died he realised what it was like to be alone but he found a new family and as he says this, we see Donna sitting in number 22 listening in, pretty unhappy, and Declan in the hospital. Ringo and Bridget are visiting him as Zeke talks about how he trusts his family and how he can pick his family. Zeke announces he has a caller, which turns out to be Donna saying how not everybody has the choice to pick your family. Donna tells him about her Dad not really being her dad.
ZEKE: You know, that's biologically impossible.
DONNA: Well, the man I thought was my dad wasn't my father at all so excuse me if I don't laugh at your jokes.
ZEKE: Well, I know how you must feel.
DONNA: No you don't!
Sunny's listening to Donna's call on PirateNet in Number 28 as Karl comes in through the door with his suitcase. Yay! Dr K is back!!! Sunny and Karl introduce each other and he lets Sunny listen to Donna's call. Donna says she's angry and Elle listens as she walks in number 22.
DONNA: I'm not going to let her upset me.
ZEKE: Her? Who's her?
DONNA: My mother. She's this lying, manipulative, cat stealing...
Donna tells him about her brother and sister running away and that she's divorcing Cass. Zeke asks Donna if she thinks she's lying this time but Donna has a feeling it's the truth. Zeke want's to know if there's anybody she can ask for confirmation like a family member, but Donna gets too teary to talk and hangs up. Zeke offers his help to Donna if she needs to talk again and leads to another story after the next song about whether the school council is bullying their new principle.
Erinsborough High
Speak of the devil, Dan is listening to Zeke in the school classroom. Not one of them, in the classroom. Libby walks in asking something about the play and Dan tells her Zeke's doing a story on him and he can't get through to Zeke. Toadie and Steve are talking about the play, Toadie giving some ideas for the play and asking Steve's opinion.
STEVE: Are you talking from personal experience?
TOADIE: No. It's pure fiction.
Dan hushes them as Zeke talks about his story. Dan's worried the council are hearing about this but Libby says the council would never listen to PirateNet. Dan's phone rings and what a co-inky dink! It's the council and Dan reluctantly and worriedly answers.
Hospital
Elle is visiting Declan and meets Ringo and Bridget outside his room. Elle doesn't want to crowd him when Ringo suggest she see's him and Bridget apologizes for the way she acted the day before. She tried to call Donna but she couldn't get through and they acknowledge the fact that Donna's not been having the best of days either. Ringo asks about Donna divorcing her mum and Elle says she wants Cass out because while she's there, she's hurting Donna. She needs to go and the whole street have to help.
Number 28
Elle is discussing it with Karl, who thinks it's a bit drastic but as Ringo points out, Karl hasn't been around to see what a pain Cass is. Karl agrees and Elle hands him a pair of earplugs. Karl asks what else has been happening and says he heard about the accident. Weird how there's no reference to the return of Guy Sykes and his son being in danger. Again. Ringo tells him the accident was because of Sass.
RINGO: I don't know what's worse: dying or getting mouth to mouth by Paul Robinson.
Libby and Dan enter to welcome Karl home and Karl apologizes that he wasn't there when she lost the baby. Dan asks if Karl could get Zeke to call when he gets back. Libby asks how London was and apparently more peaceful than Ramsay Street. There's a surprise (!) Karl asks if they heard about Elle's plan and Ringo gives them earplugs.
Number 24
Rave music, most likely Zeke's pod cast, is playing on high volume from Declan's car right outside Cass' house. Cass shouts at them to turn it down and gives up shouting when no one replies. She's not happy!
Ramsay Street
Cass walks out in the early morning to go to work and the music is still playing, funky beats and extra loud! Cass looks through the car and sees the windows open but not enough for her to reach in and turn off the music. Ringo greets her and goes to turn off the music as she complains. Ringo explains that Declan wanted him to test his radio because he thinks its faulty. Cass shouts at him, saying he kept the entire street up all night with the music but he says simply that they had earphones, making out to be innocent. Cass figures out it was Elle's plan and bumps into Bridget who apologizes for calling in the middle of the night. She's up at all hours with indigestion. Cass says that because of those two, she didn't get to sleep until early morning and slept through her alarm. Donna steps out form number 22 and tells her to get to work. Cass tells her it'll take a hell of a lot more to get rid of her and she's onto Donna and everybody else. Bridget apologizes to Donna for the way she acted yesterday. Ringo asks if she's telling the truth about Matt and Donna thinks she is, but she'll call her Nan for confirmation. Ringo offers to talk whenever she needs to.
Erinsborough Hostpital
Cass runs in apologizing for being late and Jodie's isn't any easier with a busy ward. She tells Cass Peggy, most probably the boss, wants to see her and Cass asks why.
JODIE: I don't know. Maybe the fact you're either late for your shift or never show up at all.
CASS: Well, some of us have got lives to lead, you know.
Donna walks in and asks about her real father. Cass tells her his name's Nick and he said he loved Cass until she got pregnant and he was gone. Then Matt turned up and told her he'd stay with her. He lasted longer than Nick but went in the end as well. Donna asks where her real father is but Cass has no idea. She only ever see's Nick when she looks in Donna's eyes. Donna gives Cass papers on the intervention order and unless she goes first, they'll see each other in court.
Later, Declan and Toadie are discussing something secret and Toadie asks when he's going to tell Steve and Miranda, noting that Declan is reading through a law file. Steve and Miranda turn up and are delighted to see Declan out of bed on doctors orders to walk around as much as possible. Steve comments on Toadie being there early and Toadie says he's in for work rapidly taking the file from Declan. Miranda asks what it is but its 'nothing'. Declan sees a way out of getting caught and pretends to have a dizzy spell. Steve helps him up and leads him to his hospital bed giving a good chance for Toadie to vamoose!
Cass is in a state as she rushes to the desk where Elle is donating money. Cass accuses Elle of getting her fired but Jodie points out that if she turned up when she had her shift and on time, she may still have her job. Elle also tells Cass she's barred from Charlies and Harold's Store. Cass' phone rings and Elle says it's probably the Salvation Army. Elle tells her she sent a report on how Cass has been disturbing the local residents and wishes her happy house-hunting. Cass is distraught.
Ramsay St
Cass is shoving her bags into her car as Donna and Elle watch. Donna adjusts to the fact she's actually leaving. Cass shouts across the street that it doesn't have to end like that but Donna glares at her and walks off. She stops in the driveway to watch her mother leave from there. Rebecca and Steph walk up to Elle, asking what's going on.
ELLE: Christmas just came early.
Cass is driving so harshly, her tyres screech on the road! She goes around the street, knocking everybody's bins over causing a mess to each house. The three girls are laughing their heads off.
STEPH: Now that's what I call an exit!
Rebecca notices Donna walking in sadly and asks Elle if she's ok. Elle says she will be in time.
Zeke walks out of the front door, noticing the bin outside his house has exploded his garden with garbage. Dan calls Zeke, even though we don't see him, and Zeke runs back inside. He's keeping an eye on the door and looking for Dan outside the window and Dan has managed to get in the back way, scaring Zeke. Dan knows Zeke's been avoiding him and confronts him about what he said about the school council last night. Zeke says he was just trying to get them to back off. Dan says the council thought he put Zeke up to this and had a hell of a time convincing them he didn't and now it's obvious he's a student and Dan has to track down Lost Boy. Zeke says Dan can't force him to give this up but Dan says he doesn't have to but he should take responsibility for his actions.
Erinsborough Hospital
Declan asks for a toasted sandwich in his hospital room, where Bridget, Miranda and Steve are. Steve offers to go and get it but Declan is insisting Bridget go to get it simply because she knows what he likes. Bridget suspiciously agrees and Declan suggest Miranda go with her. Didge wants to know what's going on and Declan says its nothing and just wants a sandwich. Bridget and Miranda leave giving Declan a chance to talk to Steve, who is wondering what that was all about.
DECLAN: I need to ask you something. It's actually more of a legal requirement since Bridget's under eighteen but I'm asking for your permission to marry Bridget.
Later on and Steve is looking out of the window, his back turned to Declan. Obviously nothing has been said as Declan asks him to say something. Steve starts talking about Bridget having nightmares when she was young. He would hold her in his arms, tell her he would protect her and she'd fall fast asleep again and she felt safe. Steve says as parents you always feel you need to protect your kid and keep them safe. Steve finds it hard to accept he's not the most important man in her life anymore. Steve gives Declan his permission and blessing. Miranda and Bridget turn up with a sandwich and Rebecca! Steve says they should leave Bridget and Declan to it and she throws him his sandwich and tells him to start talking.
Harold's Store/PirateNet/Number 22
Steph and Libby are talking about Cass leaving as Toadie is sat with his earplugs and looking gormless and amazed at how great they are and how he slept to easily. Steph says it's a turn off for the ladies but Toadie didn't hear a word and gives her a puzzled look. Dan walks in and Libby asks about how the thing with school went. Dan starts explaining but Sunny and Ringo's laptop is too loud with PirateNet. They explain that they emailed their whole fan base because Lost Boy is doing a special broadcast.
Zeke come on air and say this is his final ever broadcasting and says a fond farewell.
ZEKE: But, as Kenny says, 'you gotta know when to fold them and know when to walk away'. That's Kenny Rogers, not Kenny the toilet guys with the lisp. Anyway, I'm going to leave you as you found me: a man of mystery even though some of you guys have tried to unmask me and been unsuccessful in every case.
Back in Harold's Store and Sunny says to Ringo that it's Kyle from school. Wrong!
Donna calls back in to Zeke and she's sitting alone in number 22 in the same place as before.
DONNA: You said you were ready to listen.
ZEKE: Donna!
DONNA: How do you know my name?
Zeke simply stutters and asks if she's ok. Donna says he might make himself seem good on the radio but he's just like the rest of them. Cut and run. Zeke denies this and says the fact that it's his last show has nothing to do with him. Donna asks about all of those people out there who need to talk like her last night and there are people who need him. Zeke says he made some mistakes.
ZEKE: I nearly cost Fitzy his job. I've upset you and Ringo and Ringo is a mate just like you and Fitzy.
RINGO: What? He knows us?
ZEKE: OK, Donna, there are a lot of people out there who care about you.
DONNA: Name one.
ZEKE: There's Elle. There's Didge. There's Ringo.
Zeke turns of the voice changer thingy.
ZEKE: And there's me. All of us
DONNA: Zeke?
Everyone is shocked, basically. Well, apart from Libby and Dan.
Erinsborough Hospital
Bridget says no to something and says she's not buying it. Declan says it's the truth.
BRIDGET: You wanted advice on buying a puppy for Toadie?
Declan gives in and asks her to sit with him. Bridget's scared there's something wrong with him and thinks he's dying. He giggles that she would be that drastic. Bridget asks what was going on. Declan says he didn't want to propose in hospital and he didn't even get a proper ring. He pulls out a key ring and puts it on Bridget's ring finger. He asks her to marry him. Bridget's literally speechless and she hugs him instead of saying yes. She nods to say she'll marry him. Aw!
