Number 26
And we begin this weeks episode with some bad news - the phantom lawnmower is back again and even louder than before as Declan sits looking at the money he found. Didge startles him and says they should hand it into the police despite Declan wanting them to use the money to buy baby things. She then ticks him off for obsessing about the money but their chat is curtailed when Mickey appears out of his room (Declan quickly hides the money under the nearby table) wondering if he's moved back in since he stayed last night. Dec explains that they had grown up secret things to talk about and when Mickey tries to dig further Declan says that he's too young to know this secret. Mickey gets his own back by refusing to walk Jake when Didge tries to get rid of him replying that if he's not old enough to know the secret then he's too young to walk the dog alone.
While Mickey plays on his Wii, Didge quietly hides the money in the drawer behind the sofa from where Declan had initially hidden it.
Number 28
Susan enters Zeke and Ringo's bedroom but the boys are dead to the world... however not for long as she uses a whistle to wake them and orders them to be in the livingroom in 5 minutes and refusing is not an option!
All the kids are dressed and sitting at the table ready for Susan to address them!
SUSAN: Thank you for joining me.
SUNNY: Is this how you do things in Australia?
She is highly miffed at the kids not pulling their weight around the house and the lack of conversation between them.
SUSAN: We're not a bunch of strangers sharing a roof, we're a family.
Ringo walks out to go get himself a job (Susan wanted him to do catch up study so he can re-join school) and she retires to her room after ordering Zeke and Sunny to do the dishes.
Charlie's
Ringo is after a job and first on the list is Rebecca but she isn't hiring as money is tight at the bar. He offers to work for free (to gain experience and a reference from her) to help get a real job which she agrees to but because he hasn't go this RSA (a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate) so he can only do food and coffee's.
Number 26
Zeke is miffed at Sunny not helping out with the dishes but she is peeved off at being sacked from her volunteer job at Pirate Net before she actually started working there and is putting the blame squarely on Lost Boy. "You can't blame him for everything," Zeke tells her but she isn't listening and storms off to go talk to them followed 2 seconds later by Zeke.
Charlie's
Ringo appears ready to start his first shift and in chatting to Rebecca, Didge and Declan, let's slip that he doesn't plan on returning to school. He confirms that Susan knows this which surprises Rebecca as she wonders why Susan didn't follow him.
DIDGE: Probably because when he told her her head exploded.
RINGO: I'm 18, it's my call.
It then comes out that Ringo isn't being paid and Rebecca drags her son off to help get milk from the store (after reminding him he can't serve alcohol) so he can't slag Ringo off any more than he was doing.
Ringo goes over to a table to take their order but the punters have recognised him as being a footy star and when he goes to get their beer order placed one of them mutters "hero" and they start smirking as he departs.
Harold's Store
Rebecca explains why she took Ringo on to Declan as they enter the store. She also says that the bar isn't doing too great but refuses his offer of help to make sure he does well at school so he can attend Agriculture College.
DECLAN: (puzzled) Agriculture College?
REBECCA: Yes, learn how to grow a money tree.
Number 26
With the house clear of Mickey, Declan has decided what they can use the $20k for - to help Rebecca over her financial troubles at the bar. Didge isn't happy at them giving dodgy money to Rebecca but they've got more things to worry about because when Declan goes to get the money it isn't in the drawer where she put it.
Commercial break over Declan is trying to get Mickey to tell him where the money is but he isn't budging until they explain where the money came from in the first place. Didge tries the sweetness and like approach and he concedes a little - he'll give them clues on where to find it. The sweetness and like Didge is annoyed and blackmails Mickey (by threatening to put his Wii controls into a basin of water) until he tells them. "You'll need a shovel" he says before all 3 of them leave the house.
Skate Park
Zeke is trying to put Sunny off of going into Pirate Net HQ to look for info on Lost Boy. She isn't giving up so he takes her mobile phone from her, forcing her to go with Plan B - sitting and waiting on one of the ramps for Lost Boy to appear.
Charlie's
Ringo pockets his first tips and Rebecca gives him praise on how well he is going. He's still after a full-time job but she will only give him one once he finishes Year 12. The footy fans shout for another round of drinks and while Rebecca pours the beers, he heads over to collect the empties and they ask for his autograph. Ringo politely replies that he isn't playing anymore and they have a dig at him.
MR OBNOXIOUS FOOTY FAN: You made one hell of a contribution to every other club in the competition.
RINGO: (keeping his cool) Just leave it okay.
MR OBNOXIOUS FOOTY FAN: We just want to get 3 beers. And get a shandy for yourself while you're at it you girl.
Naturally Ringo doesn't like that comment and Rebecca is quickly on the scene too as Ringo squares up to the guy.
MR OBNOXIOUS FOOTY FAN: We just want to get the autograph of the guy that stitched up Adam Clarke that's all.
Rebecca tells them to leave it and that is enough but Ringo walks out and the obnoxious footy fan calls out to him that he has no guts or heart. "Just put a sock in it" Rebecca tells Mr Obnoxious as she heads after Ringo.
Lassiters Complex
Rebecca follows Ringo through the complex trying to get him to explain why he walked out. Once he stops, he explains that had he stayed he would have decked Mr Obnoxious. She explains that working in the hospitality industry you come across lots of idiots, you just need to learn how to keep cool. Ringo reminds her about chucking Lucas out for what he said about Elle. "Yes but I didn't want to hit him" she replies before telling him when he refuses to come back that he won't get far in life if he is going to walk out all the time when things get tough.
RINGO: I am not running away. If I flatten every idiot who crosses me I'm not much use to you am I?
Number 28
Susan wants to chat with Ringo when he comes home (Rebecca called to tell her) but he isn't in the mood to talk and goes to get his gym gear instead. She gets him to talk though when she "blackmails" him into talking to her instead of his mum.
SUSAN: Because like it or not you are part of this family, otherwise I wouldn't be this worried.
Ringo apologises and says that he doesn't know what he is doing. Susan has the solution to that one - talking and going back to school and she offers to tutor him to help catch up. "At the end of the year all the kids are going to get their VCE results and so are you" she tells him.
RINGO: You'll help me?
SUSAN: Of course I'll help you.
RINGO: I'm pretty far behind.
SUSAN: Well if you're willing to invest the time so am I.
The two of them agree on a deal but instead of Ringo celebrating at the gym, Susan tells him that he's got his chores to do first.
Skate Park
Sunny is still waiting accompanied by Zeke despite him trying to get her to give up. They start chatting to pass the time and she asks how many times Karl and Susan have been married.
ZEKE: (having to think about it) Eh I think it's about 3 now...I don't know, it's confusing.
SUNNY: (confused) So she was with your dad who died?
He confirms this and she explains that there is a lot to understand getting to know everyone. Zeke then tells her that his dad died after they were married (she gives him sympathy) and explains the rest of his family - Rachel and Katya who is a nurse in Adelaide.
She explains her background - mum, dad and sister and when they lived in Seoul there were lots of other relatives around but it was just the 4 of them when they started moving around because of her dad's work.
Zeke then decides he's had enough and leaves to allow her to continue her wait for Lost Boy after returning her mobile phone.
Number 26 backyard
Mickey can't remember where he buried the money but like all good pirates he made map with instructions on how to find it and X marks the spot five steps straight ahead, one to the left followed by 5 more straight ahead. Declan states the obvious - there is no signs of anything haven been dug. Didge has found where the earth has been moved and calls Declan over to dig it up and if looks could kill - Mickey would be replacing the money where it is buried!
Final break over, Declan has safely dug up the money and Mickey swears he didn't touch any of the money and asks if he can accompany them to the police station. Declan tells him no so he departs to go and play sadly not with the traffic but with Callum and casually agrees to promise not to blab about the money before leaving.
Declan still wants them to use the money (for his mum and tadpole) but finally agrees with Didge that they've got to hand it in when Zeke comes by to drop off some wrongly delivered mail. He immediately spots the bag containing the money and asks where they got it from. They want to know why he wants to know but Zeke has recognised the distinctive dragon on the front of it and tells them that it belongs to his sister, that is why.
