Harold's Store
Steve is on the phone leaving a message for Toadie, asking him for help with Miranda. He walks over to Bridget and decides he'll go and get Toadie himself. Bridget can't believe that Steve would actually think Miranda would've stolen the child, however Steve is concerned about the state she's been in lately.
Charlie's
Steph and Toadie decide to cut the wedding cake, seeing as they've already done the waltz. They get onto the topic of their wedding and their cake, which was given to the Salvos.
Cut to Lucas staring at Elle, who is talking with two guys in the corner. She notices and glares at Lucas, who turns away and bumps into Rebecca. It seems Rebecca wasn't looking where she was going either and Lucas guesses she was looking at Paul and Cass. Rebecca denies it, before noticing where Lucas' attention was - on Elle.
LUCAS: Let's never talk about this again.
Back to Steph and Toadie who announce their decision to cut the cake. However they are interrupted by Steve, who comes in looking for Toadie.
Police Station
Toadie and Steve walk in, Toadie asking Steve to tell him what happened. The Constable enters and Steve demands to see Miranda. However she needs to be assessed by a doctor and Toadie tells Steve he can do nothing about it. He advises Steve to keep his mouth shut if they ask anything else, who leaves with the Constable.
Cut to Miranda, sitting alone in a small room, when Steve walks in. He assures her that everything will be okay, however he is getting the silent treatment from Miranda. He knows he should have kept his mouth shut, but it was just a misunderstanding. He apologises again - what else can he say?
Charlie's
Steph is on the phone with Toadie, who can't make it back to the reception. Steph is now looking for volunteers to cut the cake and make a toast. After a sarcastic comment from Lucas, Steph calls on him and he comes forward with 'game show like' applause. Steph then asks Elle, but she is reluctant until Rebecca starts a chant. Lucas makes his speech.
LUCAS: Well a couple of months ago, Dan and I were behaving like school kids. But now, well he's my big brother and I couldn't be happier for him. And Libby. So here's to Mr and Mrs Kennedy-Fitzgerald. To Libby and Dan!
He hands the knife to Elle, but she declines. Steph reminds them that they're supposed to cut the cake together and they do so, somewhat awkwardly. Lucas looks at Elle.
Cut to a dream sequence, of Elle standing in a wedding dress and random bubbles everywhere. There's a shot of a wedding cake with 'Elle and Lucas' written on it, before another shot of Lucas and Elle (in wedding attire) holding hands. The Elle bride asks Lucas what the hell he's staring at and the dream vanishes.
Lucas is looking very awkward, so Elle cuts the cake herself and leaves.
Number 26
Mickey is sitting on the couch, asking about Miranda. Bridget explains that she was moved to the hospital, but Mickey makes the connection with what happened to Nicola. However Bridget doesn't want to talk about it anymore and promises that it won't be the same.
They are interrupted by Declan, who is asking about Miranda. He wonders if Bridget's okay and tries to hug her, but Bridget pushes him away. Declan then offers them a lift to drop Mickey off, and Bridget reluctantly agrees.
Hospital
Steve is complaining to Toadie about how long the assessment is taking, when Bridget walks in with Declan. The doctor comes out and begins talking about how unhappy and guilty Miranda is feeling. He doesn't believe she had any intention of taking the child and he'll recommend it to the police. However Toadie reveals that they could still charge her and he leaves to talk to the Constable. Bridget enquires further about Miranda - she's tired but wants to see Bridget, not Steve.
Bridget walks into the room where Miranda is sitting. She apologieses and they hug, Steve watching through the door. Miranda knows she's made it hard for Bridget and the difficult decisions she has to make, but Bridget forgives her. Miranda tells Bridget she loves her and they hug again, both crying.
Charlie's
The reception is still going and Lucas is dancing wildly with Rebecca. Paul is watching them but is then pulled up by Cass, who is eager to see his moves. Rebecca walks off the floor, not wanting to dance with Paul there. Lucas notices two girls smiling at him from across the room and starts walking towards them, before making a quick turn and heading for Toadie at the bar.
TOADIE: So I heard you and Elle cut the cake.
LUCAS: So? It doesn't mean anything just because we cut the...aaah, shut up Lucas.
Lucas then starts asking about Steph and Toadie. He wants to know how close they got to getting married - pretty close, replies Toadie - and Lucas thinks it's a lucky escape. He's not the marrying type. His constant questions lead to Toadie to get suspicious and he asks Lucas what's going on. Lucas explains his vision and asks Toadie what it means. Lucas thinks it could be a sort of aversion therapy. Toadie, on the other hand, is having a hard time taking it seriously and walks away laughing.
Hospital
The doctor is finishing the paperwork for Miranda when Steve enters. Bridget leaves to pick up Mickey and the doctor goes to get the nurses to sign the discharge papers. Steve is relieved that it's all good news but Miranda rounds on him, asking him how he could think she'd do anything like that. Steve continues to deny it, but thought she might have just been a bit confused. Miranda is hurt that he doesn't trust her and Steve puts that down to the Joanna thing. Steve thinks they can still get through it, but Miranda is adament - she wants a divorce.
Hospital
Miranda collects her possessions and starts to leave the hospital. Steve is still arguing her rushed decision.
STEVE: Miranda, seperating is not going to solve anything.
MIRANDA: For you, maybe.
STEVE: So it's all about you, is it? It's a good thing I haven't stopped caring about everyone else, isn't it.
MIRANDA: I have spent a lifetime looking after other people.
STEVE: Yeah, whether they wanted it or not.
MIRANDA: I have put myself for far too long, Steve. Well not anymore!
Miranda storms out, leaving Steve shaking his head.
Number 26
Declan and Bridget walk through the front door with Mickey. Bridget sends Mickey to bed, allowing Jake to sleep on his bed because she's too tired to argue. Bridget thanks Declan for the lift and starts to clean, however Declan urges her to sit down for a bit. Declan begins to clean and Bridget talks about her parents. Declan tries to talk about their relationship and when Bridget doesn't want to, he leaves.
Charlie's
Elle is introducing Rebecca to Max, the investment banker and one of the guys she's been talking to. Lucas stops watching her and turns to Steph and Toadie.
LUCAS: What?
STEPH: Um, nothing. I'm just wondering if maybe we should finish this reception ...or turn it into yours and Elle's instead!
LUCAS: Hey! That stuff was in the vault, mate!
TOADIE: Mate, I was just checking if anyone else saw her in a wedding dress.
STEPH: Oh, you're so tragic Lucas.
Lucas thinks maybe it was the lights playing tricks on his eyes, but when he sees another vision of Elle the bride, he freaks and leaves to ask his admirers for the next dance. Steph and Toadie look concerned.
Paul is sitting at the bar and wonders if Rebecca is going to throw him out. They get into a conversation about her catching the bouquet, making Cass jealous, so she comes over to show Paul her photos. One of them is of Libby's collapse.
REBECCA: That's Libby.
CASS: Yup and I've come up with the best headline for you - Bride and Doom. What do you think?
Rebecca walks away and Paul tries to stop her, before complimenting Cass on her headline. He starts to look at her other pictures.
Number 26
Miranda arrives back home and hugs Bridget, while Steve looks on. Bridget then hugs Steve, before leaving to go to bed. Miranda also walks away and Steve is left alone in the room.
Charlie's
Rebecca is on the phone to Declan, talking to him about Bridget. They'll talk about it when she gets home and hangs up. Paul brings her a coffee, because she looks like she needs it. He offers his help if she needs anything and Rebecca appreciates it. Paul walks away, but is replaced by Cass. She's been watching them all night, which Rebecca finds a bit creepy as she's hardly spoken to him. Cass lets Rebecca know that she won't let her get a second chance with Paul, before leaving Rebecca to her coffee.
Charlie's
Lucas is sitting alone at a table, when he is joined by a stray hand reaching for the bowl of chocolates. It's Callum, who has escaped the babysitter and is there to check out the party. Lucas threatens to tell Toadie, but Callum bargains with him - he just wants to stay half an hour.
Cass and Paul are dancing again, watched by Elle and Rebecca at the bar. Rebecca thinks it's absurd that Cass thinks of her as competition. Elle agrees, but wonders why Rebecca is still talking about it then. Elle finally realises that Rebecca does still like Paul, who of course denies it.
