The Parkers
Nicola warns Steve that he has to tell the police and that Miranda and Bridget should know too. Steve asks that she keeps it to herself at the moment. Miranda arrives and starts to get suss, but Nicola covers for Steve by claiming she was just curious about what it was like in prison. Steve encourages Miranda to head back to bed; they've got some serious making up to do. He tells her to go on ahead, giving him the chance to thank Nicola for covering for him.
Number 24
Carmella is curious to know when Rebecca will be getting her results, but Rebecca is too pre-occupied trying to tidy-up. Carmella jokes that she could be the next Erin Brockovich, but Rebecca points out she was just a secretary, like herself, and not to expect big things. Marco heads off to bed; worried that his father might be overdoing things; he has to help him out the following day with the family business.
Declan arrives home and is immediately on the prowl. Rebecca wonders what he is looking for, while Carmella watches on bemused.
DECLAN: (to Carmella) Don't let that warm smile fool you, she is an evil, evil person. No offence mother.
REBECCA: (laughing) None taken, (turning evil) my little angel!
Carmella asks what is going on and Declan explains that Rebecca has bought tickets to his kissing booth. Rebecca just laughs.
CARMELLA: Ouch! How many?
DECLAN: All of them!
CARMELLA: Double ouch!
REBECCA: (still laughing) Now, would I do that!?
DECLAN: Yes! Yes, you would!
An embarrassed Declan continues to search through the cupboard, while Rebecca and Carmella fall about laughing. The ladies start wondering what kind of kisses Rebecca would be entitled to at the booth. Spotting his mum's handbag, Declan starts to go through it. Rebecca warns him not to, but he ignores his mum and soon spots an open letter from the university.
Rebecca asks her son to give the letter back, but realising they are her results he refuses and reads the letter. Admitting that she passed, Declan reads that his mum got high distinctions in all the exams. Carmella points out she should be out celebrating not hiding away, but Rebecca admits that they can no longer afford for her to go to university, so she won't be going.
The Parkers
Whilst cooking breakfast, Miranda asks her sister if she noticed anything with up with Steve the previous evening. Nicola claims she didn't and proposes that maybe he's just worried about the upcoming court case. Miranda isn't convinced and is sure something else is up.
Steve arrives with a crate of Lou's old junk: hub caps, beer mats with his face on, a wizard costume and a pair of used padded underpants! Mickey wonders if Steve got a tattoo in prison, but Steve informs the young lad that it was actually pretty boring, and that there wasn't much to do. The phone rings, and Nicola goes to answer it. It's Pete at the General Store (the guy who threatened Steve), but Nicola tells him to leave them alone; they don't need any more 'telemarketers'. Miranda is impressed, but Steve realises that Nicola is covering for him.
Car yard
Kirsten arrives to offer Ned a hand, however it is soon clear that she doesn't quite have the flair of an apprentice mechanic, as a stack of tyres go rolling across the forecourt. Oliver arrives to offer Kirsten a job back at Lassiter's, she agrees to meet him later on to discuss the matter. While Kirsten celebrates, Ned warns that it may be a bit too soon.
KIRSTEN: Ned, I need this job. Mickey needs me to have this job. End of story.
The General Store
Ned recons Kirsten could do a lot better than Lassiter's, but she points out that it's better than any other job she has had before. He reminds her that other hotels might want to hire her just as much, and they'd give her the respect she deserves as well.
Carmella warns Sienna not to work too hard, but Sienna is worried about getting the sack now that Marco has left, and asks Carmella to persuade him to come back. Speaking of Marco, he and his father arrive. Franco is persuading Marco to make a trip to Queensland to keep a supplier on side, but Marco isn't so keen on the idea. The heated argument leads to Franco's symptoms returning, so Marco agrees to make the journey.
No.22
As Paul attempts to solve a Rubik's cube, Declan arrives looking for Elle.
PAUL: Shouldn't you be at school?
DECLAN: Shouldn't you keep it in your pants?
Realising he's beaten, Paul enquires about his visit. Declan is looking for work at the General Store, but Paul isn't so sure, and reminds him he should be studying. Declan informs Paul that Rebecca aced all her exams, but now can't afford to go to uni. Paul points out that a part time job won't cover the costs of university, and advises Declan not to work. Realising he won't achieve anything, Declan leaves.
Charlie's Bar
Paul asks Elle if she will sign the forms for the trust funds to allow him access again. She refuses, but he explains it's not the company that he is after; he's trying to help Rebecca. Elle reminds her father that Rebecca won't accept it now they're not together, besides she proposed the same idea to Rebecca herself, and was turned down.
The Parkers
While Steve waits for Miranda to get ready, Nicola warns him to do something about the threats. Steve believes that he is just as bad as the thugs in prison, but Nicola points out he was just a good guy in the wrong place. Miranda appears, so Steve asks Nicola if she wants to join them. Nicola, however, is in another world, and thinks Steve is confessing his love for her. Snapping out of it, she agrees to come for the meal.
Lassiter's Complex
Heading to Charlie's, Miranda, Steve and Nicola are approached by Pete. Pete starts flirting with Nicola but Steve grabs his shirt and warns him to stay away from him and his family. Pete heads off, after an evil glare or two, leaving Miranda very confused. Paul comes past and offers to provide a witness report for Steve, but Steve declines. Steve explains to Miranda about his bust up in prison, and tries to tell her not to worry. They decide to head back home.
Charlie's Bar
Rebecca ends up running into Paul at the bar, who congratulates her on her result. He reminds her that it was her dream to go to uni and she can't just drop it because of a financial hitch. He tells her about the trust money that he has tied up and although she refuses to accept it, he leaves her to think about it for a while.
Over at a table, Oliver runs the up-coming meeting with Kirsten past Elle. Elle agrees that they can give her a job, but she is determined to make Kirsten's life hell, and thus forcing her to quit. Rebecca wonders what they are up to, so Elle explains that they have to rehire Kirsten. Rebecca asks that they don't treat her badly on account of what happened, though Elle isn't convinced.
The General Store
Carmella leaves Chloe with Franco whilst she persuades Marco to finish work for the day. He explains he's had a long day as his father made a mess of the orders, which means he'll have to take on more responsibility, and thus the regular trips up to Queensland. Franco takes a call from the supplier and gets up to tell Marco, accidentally knocking his pills into Chloe's pram.
Sienna goes to clear the table and spots the pills in the pram. Marco is angry that his father was so careless, but Franco snaps back at him. Picking up the pills, Sienna realises they are not pills for his heart after all, but just a pack of mints in a prescription bottle. Franco admits that he is not taking meds, and that Chloe will be fine. Marco doesn't look impressed.
Charlie's Bar
Elle and Oliver wait for Kirsten to arrive, but it seems she is taking her time. Over at the bar, Paul introduces himself to Nicola and enquires as to whether she is okay after the earlier incident with Pete. Elle watches her father with suspicion.
Kirsten arrives to talk to Elle and Oliver while Ned watches on for moral support. They show her the contract, but she soon realises that it's only for the position of kitchen hand, and not her old job as she had assumed. They warn her that it's that or nothing, but soon change their minds as she threatens to phone Tim Collins. She asks for her old position back, with a double on her current salary. Elle can't believe what she is hearing, but Oliver agrees to it.
OLIVER: When can you start?
KIRSTEN: How about never!
She tells them to stuff the job and goes over to celebrate with Ned.
Number 24
Rebecca thanks Elle for coming over. Declan arrives back too, so she asks them both to listen to her plans. She explains how Paul has offered to help fund her university course, and asks whether they think she can trust him again.
ELLE: I wouldn't trust my father.
