Recap
Toadie explaining to Steph why Dia isn't being allowed to come to Australia.
Skinner trying to find out who killed Chris - Steve or Didge.
Didge asking Declan if she was wrong to let Steve take the blame.
Marco and Carmella having relationship difficulties.
Number 24
Carmella and Marco are having a blazing argument as some guy watches from outside but doesn't enter and scarpers when Declan and Rebecca appear with their belongings. Marco & Carmella put on the 'everything is happy and we're so happy to have you living with us' façade when they enter and Marco takes the opportunity to head to work.
Ramsay Street
Steph runs into Toadie and introduces him to Callum Jones (who is the grandson of someone who cleans occasionally for Steph at the bar) and asks if they can hang out together because Callum needs a male role in his life. Toadie isn't exactly jumping for joy but follows the kid into the house when Steph asks him to go inside and watch television.
Oh, a side note, when Steph was asking Toadie to befriend Callum, the lad threw something into the bushes and was reluctant to pick it up until Toadie threatened him with a tombstone (whatever that is) but the dreaded wrestling music started up. I think we should be worried, very worried!
Lassiter's Complex
The random guy who was peering through the door of #24 catches up with Carmella as she is trying to arrange an official photo of Chloe at some random stall erected for this scene. The guy shows her a pic of him and his son from when he was a young child but disappears before we find anything more about him.
Ramsay Street
Steph is trying to sweet-talk Toadie into hanging out with Callum but he is totally against it, thinking that he'll only give the lad bad habits when Callum appears dressed in Toadie's Lawman outfit and the wrestling music starts again. I knew it was time to get worried!
CALLUM: Hey, baby faced Jones has been given a whole lot of hot air and I tell you something, when I'm done with you, you're mama will be feeding you with spoons.
TOADIE: Oh you reckon?! I reckon you're the one who's going to be begging for mercy once you've met THE LAWMAN. (Doing the Lawman impression)
CALLUM: (unimpressed) You reckon?!
TOADIE: (trying to prove the point) I reckon!
CALLUM: (trying to taunt him) Tell you what I reckon. I reckon you are just all mouth (hand gestures).
TOADIE: (feeling insulted) Come down here and say that.
CALLUM: (taunting him more) Come up here and say that.
Toadie runs after him and Steph calls out that she'll leave the two of them to it.
The General Store
Carmella apologises for her behaviour last night and that they should communicate better. Marco agrees but it requires her to not be out gallivanting to do that.
The random guy shows up again and turns out he is Marco's dad Franco. He's found out why Marco is so stressed (running two businesses) and isn't impressed at him running TGS, wanting him to concentrate on the family business and Carmella is insulted when he calls her a distraction but Marco drags his dad away to talk before he can say anything more.
Number 26
Mickey stuns the adults by questioning the big breakfast they are having and if it is because of Steve's forthcoming trial. Ned as usual wants them to discuss it later but Steve is okay for Mickey to ask questions. First up is if this will be the last time he sees his uncle but Steve replies even if he does go to jail he can still visit him and reassures Mickey that arrangements are in place for the clinic, footy team and the house.
Didge again questions if they are doing the right thing and Steve tells Didge that she isn't being allowed to go to the court too in case there is a repeat of what happened the last time.
Garage (later on)
Steve arrives at the garage to start putting some of his affairs in order for when he is send down and Ned agrees to his requests beginning with getting some car repairs done (so that he and Miranda can teach Didge to drive) and to do anything around the house that needs doing.
The General Store
Marco is unimpressed at his dad droning on about how good the family business is (in preference to TGS) and the comments he is making about Carmella especially the fact she has a child to another man!
FRANCO: The family business was build for you to hand onto your children, your blood.
Number 30
With the wrestling music blaring away, Toadie & Callum seem to be re-enacting every move there is in the wrestling manual but thankfully it doesn't last too long that I need to go and find my wrestling dictionary again! Wrestling over and Toadie starts asking Callum questions about his background (his mum is a druggie and is in hospital, his grandfather is dead) before they thankfully bond over something I have more of a clue about - footy!
The General Store
Marco is trying to smooth things over with Carmella starting with him quitting working for his dad and wants to celebrate with the 3 of them having a family photograph - his family.
Charlie's
Steph is telling Libby all about Callum & Toadie when speak of the devil the two boys arrive and the lad is very taken by how good looking Libby is!
CALLUM: Check out the rack.
TOADIE: That's enough.
CALLUM: What? It's the same thing you said about the chick on the sports channel.
Steph slaps Toadie in the shoulder before asking for their order.
TOADIE: Two hamburgers with the lot, extra chips don't hold back on the cholesterol. (Winks at her as she leaves)
CALLUM: I could do with an ice cold tinnie.
TOADIE: Two cola's thanks.
CALLUM: Make mine a large.
Callum then turns to Libby and asks how it's going before blowing a kiss to her. Libby is too stunned to reply and Toadie just shrugs his shoulders.
Over at another table, Franco is still lecturing Marco about TGS and he still isn't happy at his father interfering but as the conversation progresses, Franco hints that there is something up.
The General Store
Didge bemoans to Declan that she wishes her life could go back to normal like it was before. Declan reassures her that it wasn't an accident but Didge tells him that whether Steve likes it or not she is going to court and is going to tell the truth.
Callum's house
Toadie escorts Callum home so his Gran can see who is hanging out with her grandson. Despite knocking a few times, nobody is answering the door so they go round the back to see if she is hanging out washing and spot that she is in fact lying on the grass out cold. Callum rushes to check his Gran and Toadie phones for an ambulance.
Charlie's
Turns out the mystery thing was that Franco had a heart attack but this is the first Marco has heard of it. Marco caves in and tells his dad that he'll run the business because Franco has to retire on doctors orders.
Hospital
Toadie explains to Callum that his Gran has had a turn and will need to be in hospital for a few days and upon hearing that there is nobody he can live with, tells the lad he's going home with him.
CALLUM: First off, we've got to get a few things straight.
TOADIE: Like what?
CALLUM: You're not the boss of me.
TOADIE: Right... anything else?
CALLUM: That pretty much covers it.
Toadie says they should say bye to his Gran but before they go, asks if she is going to die, so he reassures him that she isn't and Callum takes his hand as they go see his Gran.
Number 24
The photographer is getting all set up for the photo and Carmella asks Rebecca if Marco has called, he hasn't, but tells Rebecca she won't call him because he's had a tough day and will be home soon enough.
The General Store/Number 24
Marco locks up and looks fondly at a menu just as Carmella phones to see where he is (so much for what she said 2 seconds ago!) He tells her to get started without him as he still has a few things to do before leaving.
Number 24
Carmella comes off the phone and tells Rebecca that Marco has forgotten about the photos. She tells her to get some photos with Chloe done first, which she does, and Marco comes home to see the proofs from the photoshoot as he eats his supper. Marco apologises for missing it and Carmella forgives him wanting to know how his dad took the news. He stuns her by announcing that he is taking over the family business in preference to TGS which she is not at all happy about!
Number 26
Steve is completing his 'to do' list even though Miranda points out that he won't get it all done before the court case. He goes off to do some more and alone Miranda breaks down but Nicola hears her and consoles her sister giving her reassurance that Toadie is doing his damnedest to get the charge reduced to manslaughter.
MIRANDA: He'll still go to jail.
NICOLA: He's a family man and he's never done anything wrong.
MIRANDA: He pleaded guilty Nic and then there's that other conviction.
NICOLA: There's got to be something we can do. (Sees the look on Miranda's face) What?
MIRANDA: There's one person who could make a difference.
Number 30
Miranda is clutching at straws now and tries to get Toadie to not represent Steve so he doesn't end up in jail but he points out that will do him more damage and he could end up being charged with contempt of court.
TOADIE: I know how worried you must be.
MIRANDA: I'm not worried I'm terrified. If he goes to prison anything could happen to happen to him.
TOADIE: Don't you think I haven't tried to talk him out of it?
Miranda reminds Toadie that he knows that Steve didn't do it, he knows, and replies back that they are out of time.
TOADIE: Steve has made his choice.
MIRANDA: No, I refuse to accept that.
TOADIE: Then I'm sorry; I don't know what else to say to you. I've advised Steve, he's chosen to ignore it and at the end of the day he's the client and I take instructions from him.
Miranda then blackmails Toadie by threatening to go to the law institute and report him if he doesn't fix it.
TOADIE: Are you threatening me?
MIRANDA: Just do it!
