Recap
- Steve telling Ned and Janae that he has found premises at Lassiter's to open a vet clinic.
- Ringo telling his mum that he is in love with Carmella and she feels the same.
- Adam accepting Pepper's visa wedding proposal.
- Carmella humiliating Ringo by telling him in front of everyone that she lied - she has never loved him.
Lassiter's carpark
Ringo tries to tell Carmella that she can tell the truth but when she walks off, he reminds her of all the times/things they have done - the pool, the text messages etc. Carmy keeps quiet and Frazer pulls Ringo away so they can head back to the hospital.
As soon as they move away, with the RSR's still watching, Rachel lets rip at her for using Ringo and continues until Susan pulls her back and Rosie pulls her sister away.
Hospital
Ringo is helped back into bed and when Frazer sits beside him to talk; he turns his back on his brother. Frazer reassures him that he did nothing wrong but Ringo isn't in the mood to listen and asks his brother to get their mum.
No. 28
Rachel is trying to explain to Susan why she ranted at Carmy and wishes that he loved her like that before breaking down in tears.
Charlie's
Miranda brings over a coffee for Carmella and comments that she probably wishes it was something stronger but Carmella, who has obviously gone into SMC mode since she seems to have taken a vow of silence so far in the eppy, and so Rosie accepts the coffee on her behalf.
Steve comes in to ask how the farewell went and with a hushed voice, Miranda says it was a disaster and fills him in. Susan also arrives to put her mind at rest that it wasn't a disaster and Harold doesn't blame her for what happened but can't say personally because he is organising flights to meet Sky & Kerry in Port Douglas.
No. 30
Chris is already in 'mother of the bride' mode when she stops by to congratulate Pepper and Adam on hearing from Janae about their engagement. Pepper tries to break it gently to her that it isn't going to be a traditional wedding and Adam adds that it is likely to be a registry office do, which stops her in her tracks. She reminds Pepper that she always wanted a big wedding and so they are forced to tell Chris the real reason for getting married.
Vet surgery
Steve has obviously been to the same paint supplier as Harold as he begins painting the walls the same colour as TGS. Karl comes in with Audrey to tell Steve that she is no better and he remarks that there have been other animals who haven't responded to the treatment he prescribed either and wonders if the medication is suss. By co-incidence, it is Karl's employers who make the drugs and Steve wonders if there have been any other complaints and Karl says he will do some investigating.
No. 30
Chris again is reminding Pepper about her childhood wish to have a beautiful wedding, even reminding her of the scrapbook she made as a child. Neither side is willing to let it drop, but Pepper spells it out, that they either have the registry wedding or she moves to Italy.
Outside
Carmy asks Rosie if they can sit for a bit as they walk along and Rosie says that isn't a problem, they can go home whenever she is ready. Realisation dawns on her though that she isn't welcome anywhere atm but Rosie assures her that she will be there for her and stops her when she starts the dwell on what happened. Rest over, Rosie decides its time to go but when Carmy stands up, she feels faint, so Rosie tells her to take deep breaths.
CARMELLA: Rosie I feel weird.
Hospital
Its Prue's turn to have a go at Ringo for absconding from the hospital as the doc finishes checking him over and when she's done, he is declared fit enough to leave hospital as long as he gets bed rest and careful monitoring once a week. Prue asks if Ringo has to see her, he doesn't; because she thinks he will be better off at home...her home. Frazer isn't exactly happy (nor at being called George) but the doc is happy for him to go and Ringo decides he wants to go home with his mum.
Frazer turns round when he hears his wife's voice and her leading Carmella to the desk asking for help.
No. 28
Christian, head of compliance at Karl's work, is round to talk to Karl about the medication for Audrey (and the other animals) not appearing to work. Naturally he doesn't want to think that it is his firm where the problem lies especially as he has all the QA paperwork to back it up and thinks it is Steve who is pulling a fast one since he is new in town but he departs promising to look into it though as he leaves, asking Karl to keep him in the loop.
Karl is about to rant once he shows Christian out but Susan stops him and informs him that he can get to know Steve better tonight as the Parker family are coming round for dinner.
Hospital
Pepper and Adam rush to the hospital and Frazer says they are still waiting for Carmella's test results to come back. Rosie asks where they have been and Pepper can't resist but announcing that she and Adam are getting married. While Frazer congratulates the happy couple, Rosie is thinking with her legal head and brings up what could happen if they get caught but Pepper couldn't care about that - she just wants to be with Adam.
Registry office
Adam and Pepper are trying to book a date to get married and want to do so next week but Mrs Unhelpful reminds them that they need to wait a month and a day (mmm, so why Charlie & Valda get married a couple of hours after he proposed or more recently Frazer & Rosie at a week's notice ). Mrs Unhelpful suggests the 7th September instead and they accept the date and sign on the dotted line but they seem to get cold feet when Mrs Unhelpful mentions that fees have to be paid before they get married.
No. 30
Adam and Pepper look through the scrapbook that Chris mentioned earlier that she did when she was a kid and describing her dream wedding. Both seem to realise that the registry wedding isn't the way they want to do things but there doesn't seem to be an alternative.
Vet surgery
Karl is round to bring Steve up to date about the drugs - they have received a clean bill of health by the QA figures. Steve doesn't exactly believe him and Karl tries to offer possible reasons why but gives him a sweetener of some free samples. After a bit of awkwardness when they talk about the forthcoming meal, Karl departs and Steve gets right on the phone to ask a pharmacist friend of his to check out the drugs Karl has just brought round.
Hospital
Peggy finishes taking Carmy's blood pressure, which was a little low, but not alarming, and Carmy wonders if it is to do with the crash. The doc doesn't rule that out and suggests it could be delayed shock and when she mentions taking blood samples Rosie decides to bail out.
Out in the corridor, Frazer tells Rosie that it must be stress related and promises to lay off. They start talking about Ringo deciding to go home and Rosie suggests to him that it might be best for him to go home as she fears he has grown up too quickly. Frazer isn't exactly agreeing with his wife and Rosie reminds him that it is Ringo's decision to leave.
Vet surgery
Didge brings Steve the fax with the results from his pharmacist friend and it shows that his analysis disputes what the packaging of the drugs say.
Miranda arrives to talk names for the business (and to have a dig about how slow the painting is coming along) but Steve announces that he has already chosen the name of the business - Erinsborough Vet Clinic. They don't exactly like his suggestion and she reminds him to get the walls finished before they go to the Kennedys for dinner.
After Miranda leaves, Steve takes another look at the fax and tells Didge that is mate tested the old batch too and that they also don't match up to what the label says.
STEVE: Looks like Karl's company is diddling the market. Damn.
DIDGE: What?
STEVE: I liked the guy. It's going to be an interesting dinner party.
No. 30
Pepper has resorted to some "rocks" to help her decide what to do and they say go to Italy. Adam reminds her that she doesn't want to go or do the registry wedding either. Pep is trying to say how good the registry wedding will be and Adam replies that she'll convince herself if she keeps going.
PEPPER: It wouldn't be so bad.
ADAM: It will be second best.
PEPPER: Well it's better than nothing at all.
The discussions aren't exactly progressing but he cheers her up by saying they have 8 weeks left in which to decide on something before his visa is up.
Hospital
Camry comes back from talking to the nurse to tell Rosie and Frazer that her test results will be available soon.
Just at that moment, Prue leads Ringo out of his room and Frazer double checks that he really is going ahead with this, he is, and asks him to think about it more. "There is nothing to think about," replies Ringo as mother and son head off with Prue promising to let Frazer know they have arrived safely. Frazer stops them to say he is going too, to help Ringo realise that he can still have dreams because he isn't going to let his brother chuck them away, he is too special.
No. 28
Zeke has another sly dig about Tom being in the nursing home to Susan as they wait for Steve and Didge to arrive. Karl thought Harold was coming but Susan tells him about making arrangements to heading north to see Sky. Susan, Karl and Miranda talk about Sky & Kerry's adventures north with Boyd, with Miranda remarking that it is a long journey for a baby.
MIRANDA: Not that it's any of my business.
KARL: Oh, no, no, no. You're proving yourself to be a true Erinsborough resident here.
MIRANDA: Really?
KARL: Oh yes. First rule is to know everyone else's business.
SUSAN: Oh yes before they do if possible.
KARL: And then make sure the rest of the street find out about it.
Miranda promises to bear that in mind as Karl lets Didge and Steve in. She has a go at her husband and daughter for not getting changed out of their overalls but Steve explains that they would have been late if they had and though it better that they weren't late.
Karl is about to hand Steve a beer but he refuses it and Karl thinks it is because he isn't a beer man.
STEVE: I had a pharmacist friend look at those drug samples you left.
KARL: Oh.
STEVE: And the concentration was about 60% of what they claimed on the label.
Karl is surprised at that and asks Steve if it is true, so he shows Karl the fax that his mate sent.
STEVE: I had you picked out as a pretty straight up and down sort of block. If you are I'm happy to have a beer with you but if you knew all along that you've been hawking dodgy goods then we're going to have to say goodnight.
Hospital
Peggy finishes looking over the test results and tells Carmy that everything is fine except her iron count is a bit low but that is to be expected. She also mentions that she wants Carmella to say in overnight for some more tests to be on the safeside. Carmella asks what is wrong with her, which puzzles the doc who thinks she should obviously know what is wrong. The doc double checks the paperwork before telling Carmella that the news is obviously going to be a bit of a surprise.
DR NEWTON: You're pregnant!
CARMELLA: ...
