Katya and Guy going to get the money she hid.
Pepper trying to get Frazer to leave No. 30.
Guy and Katya getting into a struggle and the gun going off.
Bush
Guy lets the gun fall and walks away and Katya collapses onto the ground. Being a kind gentleman not, he takes the bag with the money and leaves her lying.
No. 30
Pepper and Frazer and still squabbling over how they got a room at No. 30. Neddy and Will aren't happy and Rosie backs Pepper up. Both parties are trying to point out the advantages of the other one not being there and tempers are getting a bit hot until Neddy tells them to stop.
No. 28
Rachel comes home in a moody because of Janelle spouting off to all in sundry and Susan remarks that Karl should sue Janelle for defamation and decides to go to the salon to personally sort out Gino and Janelle. Zeke wonders if that will just make things worse but Susan couldn't care because it is going to make her feel better! Eventually though his words of wisdom stop Susan and instead suggests that he takes Karl off to play cricket but Rachel stops him because she wants to have a bonding session with Karl!
No. 30
Out in the backyard, Frazer cracks open a beer with the blokes while inside Pepper butters Ned up by offering to get rid of his frown lines. Back out in the backyard, Frazer suggests a Barbie with t-bone steaks while inside Pepper is complimenting Neddy boy on his hair while she gives him a massage. Back outside, Frazer now takes the opportunity to slag Pepper off to Ned while likewise inside she does the same about him. Outside, Frazer points out the drawback of letting Pepper stay - they get old man Steiger as a 5th housemate which Will takes great delight in pointing out the disadvantages of that too. Back indoors, Pepper is promoting the plus side of having her - you her background unlike Frazer, which Rosie backs up.
No. 28
Zeke relays the news to Susan that the hospital has just called to say Katya hasn't turned up for her shift. Susan isn't too concerned about it but Zeke is, so Susan suggests they call her and demand that she phones them back immediately...before going to get some cake.
Bush
Katya lies unconscious on the ground as her mobile starts ringing, showing that 'home' is calling. She stirs on hearing the stupid ringtone and begins to reach out to answer the phone but blacks out before she can reach it (plus the stupid ringtone has stopped too).
Surgery
Looks like Janelle's badmouthing of Karl is working - a patient calls to cancel her appointment but his day brightens up when Rachel calls by wanting help from him for her biology test because she is having trouble remembering. He begins to smell a rat and reminds her that he is due at the hospital (relieved that they can't choose which doc to see or not) too but relents to allow her to tag along with him to the hospital.
No. 30
Will and Rosie are discussing Pepper and Frazer when Ned comes in and joins them. They want to know what decision he has made but Neddy boy is having trouble making one because both are really nice. He calls them in and they literally sprint into the livingroom and announced that there are 5 of them but only 4 rooms, which means someone has to go.
PEPPER: Frazer!
FRAZER: Pepper!
They both continue nominating the other person until Ned tells them to shut up and proposes a solution - they are all up for eviction BB style and the loser moves out immediately! Will protests that he fells he is the one to lose the most and Rosie thinks it is barbaric but Pepper and Frazer think it is an ideal solution and continue with their earlier plans to butter up Ned.
ROSIE: You haven't solved anything. It's obvious how Will and I are going to vote and Pepper and Frazer, so it's still up to you.
Hospital
Karl does the teacher routine with trying to help Rachel with her biology and she compliments him before getting brownie point from him for getting all the questions he asks her correct. Rachel decides to tell him a few home truths when he gets out his wallet to pay for coffee & cake for them - that she doesn't want him to be their best mate because he isn't very good at it but that he be their step dad full time instead. Aww. Karl doesn't see it that way and thinks she is just doing it to make him better but she tells him that he is stuck with being their step dad whether he likes it or not!
RACHEL: We wouldn't have it any other way...and neither would dad.
KARL: Well I'd be honoured to be your step father. Truly honoured.
RACHEL: Great! Then you can pay for coffee!
Just as they leave Karl's office, they see someone being pushed along the corridor and Rachel remarks that it looks serious. Rachel then mentions that he must get an adrenaline burst when something like this happens and he agrees before adding that he couldn't see himself doing anything else.
We then see who the patient was on the trolley - its Katya!
No. 30
Frazer decides to have a go at Pepper, this time for leaving her clothes all around the livingroom before bringing up the fact that the house used to be known as the House of Trouser and reminds Ned how great that would be to have again. Ned doesn't quite see it that way so Will joins in the advantages of not having females living with you. Ned throws a spanner into the works by asking where Rosie fits into this 'paradise' they are creating. Frazer replies that Rosie is okay and trainable oh yes and she can cook!
NED: You are a total misogamist! In fact that is the only thing I know about you.
FRAZER: You've got me all wrong.
NED: And as for your efforts to suck up, not helping the cause mate. My vote can't be bought.
Ned takes that as his cue to leave and Will sarcastically says "that went well!"
Outside
Guy stops the car and goes to check the bag with the money...and discovers that Katya has double crossed him. Only the top and bottom notes are real, the rest is just pieces of green paper cut to the same size as a real Aussie $100 note. Guy is not a happy chappie as he throws the bag and money onto the ground shouting what would be a few obscenities if the episode aired at a different time slot!
Hospital
Susan and Zeke wait for Karl and Rachel and she gives her step daughter some good news - Libby called and has offered Rachel some work experience with the Sheparton newspaper that she works for. Rachel is absolutely stoked (obviously Caitlin's turn for some holidays) and Susan suggests a movie to celebrate and Karl stuns them all by suggesting that they go 'gold class'. His pager goes off, so he tells them to pick the movie before leaving to see what the page is about.
With Karl away, Susan wants to know what Rachel said to Karl given the good mood he is in because as well as Karl smiling he's opening his wallet too! She tells them about asking Karl for help with her biology test, which confuses Zeke because he thought that was last week and she got an A+ for it!
Karl comes back and tells them that the page was about Katya and that although he doesn't know what has happened, she is in theatre undergoing emergency surgery.
No. 30
Pepper decides to butter up Ned up by asking him about his fitness work and about using it with her pupils at school...but denies that it is sucking up as she'd *never* do that. Ned is glad to hear that but she immediately contradicts herself by sucking up and offering him some freshly cooked cookies.
Looks like Neddy boy has had enough as he asks Bob what he's done to deserve this before Pepper hands him the phone - it's Susan.
Hospital
The police arrive and talk to Karl, which freaks Zeke out a bit and Susan tries to play it down as just being an accident to reassure the kids that there is nothing sinisterly wrong with their sister until they get more details.
Karl comes over to tell them that Katya was found in the bush by a couple of hitchhikers and was brought into the hospital by rescue helicopter and answers Rachel's question by telling her he doesn't know how bad she is except that it is serious and that she hasn't regained consciousness. Zeke asks if she will die and Susan wants to know what happened to her and Karl relays that Katya's injuries were caused by a gun shot.
Ramsay Street
Guy waits in his car before deciding to get out and head towards No. 28 but before he gets far, Ned sees him when he exit's No. 30, and so decides to play dumb and says that he is here to see Katya and asks if she is home. Ned tells him that she isn't home but in hospital and that he doesn't know why before adding that he is off to the hospital. Guy has a bit of a brainwave and tells Ned that he isn't fit to drive and volunteers to take him to the hospital, so they can both find out how she is.
No. 30
Frazer and Rosie are playing silly games with each other and he says that he will miss her most just when they were finally starting to connect. Rosie decides it is time to talk about his behaviour especially towards Pepper and herself, which he flatly denies but adds that he made himself quite clear to Pepper from the start. Frazer then admits that he is starting to like Rosie more than just a flatmate and she looks quite stunned at what he has just admitted.
Hospital
Katya is out of theatre but is in a coma as Zeke and Rachel sit by her bedside.
Out in the corridor, Karl is having trouble trying to work out why Katya has been shot, he thinks it is so random but notices a look on Susan's face and asks her to explain. Susan doesn't reply to that part but adds that she hopes Katya is okay just as Ned and Guy arrive. Karl tells them that it doesn't look good, Guy and Karl/Susan introduce themselves (she wondered who he was) before Karl gives them the go-ahead to enter Katya's room.
Inside the room, Ned goes up to where Zeke and Rachel are and assures them that Katya will be okay, even if Rachel doesn't quite think so. He leans down and kisses her on the cheek and starts to get a bit emotional so volunteers to take the kids for a milk shake. Guy of course is playing the part well, looking upset...until the three of them leave the room.
GUY: I'd love to pull the plug on you, you ripped me off but then I'd never find where you stashed that hundred grand, its my hundred grand, so I'm going to stick around for a while. I'm going to be real friendly with Ned and the kids. I just met your step parents, lovely people. By the time you wake up we're going to be one big happy family. I guarantee it.
