Recap (with more tension-building, exciting recap music)
Ned asks Carmella to stay for dinner and she agrees
The Lawman™ (Toad) and Suze rescue Katya
Robert shoots Paul
Hospital
Katya wakes up to see Susan and Toadie by her bedside, with the good news that Robert is in custody. Katya is still distressed as Susan tells her to relax and rest, and, when Toadie tries to hold her hand, she recoils at his touch. Toadie decides to give her some peace.
Outside in the hall Susan tells Toadie to wait a while - Katya has been through a lot. But Toadie's thinking that maybe they're better off as friends. For once he's going to make a rational decision about women. Susan decides to go back to Katya.
Scarlet Bar
Carmella talks Ned into doing a hospital gig for the kids in the children's ward. Lou appears, wondering where Toadie is because he needs help with some downloading (nothing dodgy, just getting photos off his camera). But, alas, his camera is pretty ancient so Lou decides to head to the chemist for old fashioned film instead, but not before he asks Carmella and Ned not to say anything to Toadie. Carmella and Ned look about as confused as I am.
Hospital
Rachel is glad to see Katya. Zeke doesn't know about the whole abduction yet, as Susan didn't want to worry him. Karl comes in with the good news that the sedative Rob administered should be out of Katya's system soon.
Hospital
In another room Lynnie is sorting Paul's sheets to make him comfortable (surely Paul should have a room reserved for him, the number of times he's been in that place recently). Paul is annoyed about being kept in and manages to pull out an x-ray, which shows he only suffered a hairline fracture. Lyn argues he should be under observation for shock, as much as anything else. Paul says it was much worse the first time he got shot - no bullet proof vest then.
Elle shows Lyn out but she won't go. So instead Elle manages to get her to run home and get some pjs for Paul. Once she's gone Elle asks Paul how he can indulge Lyn and be so horrid to Gail and Izzy. Why did he send them away? Paul says he just wanted some 'me time' after his near-death experience (even though they happen pretty regularly). Elle says they were only so enthusiastic about seeing him as they want to know if he's made up his mind. She tells him to make a decision! But it isn't that easy. Elle seems to take this as meaning he's chosen Gail and she won't hear otherwise, despite Paul's efforts.
Hospital
Susan catches Karl in the hallway and thanks him for being there. Karl thinks he should keep his distance, after the look he got from Rachel. Susan says she's hurting. But she had thought that Rachel, out of all the kids, would have been the most understanding.
Meanwhile Rachel is telling Katya that Karl is so smug about his big doctor act - healing the sick and all that. Rachel wonders if their affair was going on longer than just two weeks. Katya only thought there was something going on when she first arrived because she didn't know who they really were- they're good people. Rachel doesn't like her making excuses for them and asks if Katya thinks it's okay. Katya has thought about it a lot and thinks that, yes, Karl and Susan being back together is okay.
Hospital
Back to where we left off, where Rachel thinks Katya has been brainwashed by the doc. Katya says Karl is a good man and Rachel should realise this.
RACHEL: As good as Dad?
She goes on to say that Karl was just biding his time until he could pick up again with Susan. Katya thinks that Alex would want Susan to be happy. But Rachel is still yelling about Karl waiting for Alex to die until he could get what he really wanted. She had thought Katya would've been on her side.
Susan comes in and Rachel decides to storm off back home - to the Timmins' house.
Number 24
Harold wants to know why Lou needs to find Toadie. After telling a fib about maybe buying Bob and then a retirees wrestling league, Lou comes clean; channel forty-four are having a competition to find the best photograph of the mystery man from the 'Dancing Toadie' clip. The prize money is a grand!! Lou thinks he's in with a good shot as he knows it's really Jarrod Rebbechi. Harold thinks it's downright silly. Lou says he's only trying to raise money to go and see Mishka. Harold gives in and says he'll help take the photo.
Number 22
Lyn is round with a big basket of food but Elle won't let her take it to the patient. Elle manages to wrestle the basket from her before shutting the door.
ELLE: What is that woman's malfunction? Luckily I speak Hairdresser.
Meow. Paul is very happy to see croissants and other goodies.
Scarlet Bar
Ned and Carmella still haven't seen Toadie. Ned tells Lou to get a life.
Number 22
Elle is talking about Lyn's mad behaviour- if she didn't know better she'd think that Lyn had a crush on him! Elle can tell by Paul's evil laugh that this is actually the case. Elle can't believe it - surely Lyn knows she hasn't a chance. She hopes Paul isn't giving her hints otherwise. Paul shrugs and Elle thinks he's horrible.
Elle hopes he's not giving false hopes to Gail too. Paul says he saw things clearly yesterday - he felt something at that ceremony and so did Gail. Elle is excited by this admission but wonders about Izzy and hopes Paul won't have his cake and eat it. Paul hasn't the foggiest about what she means.
Number 28
Katya is still shaking. Zeke and Susan arrive back and Zeke shows off some of his bruises from footy camp. Susan is sure he'll get to play some actual footy soon, as he's only worked his way up to being a mascot so far.
Rachel comes in and asks if Susan's told Zeke about what happened while he was gone.
Number 24
Carmella comes round to thank Harold for his advice. Ned is much better off without Justine and he's even doing volunteer work at the hospital now. Lou comes in and makes an unfunny joke about Justine's sudden disappearance, wondering if Rocco had anything to do with it. Lou asks about Toadie again but he still hasn't returned. Lou thinks Carmella wants in on the competition and is lying. She admits that Toadie will be back for a late breakfast soon. Lou drags Harold out in the direction of number 30.
Number 28
Zeke isn't happy that he wasn't contacted about Katya. If Mal was in trouble Susan would call Billy - but maybe he's just not as important as her real kids. Susan says that isn't true; the kids are very important to her. Zeke asks why, then, didn't she tell him?
RACHEL: She didn't tell you that she and Karl were back together again either, did she?
Susan says it was a mistake not to tell him about Katya but her situation with Karl is much more complicated than it looks.
ZEKE: I hate you.
He runs off and Rachel tells Susan not to bother going after him - she'll look after him.
Hospital
The Oodles and Noodles gig was a success - Karl says all reunion gigs are. Ned would like to do more - he could do them solo, as Karl doesn't have the time, and they'll still gig together outside the hospital. Karl thinks it's good for band members to have outside interests.
Once Karl has gone Carmella tells Ned what a big heart he has. Ned says she does so much more than he does.
Lassiter's
Harold and Lou set up camp in some bushes outside Toadie's office. Harold is annoyed it's taking so long. He thinks they look dodgy and suggests Lou go up to Toadie and get the photo that way. Lou thinks it might work.
Harold is just about to give it one last shot when a police man comes up and tells him there have been some complaints about him. Harold tells him it was Lou's idea. The Police-Cop asks if he's a birdwatcher and Harold says, in actual fact, he is! The cop knows his type. Harold tells him the story of Lou and Mishka and digs himself into a bigger hole.
Number 26
The younger Kinski siblings decide they can't trust Susan and Karl. Rachel says Susan only thinks of herself. It's just her and Zeke now. Zeke wants to come and live with Rachel but she doesn't think it's fair on Lyn. Zeke wonders where they can go as they have no one to look after them. Rachel suddenly thinks of somewhere they can go.
Scarlet Bar
Harold isn't happy that Lou didn't come to his defence in the cop situation. Harold says he has a reputation to uphold.
He asks Ned where Toadie is and starts to tell him about the 'stupid' competition, before Lou stops him. Ned thinks Toad won't want to be bothered and Harold decides to leave the photo taking to Lou.
Susan tells Karl that Zeke was crushed upon finding out about the Kusan reunion. Karl thinks he's smart, but Susan says he's hurting a lot. Karl thinks they should sit the kids down and talk to them about it.
Number 28
Zeke and Rachel are telling Katya that they have nothing to do with Karl and Susan's happiness - after all they've been seeing each other behind their backs.
Karl and Susan appear and Katya gives them space to talk to the kids. But Rachel and Zeke have something to say too; they've contacted their mother's relatives in Sydney and have decided to go up there to live with them. Karl and Susan are shocked.
