Lassiters
Kim turns up for work and wants to know what to do but Joe isn't exactly enthralled to see as he thinks he is just there for a skive but Kim tells him that he is here to work. Joe thinks that Janelle has cracked the whip and sent him out to work but Kim replies that he is out to prove to Janelle that he can hack it because he loves her. Sky comes along with a cuppa for them and wonders why Kim isn't in court. Kim tells her that it is only a short job today and he'll be along in time for the start of the trial. Sky confirms that she won't be there because she doesn't care, but Kim tells her that the trial will begin at 11.
No. 30
Stu comes in from running and is annoyed about Toadie giving away the money for Connor's wake to the Salvo's until Toadie tells him that Connor isn't dead. Stu looks stunned but Toadie quickly leaves to get ready for court.
Police station/holding cell
Stinger is still protesting against Dylan's plan, so Dylan goes for the heart stings - Janelle, and tells Stinger that none of the other brothers are going to be around, so he has to be the man that she can lean on and their dad doesn't count.
No. 26
A nervous Janelle has a mishap with the mascara as Bree comes through to the kitchen. Janelle doesn't like what she is wearing and so pushes her back to the bedroom to change but quickly realises she's gone too far and calls Bree back. They have a hug until she notices the time (9.30) and says they'll be late. Bree comments that there is plenty of time but Janelle want the boys to see them when they arrive at the court. She takes her frustrations out on Bree's hair, as Janae is nowhere to be seen and adds that Janae better hurry up and show her face or she can stay away permanently.
Scarlet Bar
Turns out Janae is waiting at TSB but admits to Boyd that she doesn't want to go to court and see her brothers being sent down. Max tells her that she is there to back up her brothers and to let them know that someone is on their side at the moment. Janae likes what Max said to her and tells Boyd that Max is awesome, which surprises Boyd, and she adds that she imagined having a dad like Max when she was little and that Boyd doesn't realise how lucky he is having a dad like Max.
The General Store
Joe and Kim enter The General Store for some food and a few seconds later Paul comes in looking for Toadie, as he can't find him at all. Kim says that he'll be at the court and Paul asks who he is, so Joe does the introductions. Kim and Paul make polite conversation about Dylan while Paul gets a drink and on the way out asks Joe to let Toadie know he is looking for him. Kim isn't happy at Paul blanking him but Joe points out that is how Paul treats everyone before telling Kim that things will go well for his boys at the trial.
Sky enters and approaches Kim to pass a message onto Stinger but there is no message for Dylan. Kim in a round about way tries to get her to go to the trial so she doesn't have regrets like him for the rest of her life, or at least that is what I think he was trying to say!
No. 30
Toadie rushes home to retrieve his mobile and both he and Stu wish each other well for the trail before Stu asks Toadie if he knows where Connor is. Toadie replies that he doesn't know as Paul knocks on the door wanting to know if he can do anything to help Dylan at the trial, like a character witness, but Toadie doesn't think is appropriate just yet.
Outside the court
Janelle and Bree arrive at the court with Janelle spitting blood because Janae and Kim are nowhere to be seen. They meet Toadie and he reminds her not to shout at the judge as they spot Dylan and Stinger arriving at the court (they are a bit miffed to see only two of their family waiting for them). As they are taken past, Janelle tells them to hold their heads up high, as Janae and Boyd arrive. Janae asks how they are and Bree replies that they look scared. Janelle suggests to Bree that she goes home as she feels she isn't up to watching the proceedings and just as Bree is getting ready to go, Stinger spots Kim and Sky arriving. Dylan looks surprised to see Sky before being taken into the building.
Court
Oh no, it's hanging Judge Evans in the chair for the trial (as Toadie described him before Steph's court case). He reads out Dylan's charge and as Toadie says "not guilty" Dylan says "guilty" at the same time, which takes everyone by surprise. Toadie tries to say to the judge that Dylan must have misheard and should have said not guilty but Dylan confirms that he pleads guilty. The judge reads out Stinger's charge and Toadie gets in quick with the "not guilty" which Stinger confirms before adding that he was lying to cover his brother. Janelle wants to know what he is playing at and the judge tells Toadie to sort things out before he returns to court.
Scarlet Bar
Max and Joe are surprised to see Bree come into the bar and Max relents by allowing her to sit and read even though she is underage. Joe asks Max to get him some drinks as he goes to talk to Bree about the case and he also wants some advice from her too, which is really just a cover so she isn't sitting by herself.
Court
Janelle wants to go and talk to her boys but Kim restrains her. At the bench Toadie wants to know who has dreamt up the plan and reminds Dylan he's looking at time if he continues with it. Dylan tells Toadie that he is doing this to keep Stinger out of jail but Toadie points out that now things don't look good for Stinger either, as he could now be found guilty of being an accessory after the fact and will be sent to jail. Dylan now suggests that Stinger changes his plea to guilty and Toadie sucks up to the judge but Toadie doesn't think it will help.
Toadie decides to ask the quiet Stinger if he is happy with the plan Dylan has and Stinger says that he is just doing what Dylan is telling him to do. Toadie is exasperated at this because he thinks he could have kept both of them out of jail if they hadn't mucked up, but Dylan is still insistent so that Stinger goes home tonight.
The judge comes back into the court and Toadie confirms the plea of guilty for both of them and pleads for leniency for Stinger given his age at the time of the crime. The judge promises to consider the circumstances before wanting to hear from the accused.
Scarlet Bar
Joe tells Bree and Max of his "issue" - about Lyn asking him to marry him but Bree just wants to know if he's said yes yet! Joe explains further that it is also an ultimatum too, he either says yes or he gets out of her life and wants their views on if it will blow over or not. Max reminds him that he's dealing with a Scully and once they've got an idea in their head, that's it (obviously speaking from experience!) Bree confirms that Lyn means it too because Lyn doesn't rush into things. Joe wants to know the odds given he has three failed marriages already.
MAX: About as good as Bouncer 5 getting a win at the 5th at Winty.
JOE: Exactly, shockin'.
Bree reminds that that love is a gamble and you don't know how things are going to turn out. Max backs Bree up and Joe appreciates what they are saying, and tells them that he loves Lyn and is in it for the long haul but he doesn't need that bit of paper to do it.
JOE: I'll love her and I'll spend the rest of my life trying to make her happy but I don't want to marry her.
Court
Dylan has obviously told the judge his version of things but he doesn't believe Dylan one little bit, especially the bit implicating Roo in it and for changing his plea at the last minute to get a lower sentence. The judge finally has enough of what he is saying and tells Dylan to sit down so he can hear Stinger's story. Stinger looks so scared as he stands up, unlike the cockiness Dylan was portraying, and the judge wants to know if what Dylan said was true. Hold those thoughts for one second as we cut to a commercial break.
Court
"Everything he said was true," Stinger tells the court and "that he bashed me up and threatened me". Stinger isn't exactly telling a convincing story and the judge isn't impressed either with the additional comments Dylan is making to make the story seem real (that Dylan was a violent person). Those watching in the public gallery don't look like they know what to make of these stories either as the judge retires to consider the sentencing but he obviously isn't going to take too long, since he is only adjourning the court for 30 minutes.
However before the judge can leave the court, Stinger calls out "wait" and admits that it was all a lie. Janelle shouts out that she wants to know what the two of them are playing at before the judge resumes his position after threatening to clear the court.
"What do you mean you lied?" asks the judge, so Stinger explains that Dylan did tell the truth and that he was coerced but by Roo. Toadie asks for a recess but the judge tells him to be quiet so he can hear more from Stinger. Stinger continues and says that he was in the car while the robbery took place because Roo made him. The judge asks why didn't he report this coercion to the police straight away, and asks Stu as the investigating officer to stand up and confirm if a report was made. Stu confirms that a report wasn't made and Stinger tells the court that Roo's mate had a knife and would hurt him if Dylan didn't do the robbery. Dylan shouts out that Stinger is mental and needs medical help but the judge tells him he's heard enough. Stinger tries one last plea but the judge has heard enough and will come back in 30 mins for sentencing.
Scarlet Bar
Joe tries to laugh off Lyn's ultimatum and even cites statistics to confirm that they haven't got a hope. Max doesn't buy Joe's thinking that she needs him more than the other way around. Joe also adds that he is going to stick to his guns too because Lyn will fold and do things his way. Bree points out that he may gamble it all away but Joe thinks the odds are now in his favour and he won't be the loser.
JOE: You watch, Lyn is gonna cave.
Court
The watching in the gallery are nervous as the judge reappears. The judge starts by telling them that he isn't impressed with their records and he can't find any mitigating circumstances or facts either to encourage leniency.
JUDGE: Scott John Timmins, I sentence you to four years at Warrinor Correctional facility for adults (Janelle starts to cry) with a two year non-parole period. Dylan Kim Timmins you'll serve at the same facility and I sentence you to ten years with a four year non-parole period.
Janelle and those in the gallery can't believe it as the judge orders them to be taken into custody.
