Recap
- Izzy telling Max he can't tell her how to live her life before rejecting his offer to buy her out of the Scarlet Bar.
- Dylan agreeing to do aikido the way Boyd says.
No. 24
Joe has been reading up on a book he borrowed from the library - Greyhound Racing For Morons - and has concluded that B5 is chronically depressed! He wants them to sit and read it but Lyn is busy making another meal as her veggie lasagne was rejected by Zeke due to his wheat intolerance and is counting down the days until they leave, ever so thankful to Janelle inviting them to stay while she goes up to Colac! The phone ringing interrupts their chat - it's Max with news of Steph and the baby after the accident, and she invites them to have a meal with them.
Bree has come through when the phone started ringing and Lyn puts her out of her misery by telling her the call wasn't about Janae. Bree almost gets caught out doing a Janelle impression by Zeke, so she feigns that she is really concerned about her sister and Zeke offers her comfort. Lyn on the other hand wishes she could do something to him when he announces that he can't have dairy products, just as she is adding milk to something.
No. 22
Paul comes home surprised to see Izzy still up and wonders where the handy man is but Izzy isn't exactly with it, so Paul tells her to go to bed and without him. On getting the knock back from him, she kisses him and announces she's off to find someone and agrees with Paul when he shouts out to her that she shouldn't be doing this.
No. 26
The Hoylands are round for their meal but Steph doesn't like what Lyn has cooked because she's got a craving for marshmallows! Boyd does the dutiful stepson bit by leaving to get some from the store, as Lyn wants to know about the accident. Max says that Izzy pushed Steph over and Lyn asks if it was deliberate but Steph thinks it was an accident. Lyn leaves to tell the kids to be quiet and Max asks if he is being too hard on Izzy but she doesn't commit herself to a reply except to tell Max that he needs to talk to Izzy even if it is just to let her know the he still loves her. Max replies that he isn't sure if he can face her just now and Steph points out the obvious that if Izzy thinks he hates her then she isn't going to sell them her share in the bar.
No. 30
Boyd and Dylan practise some more aikido moves in practice for his "date" with Mike and Boyd is impressed when Dylan manages to throw him as he comes in to attack him. They continue to practise and Sky catches them (they're bare-chested) in a clinch (they thought she was Toadie coming in) and they quickly break apart feeling embarrassed at being caught by her. They try to brush her off and Sky announces that she is off to the cinema and Dylan quickly realises that they had plans and abandons the training.
No. 22
Max calls round wanting to know where Izzy is but Paul doesn't know but suggests Cube. Max goes to leave but before he does, he has a go at Paul for not stopping Izzy from going out on a bender since he was supposed to be looking out for her. Paul replies that Izzy is her own person and he couldn't have stopped her. Max wants to know why Paul is helping her and he says it is because he cares for her but Max isn't buying it and before he goes he firmly tells Paul that he'd better look after Izzy because if she goes under then he'll want answers.
No. 26
It's like Grand Central Station at the breakfast table - Rachel is on a high due to having red cordial and jellybeans for breakfast, Bree is trying to make a smoothie with the blender, Joe is tending to B5 and Lyn is trying to sort Oscar out. Finally she decides to clear all the kids out into the sunshine and the 3 of them head out. Joe in his infinite wisdom decides that if Rachel can get 'high' on the red cordial then it can inject some life into B5 too and earns Lyn's wrath for doing so in case Harvey has some.
No. 22
A nervous Izzy tries to have some OJ as Paul tells her about Max's visit the previous night. Someone knocks on the door and Izzy announces she isn't home and leaves Paul to answer it. A gentleman is on the doorstep looking for Izzy and Paul tries to give him the brush off but he is insistent and so Paul lets him in. He seems to know Izzy but she hasn't got a clue who he is and she wants Paul to get rid of him but he refuses to move and fills in the blanks for Izzy - she told him in Cube last night that she was selling her share in TSB and he gave her a $1000 down payment cheque! Izzy denies agreeing to this and heads up to her room leaving him standing there.
No. 26
Sky calls round to ask Dylan if he's picked which Uni he is going to go to next year as she is off to post hers but Dylan brushes her off. She now tries to talk to her dad but he too brushes her off in favour of spending some time with Lyn.
No. 22
Dennis is explaining to Paul why he gave her the cheque (she allegedly had another interested party) and hold him to come round to sign the contracts today, he even shows Paul the stub in his chequebook as proof. Paul hands Dennis his business card and sends him on his merry way promising to look into the matter on Izzy's behalf today. With Dennis safely out the door, Izzy makes a reappearance complete with her handbag, which doesn't have the cheque he claimed he wrote.
Lassiters Park
Zeke, Rachel and Bree walk along and suddenly find a cheque for $1000. Now I wonder whose cheque that could be! Zeke wants to go to the police but Bree says it's finder's keepers and if they were careless to lose the cheque in the first place well then that is tough luck. Zeke now suggests they had it to a responsible adult and notices Lou but Bree tells him that Lou is a know criminal and therefore isn't responsible, so Rachel suggests that they keep it.
No. 30
Sky comes into No. 30 and isn't impressed by what she hears (Boyd and Dylan's voices and Boyd saying "that hurts", "just relax" and "go with the flow"), so she makes her way quietly into the living room where she sees them practicing aikido moves, again shirtless. They quickly break apart when they see her and she asks if they've seen Serena (they haven't) before finally asking what is going on. Reluctantly Boyd tells her about him teaching Dylan aikido so that Dylan can take care of Mike. Sky is less than impressed even when they tell her that aikido is not about aggression and she walks out on them.
No. 22
Max and Steph call round to talk to Izzy about making her an offer for her half of TSB and Paul tells them about the guy who was round earlier. They are both stunned at the news and Max points out that Izzy can't sell her share without his consent but Paul thinks otherwise especially as the cheque the guy gave has gone missing. They leave asking Paul to get her to phone them as soon as she wakes up.
Paul decides to take a look though Izzy's handbag and discovers bottles of pills and he doesn't look amused.
No. 26
Steph and Max are babysitting for Oscar to allow Joe and Lyn to take B5 for a massage! but Max is concerned about what happened with Izzy and wanting to get the matter resolved. Steph wonders what they will do if she has sold out to a complete stranger and Max says they contact a lawyer before telling Steph that although Izzy has problems atm she isn't going to get away with this.
Boyd arrives looking for Dylan (they don't know where he is) when Sky appears just as he is about to exit. She has a go at him for helping Dylan given her views on violence and Boyd explains she can believe what she wants but suggests giving Dylan some respect for trying to take care of Mike without violence before adding that it is a 'guy' thing too and she'll just have to learn to deal with it or what sort of future do they hold. Sky replies that perhaps they don't have a future.
The General Store
The kids are deciding on what they can spend the money on and how they can divide it equally. Rachel suggests buying one big thing but they just end up going round in circles on dividing it up equally (2 of them against 1 of Bree).
No. 26
Joe and Lyn arrive back frustrated at the noise that the kids are making and the tension that there has been around the place lately. Joe wonders if B5 is picking up on the bad vibes and that is the reason he is unwell. Lyn points out the obvious - B5 just doesn't have what it takes, which Joe dismisses telling Lyn that all he needs is love, rest, encouragement and good food - just like them as they snuggle up on the sofa. Joe leans in for a pash but Lyn pulls back as Steph, Max and Oscar could be home any minute and doesn't want to get caught. They are both getting a bit frustrated with the lack of privacy around the place. Lyn tells Joe that she never thought she'd feel this happy again and Joe replies back that he thinks they've got what it takes. They go to kiss each other when Bree, Zeke and Rachel walk in and ruin the moment.
LYN: That's it. This whole thing is going to change. Janelle and her whole bloomin brood.
Outside
Sky approaches Dylan but before she can speak he says he was going to find her once she'd cooled down. They both debate what is going to happen - Sky that it is stupid male pride and Dylan his honour with the looks that neither is willing to back down on this matter. Sky decides to take the initiative and tells him that she surrenders, that Sky learns how to compromise. Dylan hugs her but can't keep her promise of not getting hurt but instead promises to be prepared.
No. 22
Izzy surfaces all dressed up for a night on the tiles and goes straight to her handbag but she obviously can't find what she is looking for. From the kitchen Paul holds up the tablets and asks if she is looking for something. She goes straight over to get the pills from him but Paul tells her that he isn't going to let her self-destruct and opens the bottles to let the tablets fall out into the sink. Izzy announces that she doesn't need those tablets and that she is off out and Paul goes to stop her from leaving but he falls down as she barges past him.
IZZY: Never stand in the way of a girl having a good time Paul.
PAUL: (lying on the floor) Izzy, I need a hand. Come on.
IZZY: Don't you think you need a leg?
