Recap
- Janae wanting the cosmetic surgery and getting angry with Karl
- Joe and Lyn hooking up
- Dylan getting punched by Mike
The General Store
Mike is being obnoxious while he waits at the counter - what else is new? Joe finishes getting off the phone with Max - gleefully tells Lyn he's got a job fixing their fridge. Dylan bursts through the store, with Sky on his tail and jumps onto Mike. Punch up, unfortunately Dylan once again only sees the end of Mike's fist. Joe breaks it up and Mike scampers off like the rat he is...yelling he should get one of his sisters to come see him next time.

Sky helps Dylan put the ice-pack on his face, while Janelle muses Mike must have been taking kick-boxing lessons but not to worry 'cause next time, Dylan will be ready. He's got cunning street smarts and that ain't no match for Mikey. Sky is shocked at Janelle for suggesting he retaliate, violence is never the answer? Janelle doesn't see the light, as he's just getting his own back on the mongrel who hurt his sister! Speaking of she who actually hasn't said much at all, Janae promptly walks off. Her mum follows, but Janae doesn't want to talk.
Back in the kitchen, Sky tries again to talk Dylan out getting even with Mike but he doesn't want to talk about it. It's okay for him to be angry when she wants, but not for him?
Scarlet Bar
The newest couple of Ramsay Street, Lyn&Joe waltz through, with Joe yapping away on the phone to a client...excusing himself to why he's not working, again of course. States he is busy with Max Hoyland (and calling out to Max for effect) but will try his hardest to be done! Lyn has gone somewhere, so it's just Joe and good old Paul who happens to overhear the conversation. Paul does the smirk and yes, he overheard BUT he was quite impressed. So impressed, he'd like to proposition Joe...with a job offer. Very non-specific, as it involves a bit of "this" (rubs his fingers together)
Erinsborough High
Sky apologises to Dylan for sending mixed messages as she truly loves him for who he is. Aww. She just doesn't want Dylan to get so angry for revenge, she has seen it with Boyd and knows how it practically destroyed his life. He doesn't want that to happen to Dylan and besides, they will be out of school in a few months and won't have to deal with people like Mike again. He simply is not worth it...obviously he won't use Loreal. Speak of the devil! It's Mike and he uses one of his charming taunts. Dylan and Sky simply walk away. Good on ya! "Too easy," is Mike...but not really, you moron.
Scarlet Bar
Joe is very tempted by the "bees and honey" Paul has to offer him - he could use it to get Sky through uni! But, he's just weary on the organising aspect, so not very good at those. Paul tries to say he'd be a supervisor...unfortunately that is even worse! Can't organise anything to save his life. Finally, Paul carefully states he will be the overseer guy. His role will be making sure people don't rip him off, while they work on a construction site on one of his properties. (Paul is still MrMcSketchy on the job details) Joe wants a week to think about it, but he doesn't have it. He needs to give a yes/no answer right now!
Lyn comes back to the front and says Steph isn't here but she needs to go to the salon anyway. Paul leans over and whispers there'd be plenty of "honey" left over for other certain things...Joe gets an agreeable look in his eye and nods. Paul'd better not shaft him though! Grinning, Paul is pleased but wishes to keep it under wraps until it becomes official. Lyn comes over and wants to know the dirt, but Joe ain't spilling. He just needs some time Lynnie.

The phones are running hot, as Janelle promises a customer their delivery will be on time...and yes, their next delivery will be free. Knock knock, someone is at the door. It is Go-Go and she's mad. Oh yes, mad. Basically, Janelle needs to move her lil business outta her territory! Sorry sistah, this joint ain't big enough for the two of 'em. Janelle agrees with this and even has the perfect solution. A race! A race to end all races...a bike race, winner takes all. She'll send her the details but in the meantime, get out (don't let the door hit you honey)
Karl's Surgery
Janae is surly as Karl goes on about the plastic surgeon who will give Janae a consultation. He notices this surliness and apologises for jumping to the wrong conclusions. She simply shrugs it off, not like he's the first guy to think that. Karl explains he just wants their relationship to be clear. As doctor and counsellor, he believes those two are starting to clash and it may be time for her to see someone else. Their chat is interrupted by the arrival of Dr Canning. Upon asking Janae to stand up, he takes out a scalpel and asks if he'd really like for him to cut holes in her perfectly, healthy young body? Karl tries in vain to get a change of heart, but Janae doesn't care. It is what she wants...though she looks uncertain.
Erinsborough High
The kids are doing an exam but this doesn't stop Mike from casting "threats" towards Dylan and Sky (by making throat slashing gestures in their general direction). All does not go unnoticed by Mr Robinson who puts two and two together after Dylan doesn't respond properly when asked about his face. He tells Mike to take these trial exams properly, or else. +Paul makes the throat slashing gestures+
Karl's Office
Outside, Karl thanks Dr Canning for coming but he was only happy to. He apologises about the scalpel thing, but thought it was necessary in order to get the brutal reality across. Janae obviously overhears all of this and accuses Karl of setting her up for rejection. Karl denies it all, as if he could get a renowned doctor to do that? He states no respectable plastic surgeon would approve of Janae's surgery. She is not mature in mind or body.
Scarlet Bar
Joe tinkers away on the fridge, while Lyn fires questions ahoy about the Paul job. He doesn't know what it is, or where it is. All he knows is it will be a big construction job which he is building...somewhere. Lyn is very suspicious, especially after he tore his family apart! Joe dismisses this, he can handle guys like Paul and besides, the family is back together so it is all water under the bridge... Lyn won't take a bar of it, he is cunning and manipulative...he must be using Joe. Yes, he is all those things, but he is also loaded and it is just what he needs right now. He can't settle down without having some money saved up, and he'll need it for Sky going to uni as well. Lyn shyly wonders about Joe settling down here and he just as shyly responds back.
JOE: Well, Sky's education and Harold's lemon slice is not the only things I'm keen on.
Lyn just has to ask what that other reason could be...coyly looking at him and he grins: she may just be the best reason yet. Aww, those two crazy kids have a cuddle.
Bishops' Yard
Dressed in her bathing suit, Sky wants Dylan to come for a swim (middle of winter in Melbourne? Okay...) but he is hesitant. Oh, Harry isn't a problem anymore now the ban is over, he loves Dylan! She continues to praise him for how he acted, loving the whole strong, silent type but Dylan is still distracted. He's got things to do, yo.
Scummins' Driveway
Janelle comes tooting out on a bicycle, much to the amusement of Stinger and Bree. She is unable to stop the bike, due to a lack of 'foot breaks' and stacks it in the street. The kids laugh at her, but Janelle is still enthusiastic. Dylan can't believe she is going to race and Janae, well, Janae just walks straight past them. Janelle is annoyed there are no foot breaks and why the hell didn't they tell her? She wants Dylan to draw a race course she can win, and for Stinger to tell her what other neat surprises these modern day bikes have. Oh, and spread the word! This race will be bigger than Ben Hur!

Bree has followed Janae inside and can't understand why she won't come out. Janae flashes the card of a plastic surgeon and states she's going to see the doctor. She's got the money and that's all she needs. Bree is dumbfounded, doesn't she realise how perfect she is now? Or know how many times she has wanted to look like her? This has no effect on Janae and swears to Bree not to say a word.
Speed Freaks/Go-Go Boys Bigger-Than-Ben-Hur Bike Race Off
Go Go has the usual flock of flamingo dressed delivery boys around her, while Stinger and Dylan support their mother - although, they are very skeptical of her chances. Go-Go makes a snide remark about Stinger taking his top off for her inspiration and this changes the momentum. He and Dylan encourage their mum, giving her tips on what to do. They sneakily suggest they start the race right now, while Go-Go is back there all distracted. So, Dylan removes his shirt and starts waving it around. This indeed does get Go-Go excited, but soon turns to annoyance when Dylan starts the race.
Race Course
And they're off...with Janelle in the lead but this doesn't last for long folks. It's Go-Go, slowly catching up and soon overtakes her. Oh dear!
Karl's Office
Paul barges in and announces, much to the annoyance of Karl, tomorrow's leaseholder's meeting. And the agenda is set: it is about tenant renewals and rent prices. This gets the Karl's goad, who adamantly replies he and Toadie have a long term, water tight lease. Paul is "offended" BUT, should he have any queries than he should simply see his new business affairs manager...
He leaves and Bree runs in, looking for Karl. She needs him to come and Janae has done something really stupid.
End of Race
Go-Go rides up, much to the disappointment of Dylan and Stinger. She hops off and starts making her way down the stairs to the 'Start/Finish' banner. Janelle isn't far off though, and comes barrelling at great speeds (those blasted foot breaks!) towards the stairs. She cannot stop, and rides down the stairs, bypassing Go-Go and reaches the 'Start/Finish' banner first. Thus, technically Janelle and Speed Freaks have won the race. Suck that up Go-Go!
Karl's Office
Karl asks Janae if she'd really go through with it? She shrugs, maybe...she can do what she likes. He doesn't want to keep doing this, he doesn't want her to find new ways to manipulate him. It's not good for either of them. He gets a little tough and wants her to stop. Stop and think about her behaviour, what is she feeling? What does she really want? Janae simply states she wants to feel good about herself...but Karl will not accept this. He can't keep coming to her rescue, he is not her father.
JANAE: (tearfully) I wish you were. I wish you were my dad.
