Lyn hugs Steph and thanks her for the Christmas meal. Valda smiles at her and admits that she was a little bit worried when she heard it was seafood, but she pulled it off great. Steph grins, and Lyn insists that she has to leave because she is doing Trixie's hair in the morning. Valda scoffs and says that she would like to see Lyn make 'Little Miss Tucker' look beautiful- it would be a miracle. She then casually adds that she might go to see for herself, after all as Lou has invited her. Lyn, Max and Steph are shell-shocked and Lyn asks her whether she will go. Valda shrugs, saying that she might or might not. Lyn and Valda leave and Max and Steph hug each other as Max congratulates her for putting on a wonderful Christmas.
Harold is listening to Lou go on about the wedding half-heartedly and when Lou realizes that he isn't paying attention, he asks whether Harold is getting bored from listening to his plans. Harold shakes his head and takes a tablet insisting that he has a bit of a headache form Lil putting too much spices in her food. Karl then knocks on the door and they both look surprised to see him. He asks whether it is too late for him to come to the wedding, and Lou assures him that he can come. Harold asks whether he should be in Adelaide, but Karl admits that he has a patient who will spend Christmas alone therefore decided to stay until they are released. Lou pats him on the back and tells him what a good bloke his is, and Harold shakes his head sympathetically for the 'patient' in the hospital. Karl excuses himself wishing them a Merry Christmas and heading home. Harold watches him leave and insists that Karl's scenario is quite strange and Lou replies that he is too nervous to speculate. They continue to talk about the 'secret' wedding and honeymoon plans when Trixie walks in looking a bit concerned. Lou excuses himself to make a phone call leaving Harold and Trixie to talk.
Trixie thanks Harold for being such a great friend to Lou. Harold smiles and tells her that it is a two way street. Trixie looks pensive and then laughs, telling Harold that he probably couldn't lie to save himself. He chuckles and replies that he's not too sure about that. She asks what are these secret conversations behind her back and whether it is Lou's old flame Valda. Harold looks embarrassed but assures Trixie that it isn't. She still looks worried.
Sky knocks on the Hoylands' front door and asks whether Boyd had a good Christmas. He smiles and tells her that it was pretty good- no one was fighting and pulling each other's hair out. She laughs as he reaches under the tree and hands Sky her present. She opens it and to her amusement it is a necklace with dogtags on it, with a message engraved. Sky laughs and Boyd shuffles his feet saying that she hates it. Sky hands him the present for her and he laughs as he opens it up to find the same present. They thank each other and Boyd insists that they both must on the same wavelength. They kiss.
Trixie is rushing around trying to find her broach demanding that she cannot get married without it because it is good luck. Lyn frantically tells her that they have to leave.
Lou is in his office getting ready when he faces Harold saying that he cannot get married. Harold straightens up his suit and impatiently waves his hand telling him not to be stupid. He calls out to Connor to get the bride.
Trixie is pulling everything apart saying to Lyn that getting married without her broach is asking for trouble, after all look at her and Nick. In an attempt to hurry her up Lyn tells her that some rehearsals are bad, however the opening night is always spectacular. Trixie rolls her eyes and continues to look.
Harold looks at Lou and firmly declares that he loves Trixie. Lou admits that some people in this world are supposed to be alone and he is one of them.
Trixie jumps up and finds her broach under the couch. Lyn looks relieved and rushes her out the door.
Harold tells Lou that he is not going to let Lou waste this chance for happiness. He continues by saying that if he had the chance to have someone to grow old with he would take it; all the pain, all the happiness and romance is a blessing. After all God only gives out scraps of happiness in life so he encourages Lou to hold onto it. Lou smiles at him.
Connor picks up Trixie in the limo and comments how beautiful she looks. He asks whether she is all set and she nervously replies that she is ready as she will ever be. Her eyes begin to water and Connor exclaims, 'you can't cry! Your make-up will run.' Trixie smiles and tells Connor to stop herself crying before opening nights she has to think of something tragic - like cricket.
The stretch limo cruises through the streets of Melbourne by night and stops at a theatre. Connor helps Trixie out and she asks why they are here. Connor and Harold escort her inside as she demands to know what's going on she spots Lou. Lou holds her hand and reminds Trixie that she commented on how wonderful it would be to have a stage wedding, so her wish is his command. Trixie looks delighted as they walk down the aisle together, and everyone gives them a standing ovation- everyone except Valda, who mutters to Lyn 'who does she think she is? Catherine Zeta Jones?!'
The trumpets stop playing allowing the reverend to speak. She thanks everyone for attending the wedding of Lou and Trixie. Steph whistles and everyone laughs. Lou then begins his vows, promising to love and cherish her through laughter, tears and happiness. Karl looks pensive and Valda looks upset. Harold takes a photo of Lou, beaming.
Trixie begins her vows by handing Lou a rose as a symbol of giving herself to him, insisting that it was always her dream to have someone love her like Lou does. They both smile at each other gently.
The reverend then asks if anyone has any objections of why this couple should not be joined together on holy matrimony can speak now or forever hold their peace, and to everyone's surprise Valda stands up, calling out that she objects. Lyn hisses for her to sit down, as Lou and Trixie look horrified. Valda, who has tears in her eyes begs Lou to look at her in the eyes and say that he loves that piece of 'tiv from the tip.' Lou looks at her gently and declares that he loves Trixie, and he smiles at her. Valda heads down the aisle and to the exit calling out that the wedding is all about her, her, her and she will never love Lou as he expects her too. Valda leaves and Lyn and Steph rush out after her, Steph calling out an apology to Lou and Trixie. Everyone looks at each other confused, Sky amused. Trixie breaks the tension by awkwardly saying that she is too young to be 'tiv.' Everyone laughs and Lou makes her feel better by saying that a true theatre wedding always has drama in it.
The reverend asks the crowd to stop murmuring by reminding them that at weddings emotions run high, so can they please contain their emotion and focus on Lou and Trixie. Everyone falls silent and the reverend declares that Lou and Trixie are man and wife. They kiss and everyone heads down the aisle and up onto the stage to congratulate them.
Valda shakes her head telling Lyn that she doesn't know what came over her; one minute she's holding herself with decorum and the next she's on her feet shouting. Valda sighs and insists that now everyone knows what an idiot she is. Lyn comforts her by saying that no one will call her an idiot, not if she is around. Valda smiles and thanks her but tells Lyn that she cannot do anything; after all weddings bring out the worst in her. Valda sighs and says that the only way to deal with humiliation like this is to get away from it. Lyn asks her to stay, but Valda shakes her head. Lyn looks at Steph helplessly.
Sky and Boyd are at home laughing about the previous events from the wedding. Sky admits that it is weird to see someone that age to fight over a guy like Lou. Boyd snickers and hands it to Valda the fact that she always entertains. A phone begins to ring from Serena's bag and Sky calls out to her. There is no reply so Sky picks it up herself. Chris realizes that it is Sky from the voice and tells her that he would love to do a double photo-shoot one-day. Sky scoffs, bluntly rejecting his offer and asks why he is picking up Serena tonight. Chris is quiet for a moment and asks how she knows about that. Sky points out that Serena is her cousin and therefore tells her everything. She then sarcastically mentions to Chris how good he has been to her and wonders out loud how she will repay him. He asks Sky to tells Serena that he called and hangs up.
Serena then walks in and thanks her for going through her stuff. Boyd tells Sky that he will catch up with her later, leaving her and Serena alone. Sky's eyes bulge and she exclaims 'Your going to stay at his place?!' Serena shrugs and asks her what the big deal is. Sky then comments that Chris doesn't know about her being fifteen, but Serena acknowledges that she is more mature than her age is, and he appreciates her for her looks and her personality. Sky rolls her eyes and casually adds the see through top he got for her. Serena picks up her bag and admits that it is good to have a boyfriend that can buy stuff for her. She heads to the door and Sky calls out after her that she will tell Lil and David if she leaves and Serena turns around. She smiles sweetly, reminding Sky that she wouldn't tattle on her- after all they are like sisters. Serena leaves Sky looking worried.
At the pub there is a post-wedding bash and Harold congratulates Lou saying that he is proud that he could grasp onto happiness. Lou thanks him and he takes a photo. Rocco then comes over with Carmella and congratulates Lou on the wedding today but he will have to go due to some business that needs to be attended to. He asks Lou to watch Carmella and Lou agrees. Harold then takes a photo of Connor and Carmella grinning. Connor looks embarrassed.
Trixie comments to Karl that there are heaps of photos being taken. She casually asks about Susan, which he replies she went to Adelaide alone because ha has a patient to look after. Trixie just answers 'oh' and Karl excuses himself.
Lou apologizes to Trixie for what Valda said, and admits it was a bad idea to invite her. She smiles and insists that it is water off a ducks back and Harold pipes up that he's run out of film and he needs some fresh air. Lou tells him to hurry back.
Karl asks Izzy for a quick word and comments that she is avoiding him. She looks around nervously and declares that they need to cool off their relationship. Karl looks confused and asks what relationship is she talking about. She admits that things have got uncomfortable between them and they should stop socializing. Karl reminds her that it was a few drinks together, nothing drastic- and after all he is a married man. Izzy tells Karl that it's obvious that him and Susan are having problems and she didn't mean to cause it. Karl looks bewildered and states 'you think I would waste almost 30 years of marriage by taking advice given to me by a brief acquaintance. He assures her that the problem involves only him and Susan and had nothing to do with Izzy. He asks her whether she could meet his eye now and she looks up and him smiling.
Chris is waiting in his car and Serena apologizes for being late, because Sky was giving her a hard time. Chris wraps his arm around her and says as long as she is there. He comments that Sky doesn't know the chemistry they have, after all it's magic. Chris assures her that this will be the greatest night of her life and Serena grins.
Connor is in Lou's office sorting his faxes when Carmella corners him. Connor points out that he is sorting the congratulations notes for Lou and Trixie, and he reads a poem on one of them to Carmella. She asks whether he believes in true love and when he says he does she leans forward. Connor takes a few steps back telling her how much he likes her and he can't go on pretending he doesn't. When she inquires about what he thinks about Rocco he admits that he would kill him for liking Carmella; however Connor looks at her and insists that at the moment he doesn't care. Connor and Carmella passionately kiss.
Harold gets out of his car and rubs his forehead. He gets the film from the back of the car and suddenly he freezes. The film falls to the ground as Harold grasps onto the car and then collapses.
