Jonathan promoting Stu about 'Life Mechanics' when Stu's car broke down.
Harold telling Izzy that his son David and his family are coming to Erinsborough indefinitely.
Harold is on the phone to David saying that both he and Sky are looking forward to his visit and that they will see him next week. Once Harold gets off the phone he asks Sky to tidy up her room to make room for Serena. Sky looks excited and exclaims that she can share her Erinsborough uniform with Serena, and the fact that she will be in her classes and everything! Harold looks a little bit uncomfortable, and confesses that Serena will be going to a private school. She looks a little bit upset, however rolls her eyes and says 'of course they want to spend more money on Serena.' Harold forces a smile, and Sky gives him a strange look and tells him that he strains his smile when he talks about David. Harold looks flustered, and assures her that he doesn't.
Taj and Stuart are playing 'bean bag soccer', while Connor and Toadie try not to pay any attention. Taj gloats as Stu drops the ball, but Connor quickly stops him, saying that the one thing more annoying that watching them play is to listen to them fight about it. Stu looks at him, and Connor looks at his feet before apologizing again about messing up the 'hippie' thing. Stu waves his apology aside and says that they take choices which lead them down different paths is all. Toadie jokes that the remark sounds like something out of that hippie camp. Stu asks them to come to the life mechanics seminar, but Toadie and Connor flatly refuse. Stu gives Taj a pleading look, and he sighs and gives in. Stu thanks him.
Lyn is in the kitchen cooking, while Steph is holding Oscar. Lyn begs Steph not to get angry with her, but she rang her doctor about her condition. Steph shrugs half heartedly and says that she doesn't mind. Lyn gives Steph a comforting smile, and reminds her that the family is here to help- but she has to let them in. She then asks Steph if she is worried about her hair falling out- and assures her not because the salon can make a wig, which looks just like her natural hair. Steph once again shrugs, and there is a bit of an awkward silence afterwards. Lyn then suggest that her, Steph and Oscar go on a picnic by the lake. She smiles and says that it sounds nice. Lyn tells her to get ready while she makes some sandwiches. Once Steph leaves the room, Lyn rings Joe and asks if he can ring her mobile in half an hour.
Boyd and Sky walk into the coffee shop, Boyd wearing Harold's shirt. Sky reminds him that he threw it out, and Harold laughs and tells Boyd about the time he wore it and he won the Salvo's fundraiser playing his tuba. Boyd forces a smile and once Harold turns away, hisses to Sky that he is going to burn the shirt. Sky smiles and says that she likes it, and it looks good on him. Boyd then notices Stu having lunch with Taj, and he asks Stu if there is any work going on at the garage. Stu tells him that there are some odd jobs that need doing, and Boyd begs if he can help- because he needs to earn some extra money. Stu looks at Boyd and then agrees, and reminds him that what happened last time will not happen again. Boyd agrees and him and Sky leave the coffee shop. Stu and Taj then get back onto the subject of the seminar, and Stu promises that if it isn't any good that he will buy Taj a drink at the pub. Taj agrees.
Toadie is trying to fix a lady's toaster, and Connor is teasing him about it. Connor tells him that the old lady is a con artist and knows that Toadie hasn't got a clue what he is doing. Toadie throws down the toaster in frustration, and Connor eggs him on, telling him that he knows he just want's to kick the toaster. Toadie exclaims that he she bullied him into it, and doesn't know how to say no. Connor laughs and suggests that Toadie goes to Stu's 'guru' camp. Toadie rolls his eyes and reminds Connor that the only reason that he is going to the guru thing is because Kavisha wants him to. Connor shakes his head and tells him that Kavisha gave him the flick, so this time it's for real. Toadie looks bewildered.
Stu and Taj walk into the seminar and look surprised. As they look around they see just a bunch of normal people having a barbecue. Stu looks relieved and says to Taj that it doesn't look too bad. Jonathan welcomes them to the seminar and jokes about them looking shocked, and assures them that life mechanics isn't a chanting cult. It's just a bunch of people getting together and sharing life experiences. Stu jokes that he was looking forward to talking in tongues. Jonathan laughs and apologizes for disappointing him. When he leaves, Stu asks Taj what he thinks. Taj smiles and admits that he is going to help himself to a sausage.
Steph is looking at Oscar and his crib, and Lyn asks what she is thinking about. Steph smiles and admits that looking at Oscar, she realizes how wonderful nature is. She then laughs and tells her mother that the doctor told her that after diagnosis, patients get all caught up in nature but thought that she would be excused. The phone then rings, and Lyn answers it. She gets off quickly and then tells Steph that Joe need someone to help with the deliveries so she needs to go help him. Steph offers to do it, but Lyn insists that she stay home and mind Oscar. Lyn then smiles and tells her that the sooner she goes, the sooner she gets back and leaves her holding Oscar. Steph looks down on him and smiles, whispering softly that it is only just him and her.
Jonathan is giving a speech about life mechanics and what it is all about. He then admits that it is great to see so many here, and jokes about people thinking it is a cult when it's really just ordinary people. He then thanks everyone for coming, and people begin to leave. Jonathan then asks Taj and Stu what they thought. They tell him that it isn't what they expected, but enjoyed it anyway. He smiles and asks them where the nearest pub is and offers them a shout.
Steph is bonding with Oscar promising him that she will teach him how to ride a motorcycle. She then smiles and tells him Lyn wouldn't be too happy, but they'll persuade them. Lyn then smiles at the scene she comes home too and calls out to Steph 'you look comfy.' Steph smiles and says that Oscar is an angel, and makes you appreciate the gifts of life. Lyn puts an arm around her and tells her that when you are around newborns your natural instincts kick in, and it is important to pay attention to them. Steph looks thoughtful and then asks Lyn if they can postpone the picnic, because there is something she needs to take care of. Steph closes the door behind her, and Lyn grins at Oscar and whispers 'I think you just worked your magic my beautiful baby boy.'
Jonathon is telling Taj and Stuart about why he started life mechanics when Stu's mobile rings. He answers to find Steph calling wanting to meet him at the garage in five minutes. She assures him it is important, and Stu excuses himself saying that he will be back shortly.
Steph tells Stu about her being diagnosed with cancer, and Stu is shocked. She apologizes for quitting on him, and admitted that she felt she needed to deal with it on her own; but then realizing that she was hurting people she cared about. Stu assures her that it is ok, and the main thing is that she is ok. He asks her if the operation worked, and she replies that they need to monitor her and she has to undergo chemotherapy. Steph then asks if she can have her apprenticeship back part time, and understands if Stu rejects the offer. Stu looks delighted and tells her that there is a ton of work to do around here and that part time will be helping him out, as long as she takes it easy. Steph agrees, but on the condition that he doesn't tell anyone, especially Max. Stu interrupts, but eventually gives in.. Stu smiles and says that he missed her round the garage, and she hugs him. Little do they know that Boyd and Sky are watching. Sky hoots and says softly that they should get a room, while Boyd looks livid. After a few seconds Boyd tells Sky in an icy that they better go, and Sky immediately realizes that it is serious.
Sky and Boyd enter the coffee shop and Boyd is complaining loudly about Steph. He tells her that Steph has caused them trouble from the beginning and then dumps his father after all they have been through. He then suggest that she was only stringing his father along, and then turned to Stuart-after all, he has less baggage. Sky tries to calm him down, but Boyd keeps going. He then points out that is why Steph quit the garage- after all she couldn't keep working with her new boyfriend. Harold glances over at Boyd who is glaring out the window.
Toadie gets a paycheck in the mail from Rocco, and is shocked to find it is worth $3000, as he only wrote a few letters for his clients. Connor looks worried and tells him that Rocco is only trying to shush him. Stu then comes home, and they ask him about the cult. Toadie insists that Taj was quite about it and now they want to hear the real story. Stu says that it was a good day, and Taj backs him up. Stu then asks them if they are going to sign up, and Taj just shrugs and says maybe. Connor looks like both of them have gone mad, and Toadie asks them how much money are they going to waste. Stu looks smug and tells them it is free, and he says to Toadie to shove that up his 'yoo hoo.'
Sky and Boyd are watching a beach movie. Sky is teasing the surfer chicks about their appearance and laughs about how fake the movie is. Boyd isn't really paying attention, and answers the doorbell as it rings. He opens the door to find Stu and doesn't look very impressed. Stu tells him that Steph's taken back her apprenticeship, so there is no more work available. Boyd glares at him and tells him that he doesn't care and can stick his job. He then slams the door in his face, leaving a bewildered Stu on the doorstep.
Steph is playing with Oscar, and tells Lyn that Oscar just laughed. Lyn smiles and tells her that baby's don't laugh at this age. She insists that he did, and promises to show Lyn as soon as he wakes up. Lyn then tells Steph that she found this site on the Internet about women who underwent chemotherapy, and found that it made them infertile, and spent the rest of their lives wishing that they harvested their eggs. Lyn begs her to think about it, and Steph clicks, asking her mother whether Joe really needed her. When Lyn refuses to give an answer Steph just laughs and says that was pretty sneaky. Lyn asks her again, and Steph promises that she will think about it- on the condition that she stops tricking her.
Boyd walks down the street and spots Steph's motorcycle. He looks around to see if anyone is watching and grabs a pole from the Scully's trailer. He checks again to see if the coast is clear, then smashes the bike headlight.
