Recap
Lori suggests a double date to Taj.
Ben says 'dada'.
Taj and Lori decide to keep the double date a secret.
Alex organises a date with Steph. They make wild suggestions and he tells her to wait and see. He confides in Max that it's hard to top diving with sharks and scoffs at Max's 'mid-80s' suggestions.
Jack is reluctant to meet Lori but gives in.
Nina wonders what the secret meeting is but Taj won't tell her.
Libby and Susan pick Ben up from the surgery, where Karl has minded him. After Libby leaves, they discuss Ben calling Stuart 'dad'. Karl wants to ignore it, but Susan tells him Libby said she had a 'moment' with Stuart. They discuss the situation, as Stuart is just waiting to marry Flick and Susan comments that all they can do is be there to help her if she falls in a heap.
Jack and Nina are waiting in the coffee shop but not talking, when Gladys comes in selling roses. She insists they should be a couple because of the chemistry between them.. They just glare and deny and Jack shows her his partner Lori when they arrive, but she's moved to another table by then.
Steph's at the garage asking Stuart why they didn't go ahead with the comp. He asks if she's spoken much to Libby recently and wonders why she doesn't want him picking up Ben any more. Steph points out that it's probably just as well to put space between them as when Flick comes back, things will change and he agrees.
Just as she leaves he cuts his hand but tells her it's nothing.
Nina's telling Taj a picnic alone with him is just what she needed when Jack and Lori arrive and tell them it was a plan to break the tension. They all drink 'to us'
Stuart has consulted Karl about the cut hand. At first when Stuart broaches the subject of 'dada', Karl plays innocent, but then lets on that he and Susan had discussed it, so has to comment. He goes on to talk about Flick and ask Stuart if he's still keen. Stuart replies 'Yes, she's the one', but doesn't look convinced.
Alex is talking to Max about a night skydiving date he's organised, but Max points out he's rostered on for that night. Alex tells Steph when she arrives and when she appeals to him to change it, he agrees to do the shift himself.
Nina asks Jack why he's glaring at her. It's because he wants to make it less obvious as they're being watched. They exchange curt words when she says she wishes she'd never met him.
Max talls Alex and Steph that he can't cover the shift that night as Summer's sleep-over has been cancelled and he has to look after her. Alex talks about being 'grown-up' himself one day, so Max 'shuffles off'. Steph looks pensive.
Libby and Susan talk about the Principal's way of treating the teachers like children and make fun of her dress sense. Stuart arrives wanting to talk to Libby privately.
Stuart asks Libby if he's said or done something wrong. He says he doesn't want her gratitude. She eventually says he's done too much and Ben needs consistency. When Flick comes back, he doesn't know where he'll end up. He feels there's something else, so she says they need to back off a bit. When she says, 'It's not you, it's me', he leaves saying he's the only guy he knows who can get that from a girl he's not dating.
Jack, Lori, Taj, Nina arrive for the rehearsal before Harold has arrived. Nina thinks jack's using Lori to make her jealous. They talk about whether they hate one another and seem about to kiss when Lori comes back in to give Jack his wallet. She assumes they've been rehearsing some new lines for the play and they sit in silence again once she's gone.
Alex has closed up and he and Steph fool around.
Libby's making a nightcap. When Karl looks really stiff, Susan teases him about his age and lack of fitness necessary to play football. He shows her his 'washboard' stomach and challenges Susan to punch it. He doubles up in pain as Susan pats his head affectionately.
Max comes into the pub and hears giggling from the office. He investigates, only to find Alex and Steph apparently getting very close in there.
