Drew and Libby's place
Maggie comes off the phone and confirms to Drew and Libby that the Chronicle have done their homework and whereas they registered Demo's name in Victoria, they did so nationally and therefore have the right to use the name for their magazine. She apologises for getting them into this situation and Drew asks what they can do. Maggie tells them not to use the name or the Chronicle will sue and Libby adds that she wouldn't give them that satisfaction.
No. 26
Joe is surprised to see Steph sitting on the sofa when he comes in, so she explains that she has an IDO. He gets a bit suspicious when Steph mentions Mitch's name though but she doesn't answer his question when he asks if they just good friends or good mates before heading into the shower.
The Coffee Shop
Darcy and Karl bemoan the applicants for the receptionist as they have their cuppa since none of them made the grade. Darcy suggests, with Karl agreeing, that if the temp they are due to get is half-decent then the position should be given to them.
At the counter, Harold wants some info on a company called Reinhart and Toadie's ears immediately prick up. Harold shows him the anonymous letter he received and Toadie plays dumb over how it may have been delivered. Harold says that he doesn't trust anonymous letters but Toadie suggests making an exception for this one, so Harold quickly dashes off to make a call.
Surgery
Karl tells Joe he needs to see an optician before he can drive again. As he leaves, the temp (Serena) arrives and everyone introduces themselves. The two doctors seem to have taken a shine to the new receptionist.
Lou's Place
Lou is having an angry conversation trying to locate the chimney for the cubby house he was constructing earlier but is getting nowhere. Joe arrives and offers to build a chimney for him before asking Lou what he knows about the trucking company he has been doing some driving for. Lou replies not much and is stunned to find out that the truck wasn't insured but suggests that he have a chat with Mitch instead. Joe says Mitch is part of the problem as he feels that Mitch threatened him to keep his mouth shut, which again surprises Lou. Joe then tells him that Steph is getting close to him too, but adds that he isn't pulling the concerned dad routine. Lou suggests that Joe has a chat to Steph about it all before it is too late.
Drew and Libby's place
Lib and Drew are trying to come up with a new name for the mag and finally come up with 'New Voice' and then they weigh up the options. They both rule out shredding them and Libby suggests reprinting the covers but Drew suggests the Blue Peter method - putting a sticker over the current name. Lib says that will look amateur and instead suggests they get some of the money back from Scotty early since he is due to pay soon anyway but Drew doesn't want to ask.
No. 22 backyard
Maggie and Emily come round to see and try out the cubby house as Joe is building the chimney. Emily heads off to play inside and gives it her seal of approval and doesn't want to come out! Maggie asks when Lolly is back and Lou replies tomorrow. He asks her about her exams and Maggie sadly says she may need to repeat a year before adding that she feels like chucking it all in and becoming a mum.
Surgery
Serena seems to be doing a fine job and is impressing the doctors by her efficiency. She even knocks back Darcy's come-on saying she prefers older men...which leaves Karl looking shocked!
The Coffee Shop
Joe spots Toadie sitting down and enquires about how Tad is. They talk about the anonymous letter and Joe thinks it is a load of rubbish but like with Harold, Toadie hints that it isn't. Joe tells him that if the insurance company goes down then he's right in it since every house he's built is insured by them. Toadie finally confesses that he wrote the letter and that the company is in trouble and tells him to seek alternative cover urgently. Joe questions where Toadie got the info from and he says that he hears things at the law firm.
Surgery
Darcy and Karl weigh up Serena and decide to offer her a 3-month contract.
The Coffee Shop
Joe tells Toadie that Reinhart insure a lot of other businesses and again asks if his info is 100% correct. Toadie replies by saying he's putting his job on the line, so Joe says he's off home but Toadie tells him not to tell any of his other building mates.
Harold meets with a Peter Holloway from the council and thinks it is to do with the name change for Ramsay Street but is shocked to find out he's from health and hygiene to inspect the business. Harold wonders if there has been a complaint as they head off into the kitchen.
No. 26
Joe is on the phone to Reinhart trying to get a refund but can't because their computers are down. When he comes off, he tells Steph that something is starting to smell bad.
Drew and Libby's place
Drew and Lib are re-labelling the magazine with the new name but Libby thinks they look cheap and unprofessional and will have to get the cover reprinted. Drew again says they don't have the cash, so Libby suggests they get a cash advance on their credit card to pay for it.
No. 24
Harold is telling Lou that he passed the health inspection with flying colours but Lou isn't paying attention as he is still worrying about the cubby house and if Lolly will like it.
Surgery
Darcy asks Serena how her first day went, fine, before asking her out for a drink. He is stunned when she turns him down and heads out of the surgery. While Karl is getting ready to go home in his office, Serena says out loud that she's just missed her bus and will have to wait until the next one, so Karl does the gentlemanly thing and offers her a lift. Serena joins him in the office to accept his offer and to suggest they have a drink on route too because she knows a really nice bar! Karl looks stunned at this.
