Recap
Susan is upset that her own school council was willing to throw her out over nothing. She is considering retirement.
Lou rings a private detective and tells him to find out all he can about John and Sandy Allen.
Hancocks
Evan is taking out the rubbish and runs into Flick on her way in. She's come to see Matt but he's not in. Flick admires Emily's drawings. Emily is drawing a dog and is sure they'll have a dog one day. Leo says they'll have the money once his car is sold, but Maggie says they mustn't bank on it selling.
EMILY:(to Flick) Are you Matt's girlfriend?
She goes on to ask Flick if she loves Matt because Matt loves her(!) but Flick says she and Matt are just friends.
Kennedys
Karl is peeling onions wearing swimming googles(!). He tells Susan that she needs something to go to before she retires, like writing a book or doing research. But Susan says she wants time out, and if she gets bored she'll get a job - any job that doesn't involve Education Department politics! Karl suggests jokingly that she could be the receptionist for a cosmetic surgeon he knows(!) Susan say it would be great! Karl gets a bit worried and starts trying to put her off!
Hancocks
Emily is still drawing and her pictures are covering the whole kitchen! Evan and Leo are still at odds. Maggie finds a plate that she hasn't taken back to Susan yet. She tells Evan he can take the plate back and make up with Susan at the same time. He isn't keen though.
Bishops
Harold thinks that Lou shouldn't stoop to the Allen's level by getting a private detective. He urges caution, but Lou just wants to get Lolly back. Harold doesn't think it's right though.
Leo comes round to ask Lou how to sell a car. Lou invites him in.
Hancocks
Emily is still drawing but Maggie sends her off to bed so she can have a chat with Lyn. She tells Lyn that she hasn't got a chance to read with all that's going on with the family. Lyn says she's got time on her hands for the first time ever and she's at a loose end! Maggie offers to lend Lyn some books. Maggie is nervous about getting her exam results tomorrow. Then she starts taking some of Emily's pictures down (they are covering all the walls and the door!)
Coffee Shop
Evan tells Karl that he wants to sort things out with Susan. Karl says it won't be necessary - Susan has decided not to reapply for her job. Evan protests that it's a terrible waste - Susan is a born teacher. Karl says she's miserable with all the politics so she's going elsewhere. Evan is shocked.
Hancocks
Leo complains that he's bored. Maggie asks him to make up with Evan, who is doing his best. She suggests that he and Evan work on selling the car together.
When Leo has been sent to hang out the washing, Maggie goes to put Emily's drawings in the bin. But Emily comes in and catches her.
Hancocks, the following morning
Maggie is putting Emily's drawings back up(!) Emily wants to know why Maggie put her pictures in the bin and Maggie says she was just storing them there!
Leo and Evan and talking about selling the car. Leo has got some tips from Lou which will help. (Well, let's hope so anyway!)
Coffee Shop
Darcy comes in and sees Susan and Karl at a table. He asks Karl to come in to the surgery later. Karl agrees. When Darcy has gone, Karl says he's decided not to bear a grudge.
Evan comes in.
EVAN: Karl, told me about your decision not to come back to Erinsborough High.
SUSAN: Oh, did he. (glares at Karl)
Evan says it's a huge waste of Susan's talents and asks what she intends to do. He'd like her to reconsider, but Susan says that's her own business.
EVAN: Things might change.
SUSAN: (quietly, to Karl) And pigs might fly!
Kennedys
Susan is playing a game on Karl's mobile phone! He takes it off her!
Flick comes in and says she's heard that Susan is leaving and has come to tell her that all the pupils really respect her. She thinks the school would suffer without Susan's presence. Susan thanks her for her kind words. When Flick has gone, Karl tells Susan that she should change her mind. He says being a lady of leisure doesn't suit her!
Karl goes out of the door, then runs back in at top speed and switches on the CCTV camera trained on the bins. He sees someone putting stuff into his bin and runs off to apprehend him, watched by Susan on the CCTV camera!
SUSAN: Urgh! God help me.
Hancocks
Maggie and Lyn come in. Lyn suggests Maggie makes a scrapbook with Emily's pictures in but Maggie has already got six! Lyn returns Maggie's book which she's read already. She says she stayed up reading, since there's noone at home at the moment.
Maggie hasn't got her exam results yet.
Evan is on the phone to a Chris Hall, an ex-student at Erinsborough High. He asks him if he was ever taught by Susan Kennedy.
Later, outside the Hancocks
Evan and Leo are giving someone the hard sell on the car. Emily finds her pictures in the outside bin.
Hancocks
Maggie is telling Emily that she doesn't know how the pictures got there and says maybe it was the picture fairies(!) Emily is not convinced and says picture fairies don't put pictures in the bin! Maggie gets flustered and says maybe the bin was mistaken for a postbox(!)
Hospital
Darcy and Karl are helping a patient with a heart problem. Karl rings for a portable X-ray machine.
The Pub
The only thing the private detective has dug up on John Allen is one traffic infringement(!) He tells him to keep looking.
Hospital
The patient is getting worse. Karl sends for some tests. He tells Darcy to go back to the surgery, saying he doesn't need to check up on him.
Just then both the patient and a second patient become distressed.
Scullys
Lyn is reading another one of Maggie's books. Lyn tells Flick that she feels inadequate around Maggie, but Flick says there's no reason for Lyn to feel inferior to anyone. Flick tells Lyn that Emily told her that Matt loves her and she's wondering if it's true. Lyn thinks Matt is really nice, but Flick says she's not interested in men at all at the moment - any man. She says she wants to be independent.
Hospital
Karl calls Darcy back to help him with the patients. They start to do doctorly things on each patient.
