Recap

Maggie hears a squeal from outside, and realises that Em has run out the front door.
Ramsay Street
Karl is comforting Emily, as Maggie runs out from the house. Karl passes Emily over to her and explains how she just ran out from in front of the car, and it gave her a bit of a fright.
Number 32
Karl is making some tea as Maggie brings Emily through. She explains she's rushed off her feet and has to drop Emily off before going to her exam. Karl sympathises with her about burning the candle at both ends. Maggie wonders about Emily's ear troubles, and Karl explains that the grommets would be a simple operation, but at that moment Emily eats some ice-cream, which causes her to yelp, and Karl realises it's probably the cold that's affecting her ears.
Number 26
Matt thanks Steph for the lift back from Moco and asks if she'd be able to give him a reference. Steph isn't so sure, but says yes. Getting the answer he was after, Matt runs off, leaving Lyn to wonder if Steph was going to apply for the job. Steph agrees with Lyn that she's probably got the best experience out of everyone at Moco for it, but feels a bit on the outside now that all the other staff are younger guys.
Number 32
Karl asks Maggie what the ear specialist said, and she tells him that they couldn't find an infection so was stumped. Karl explains that sometimes pain in the middle ear can be caused by a tooth infection and it would be best to get Emily's teeth checked. Maggie thanks Karl, but wonders when she'd be able to get it done, as she's so busy at the moment. He offers how he can help; so she asks him for one tiny favour.
Number 28
Karl is dressed up as a cat, complete with nose, whiskers, ears and a tail. Emily chases him around the coffee table a couple of times, before stealing his tail. Evan rings and so Karl tells Emily he's taking her home. As they go out the front door, they bump into Drew. Karl asks if he'd like to go for a drink, and Drew reminds him of his ears, so Karl quickly takes them off before leaving, complete with nose and whiskers still painted on his face!
Number 30
Toadie gets of the phone and announces he has got the internship - he is in! Dee and Joel congratulate him, and Dee admits she thought he'd blown it when he called in the middle of a meeting. Toadie agrees, and Dee rushes off to work, leaving Joel and Toadie to head down the pub.
Lou's Place
Toadie and Joel arrive to a busy pub, where Maggie and many others are celebrating the end of exams. Drew and Karl arrive and Karl goes to congratulate Maggie on finishing.
KARL: You look like the cat who got the cream.
Everyone drops silent before laughing. Karl wonders what's going on, but Toadie blames exam fever! Steph and Lyn arrive and come over to join in the conversation, but Drew encourages them to keep quiet about Karl's face paints.
Toadie advises Matt to stop with the serving of alcohol after the pub closes as it's not covered by the license and Lou will get busted. Matt reluctantly agrees, but Tony comes over and wonders what they're going to do now. Seeing Tony and Matt at the bar, Steph comes over to talk Moco deliveries, but is outvoted by both of them, and looks a bit put out. Karl pops over and interrupts, placing a big order, as he disappears to find the second half, Tony and Matt wonder about the face paints.
Coffee Shop
Maggie arrives and thanks Karl for his suggestion, the dentist found a small abscess on one of Emily's back teeth, not enough to cause an infection, but enough to cause a huge amount of pain. She asks if he's got anything planned.
KARL: Ah, yes, I've got to get to my audition
MAGGIE: Audition?
KARL: Yes, the Erinsborough music society are putting on a production of Cats, the musical. You might know it, grown ups dress up as cats and prance around singing and dancing, it's very good!
He explains he found out when he got home after being at Lou's; Susan took one look at him and turned white. They realise that with the school council meeting they are now officially feuding Neighbours, though they agree to be secret allies. Maggie heads off to an exam, Karl wishes her luck. As Maggie leaves, Dee arrives, after a hectic night shift in casualty. Karl tells her she'll look back on these days with fond memories. Karl admits that he was always sharper back then, like a certain young doctor they know. Dee mentions how another doctor at the hospital is going to do volunteer work overseas, and Karl admits how he's always liked the idea, just never got around to it. He asks how she's doing, and she admits physically she's fine, but mentally and psychologically she's still not quite recovered yet.
Number 26
Steph isn't sure about if she's going to fit in with the guys at work any more, but Lyn wonders about Bev; she rose above them all. Steph jokes 'that the jury is still out on whether Bev was a woman', but agrees she was a bit more like a Margaret Thatcher around the place. As Steph heads off she mentions to Lyn that Michelle's new boyfriend Zack has made a deal that she can hang around with him after school if she keeps her distance in school.
STEPH: Men! You gotta love 'em!
Number 30 Driveway
Toadie brings Dee out of the house telling her she's got a vitamin D deficiency and is lacking in sunlight. He walks over to the flowerbed and tells her that he's been watching her fall apart slowly and silently since the miscarriage and it would be good for her to mark it in some way. He starts to plant a rose. As he does so she joins in, and begins to cry.
Number 32
Matt's on the phone, suggesting to one of the guys that they tease Steph at work and pretends that it is really a boys club. Lyn pops over and asks Matt if he knows of any reason why Steph would be upset at work. He explains they've been trying to help her feel less stressed after Woody, by taking some of the work, and asks if Lyn can get Steph to the pub that evening at ten thirty.
Number 30
Dee and Joel are doing the washing up, but Dee is looking a lot happier. She tells Joel she's cancelled her night shift as she's been working too hard, and admits she's put behind her the anger she was feeling against Darcy, and aiming at him. He realises that it's to do with something he doesn't know about, but he says he doesn't want to know and is glad that she's happy. He starts blowing bubbles from the washing up in her face, and it escalades into a mini fight, in which Dee drops a plate on the floor. They laugh and continue!
Number 28
There's a knock at the door and Karl goes to answer but no-one's there.
Lou's Place
It's dark inside and the pub is locked up as Steph knocks on the door calling out to Matt and the other Moco guys. Eventually they open the door and start chanting her name from where they are hidden in the dark. The lights come on and they all appear dressed as women, telling her there's no such thing as a 'man's club'. Matt gives her a drink and tells her to enjoy it!
Number 26
Lyn is reading a book, when there is a knock at the door. She goes to look through the peephole but doesn't see anyone. She cautiously opens the door, but still no-one is there, so she closes it again.
Number 30
There's a knock at the door, this is starting to get a bit freaky, with all the haunted music, but it appears only Bob is around as he barks. The door quickly opens and closes allowing Bob to run out!
Lou's Place
Matt and Tony tell Steph that they were only trying to help and didn't realise they were making it worse. Steph asks why they didn't tell her, but Matt tells her they may be able to dress like girls, but they don't communicate like them! Matt asks if she'd still be able to write him a reference, which she agrees to, but warns him she'll be there as competition. There's a loud knock on the door. Matt opens it to find Toadie, who warns him that they shouldn't be in the pub at this hour. Matt tries to explain that it's for Steph, but it doesn't quite work. As Toadie comes in there's another knock. Matt opens it to see a policeman. Quickly shutting the door he tells the others to get out, leaving Matt, Toadie and Steph behind.
