Toadie is randomly dancing with a mop when Libby comes in. Billy comes in and tells him Libby wants the video now or else. Toadie tries to brazen it out and says Billy will have to sort it(!)

BILLY: Louise Carpenter could have got better footage! She'd be better on a skateboard too.
TOADIE: The Toad does not appreciate being compared to a toddler!
BILLY: I'm not! I'd never put Louise down like that.
TOADIE: Ha, ha!

Billy says they'll just have to fess up that they've wiped Libby's assignment. Toadie says he's scared of Libby and Billy is on his own. Billy says that if he doesn't fess up, he'll just blame everything on Toadie and noone else(!) Toadie relents and says he might have another option.

Phil wants to get the police involved with the man who is stalking Debbie. Helen says it's probably fine as the bloke doesn't know where she lives.

Hannah marches in.

HANNAH: I hate my life.

She insists she's not getting braces, and Phil can't make her.

HANNAH: Life is too short to be ugly!
HELEN: You are not ugly, darling, you are beautiful, and you will be more so when the braces come off.

Hannah is not convinced and says she'd rather have an overbite!

PHIL: Some of the top supermodels had braces when they were your age!
HANNAH: Name one.
PHIL: Er...

He lies and says Elle McPherson! Hannah stomps off saying he's a liar (and she's right to be fair!)

Coffee Shop
Toadie's current ideas to cover the loss of the video include burning his house down with the video in it and telling Libby the video fell into a storm- water drain when Toadie was hit by a truck(!) Also that it was chewed by a guide dog belonging to a blind visitor(!)

Hannah stomps in and sits down for a sulk.

HANNAH: What do you think of braces?
TOADIE: Braces? You'd never catch me in braces. Braces are for fairies or people who are so skinny their pants keep falling down!
HANNAH: I mean braces for your teeth, you idiot.
TOADIE: Oh.
BILLY: Why, are you getting some?
HANNAH:(casually) No, a friend is. She's really worried that no guy will want to kiss her.
TOADIE: Yeah, she's right.
BILLY: Not necessarily!
TOADIE: Are you kidding?! I once had a mate who kissed a girl with braces and their lips got jammed! Then they had to go to hospital to get separated. The doctor had to cut way half the guy's top lip and now he's deformed. Do you think it's worth it? I don't think so.

Hannah looks horrified.

BILLY: You'd believe anything, wouldn't you!?
TOADIE: No, it's a true story! Seriously, Hannah, tell your friend that if she wants to kiss boys while she's got braces, she'd better have a good insurance policy.

Hannah looks worried.

Cheryl tells Helen that she can't believe she's going into business with Jo Hartman. Cheryl says it's a bit of a hollow victory as she's losing her independence. Helen reminds her that without Marlene and Jo she'd lose Chez Chez and most probably Louise, too. She admits that Helen is right.

Phil comes in and Cheryl immediately gets up to leave. She says she doesn't want to say anything front of him.

PHIL: Cheryl, I am trying to help Lou through this, but I'm not trying to take sides, I'm your friend, too.
CHERYL: Sure you are(!) See you.

She walks out.

Libby demands that Billy gets her video but just then, Toadie staggers in holding his head in a bloodied cloth. He claims to have been attacked by a burglar who has even taken Libby's video(!)

LIBBY: Nice try, Toadie. Now where is my video?!
BILLY: We...tried to overlay our own soundtrack. But we accidentally erased your pictures instead. Toadie tried to make a new one, but it...ended up just being a piece of junk, sorry.
LIBBY: You're kidding?!
STONIE: Surely you guys aren't that stupid?!
TOADIE: We are.
BILLY: Lib, I'm really, really sorry.
LIBBY:(horrified) You're serious?! I don't believe this! What am I going to do?! I've got Media Studies in a few days, if I don't had something in, I'll fail.
BILLY: Look, if there's anything we can do to help...anything at all.
LIBBY: Yeah, sure.

Libby suggests a punishment to fit the crime.

No.32 (Later)
Libby says that Billy and Toadie will have to appear in her new video as she hasn't got time to get anyone else together for filming. The video is going to be a "pathetic look at two hopeless hopefuls"(!) They are going to have to perform their soundtrack in the Mall. Billy and Toadie are horrified.

Phil has got a letter for his publisher requesting he returns the advance for the book he was working on. They don't want the book he's offered to write, instead they want "sex, sex, sex and more sex"(!) Helen suggests that Phil finds another publisher, but he confesses that he's already spent the advance(!)

Libby is telling Hannah that braces are fine and nobody is going to get their lip jammed in them(!) She tells Hannah that she used to have braces herself and they were fine. If Hannah decides the braces don't bother her, most likely they won't bother anyone else either.

Stonie arrives and he and Libby are about to head off to the Mall.

HANNAH: Stonie, would you kiss a girl with braces?
STONIE: Oh, yeah...I've heard the wires pick up radio signals, you can listen to music while you pash(!)

Hannah doesn't know what to think!

Chez Chez
Jo comes in, a few hours late for her meeting with Cheryl. Cheryl is not pleased and hopes that Jo is going to be a reliable partner. She shows Cheryl a new ring that Rob got her. Cheryl asks what Rob thought about the Chez Chez books, but she and Rob didn't get round to looking at them last night. They'll have a look at them today though. Cheryl wants to get the details sorted ASAP.

The Mall
BILLY: Can't we come back later when the lunchtime rush is over?!
LIBBY: No way, I want as many peopel as possible to hear your pathetic excuse for music!

Billy and Toadie get their violin and bongos out and start playing. Libby films them and laugh. A crowd spontaneously gathers.

Coffee Shop
Hannah is sitting with Casper and she is picking fights with him. Eventually she tells him about the braces. She says he should just dump her now and then heads off.

The Mall
The Mall manager comes over and gives Billy and Toadie $10 to stop playing and $20 if they'll pack up and go!

A security guy comes over and moves them on, saying he'll let them off with a warning, but only this time.

Libby, Stonie, Billy and Toadie are looking at the footage from the Mall. Apparently Toadie's bum crack is on it accidentally(!) Libby finally tells them that she's not giving the video in for her assignment - she was just having a laugh. Turns out she had a master copy of the skateboarding video all along!

Billy and Toadie pick her up, throw her on the sofa and pummel her with cushions!

Casper has come to see Hannah. She is still in a strop with him and reminds him about the girl on the cover of the magazine. He says he doesn't care if she has braces.

HANNAH: You won't think I'll be ugly?
CASPER: Who said you were so good looking now anyway?! It might be an improvement!

He goes on to tell her that he likes her, and nothing's going to change that.

Chez Chez
Jo and Rob have now been through the books and Rob is broadly happy with them. However, he's not sure he wants to invest at this point in time as he has so many other deals on the go. Cheryl says it'll be fine as Rob can be a silent partner - she'll run the show. She says she and Jo will go and talk to Rob together.

Phil is worried about money. He tells Hannah that she doesn't have to have braces immediately, she can have them in a few months instead. To his surprise, she says she's ready to have them now!

PHIL: But last night...
HANNAH: The sooner I get them on, the sooner I get them off. Besides, Casper reckons I'll look really cute.

Phil is bemused.
