Recap
- Lance asking Hannah out.
- Karl scaring Brett about the injections he needs for his trip to Africa!
- Caroline turning up at the coffee shop and yelling at Cody that Adrian is with *her*.
No. 28
Brett and Susan both have thermometers in their mouths. Karl checks them. Susan takes her out and sighs that she feels fine: she felt a little bit nauseous before, but she's fine. Karl offers to get some lemonade from the shops to help settle her stomach. Susan willingly agrees, to get rid of him! When he's gone, Susan remarks to Brett that she doesn't know how Karl is going to relax when she's away. She then asks how Danni is about *him* going. Brett laughs that she can't wait until gets back - with all the presents!
Holy Roll
Cody is tipping sugar absentmindedly into a cup of coffee when Karl comes in with Billy, who's groaning that he's spent all day helping unblock somebody's toilet. Karl grins that he's sure Sam appreciates it! Billy appeals to his father to buy him a burger, but Karl tells Billy to get himself home and make dinner, as Susan isn't feeling her best. Billy walks out, despondently. Karl then sits down with Cody and asks her if she knows where Mark is. She doesn't respond. Karl looks at the second cup of coffee on the table and asks if there's someone with her there. Cody just sighs and asks how many times you should give somebody a second chance. Karl tells her that that depends on what they did and how much you feel for them.
No. 26
Hannah and Lance arrive home, Hannah holding a pink toy giraffe and saying she still feels like she's spinning. Lance tells her that he doesn't know anyone else who's been on the Gravitron five times in a row! They sit down but Lance then asks where the bathroom is. Hannah points it out and he runs off. There's suddenly a knock on the front door and Hannah opens it to Billy, who steps inside. Hannah, however, tells him in an urgent tone that he has to go: she has a visitor in the bathroom. Billy asks if it's Miranda. At that moment, Lance emerges from the bathroom and Billy says hi to him. Hannah pushes Billy out through the door!
No. 28
Brett and Susan are sitting at the dining table, looking at books about Africa, when Mal and Libby come in, with Billy in tow. Susan asks Libby how she went. Libby smiles that it's really hard, but she did manage to surf once. Mal laughs:
MAL: Yeah - when the board was on the beach!
Libby ignores this and tells her mother that she's going back to the beach tomorrow with Manuela; at least then she can try on a *proper* board! Karl comes in and apologises for being late. He hands Susan and Brett bottles of lemonade, apologising for them being a bit warm. Susan asks him where he's been and he explains that he bumped into Cody and then went to see Tamsin to see if their ampoules had arrived, and they have. He asks Brett if he's ready for his next injections. Brett asks nervously if there are more. Karl stares at him and smiles maliciously:
KARL: Oh Brett, the fun has only just begun...!
No. 30
It's evening- time and Cody is about to head out. She opens the front door and finds Adrian standing on the step. She glares at him and he asks if he's allowed in. Cody reluctantly lets him through. They head into the kitchen where Adrian tells her that he thought things with Caroline were all sorted out. Cody snaps at him that all she wants to know is the truth. Adrian insists:
ADRIAN: The truth is... the truth is that I love you, Cody. I do. Caroline, she needs more help than I thought she needed. I mean, she needs *psychological* help.
Cody asks what's happening. Adrian tells her that Caroline is trying to break them up, and he asks her if that's what she wants. Cody murmurs that she doesn't. Adrian goes on that he hates the way Caroline is trying to ruin their lives, but he can't just turn his back and leave her; he's really scared what she might try and do to herself. Cody snaps suddenly:
CODY: Why do I feel like I'm conned here?
Adrian tells her that that's exactly what Caroline *wants* her to feel. He asks her who she's going to believe: Caroline or *him*.
No. 28
Karl has made dinner, but no one likes the look of the chicken livers a la Kennedy! Mal takes the opportunity to ask his father if Angie gave him back his bond money. Karl asks what that's got to do with surfing. Libby explains that Mal wants a new surfboard. Susan chips in that now that Mal has moved back home, he can pay for his own surfboard now that his expenses have been reduced! The 'phone suddenly starts ringing and Mal answers it. It's Melissa and Billy runs to grab the 'phone from him. He disappears into his room, leaving Mal to take the opportunity to tip some of his chicken livers onto Billy's plate!
No. 22
Danni - wearing a facepack and robe - comes downstairs and asks Brett when he's going to get all his books out of her room. Brett reminds her that he's been away studying. Danni then tells him that some girl from the excursion rang just before she got in the shower. Brett asks eagerly if it was Samantha. Danni shrugs that she doesn't know. She tells him the girl left a number which she wrote on her hand. Brett grabs her hand and looks at it - post Danni's shower, so the number has disappeared. Brett leans over and bangs his head on the coffee table in frustration!
No. 26
The next morning, Hannah is making some breakfast as she asks Cody how her new boyfriend is. Cody muses that it's a bit complicated at the moment. She then asks Hannah if *she's* got a boyfriend. A sheepish look crosses Hannah's face and she beams that Lance is an absolute babe. Cody asks if they've pashed yet! Hannah, however gapes at her in embarrassment! She's saved by a knock on the front door and Cody runs to answer it. She opens it to Lance and escorts him through to the kitchen. She then leaves him and Hannah to it!
Ramsay Street
Billy is walking Casserole along Ramsay Street, muttering at her not to give him any trouble. Lance and Hannah suddenly emerge from No. 26 and Billy groans. Lance asks Billy why he's walking the sheep like a dog and Hannah giggles:
HANNAH: Because he likes to!
Lance grins at Billy and tells him to have fun!
No. 22
Brett opens the front door of No. 22 to find Samantha standing on the step! He looks astonished to see her. She asks him if he didn't get her message, as she was waiting for him at the coffee shop, and Brett explains in a tongue- tied way about how Danni washed it off in the shower. He then smiles that he's glad she came round as he had no way of contacting her. Sam says she supposes he wants to hear the good news: she took his advice about Spencer - she's been thinking about their relationship and has realised he's wrong for her. Brett asks if she's dumped him. Sam replies that it was mutual. She goes on that she needs someone she can actually talk to - and Brett has been great to her. Brett, smiling in delight and taking Sam's words as a sign, leans in to kiss her. Sam, however, pulls away and asks him to let her finish. She explains that she should have told him from the start, but she's going out with Zac now. Brett exclaims in shock:
BRETT: That basketballer from the camp?
Sam tells Brett that she loves him heaps; she thinks of him as one of her best friends. Brett murmurs flatly:
BRETT: Sure. Friends.
No. 28
Susan and Karl are looking through the front window when they spot someone approaching and dash over to the sofa. Mal comes in to find the two of them lying back, looking weary. Susan explains that she feels awful: it's the injections; she just feels so spacy. She adds that if she starts to hallucinate, he mustn't panic. Mal asks what's wrong with his father, then. Karl tells him that he's had the most exhausting day in history. Mal smiles that *he's* having a *top* day! Susan asks Mal if he can help her by doing the ironing. Mal shrugs that he will, but he's no good at it. He walks over to the ironing board and lifts up the iron and washing basket on top - and finds a new surfboard lying underneath! He beams at his parents in delight that it's unbelievable!
Outside the Holy Roll
Brett is sitting with Billy and Casserole, sighing that it was all working out perfectly and then Samantha told him that she's going out with Zac. Billy nods that these holidays can't get much worse: Toadie was down, and he'd finally got a girlfriend... but she's gone away now, Toadie got them arrested and he's Handy Sam's slave most of the time. Brett muses:
BRETT: Yeah... and we're sitting here having a milkshake with a sheep!
BILLY (sighs): Yeah. Can it get much worse?
At that moment, Casserole lets out a baa and goes to run off. She's tethered to the table, which collapses, causing Brett and Billy's milkshakes to go flying! Hannah and Lance are sitting at another table and burst out laughing!
No. 30
Adrian gives Cody a piggyback into the kitchen and sits her down on the worktop. He then asks for a coffee and Cody goes to start making it as Adrian tries to kiss and cuddle her. Cody changes the mood, though, by asking how Caroline is. Adrian sighs that she's taking a bit of work. He goes on that he's been discussing her with a friend of his - a Psychiatric Registrar - but trying to get her to see she needs help is the tricky part. Cody suggests to him that he lie to Caroline and tell her that he's not seeing *her* anymore. Adrian, however, says he doesn't like lying to her. Cody then suggests that she see Caroline and tell her that they aren't together. Adrian asks her if she's sure she wants to do that. Cody smiles at him.
No. 28
A guy in his late- teens or early- 20s is standing next to a kid in his early teens. Karl says to the kid:
KARL: Let me get this straight: you're Randy.
The older guy nods that that's right. Karl goes on:
KARL: And you've been conversing with my daughter in New York.
'RANDY': Yeah.
OLDER GUY: I only found out the other day.
KARL (to 'Randy'): And you paid our internet expenses.
'RANDY' (pointing to the older guy): No, *he* did.
OLDER GUY (pointedly): And he's going to spend a lifetime paying me back.
At that moment, Libby comes in and Karl tells her that there's somebody there to see her: her internet friend. Libby stares at the older guy and then asks him why he pretended to be somebody else. She goes on that he could have sent a photo of himself; plus she thought he was in New York. The guy, however, explains that the two of them are from Anson's Corner; and the kid isn't actually Randy. He then introduces himself as Sonny Hammond and explains that it was his little brother, Digby, who's been tricking her. Libby glares at Digby and growls:
LIBBY: You're the one I've been telling everything to? How embarrassing.
Karl pats her on the arm in mock sympathy!
Ramsay Street
Hannah and Lance emerge from No. 26, talking about school starting again next week. Hannah comments to Lance that she doesn't know if she fits in with his group at school - those girls. Lance, however, assures her that they'll work something out. He then invites her to go blading tomorrow and Hannah accepts. There's some awkwardness as neither of them knows how to say goodbye. Lance suddenly leans towards Hannah and kisses her. Hannah kisses him back. When he walks off, Hannah watches him go, grinning ecstatically!
