CHERYL: Trust me Louis, I'll knock your socks off!
LOU: That's what I'm afraid of(!)

Cody is looking for her swimming costume on the settee for some reason(!) and Doug tells her to look in the bathroom where she left them.
She excitedly tells him about the swimming with seals and Cody suggests Doug comes too (as Michael has been a bit pushy lately). She does like him, but doesn't like the pushiness.
Car Yard
Lou is protesting the new decor in the office.
LOU: I know what I like, and this is not it(!)
Cheryl breezily carries on anyway! Lou says he'll see her at the antenatal class later.

Gaby comes in with Sally's niece - a baby called Milly. She is looking after her today. Cody and Pam fuss over her and Milly is looking a generally a bit bemused.
Pam mentions the birthing support person role and an awkward silence descends.
PAM: What?
CODY: You're going to have to tell her!
GABY:(awkwardly) I asked Cody to be my birth support partner.
PAM: Ah...
GABY: You don't mind, do you?
PAM:(strained) No, no. Of course not. I just thought, you know, with my experience...but I mean no, no, no, whatever you like.
CODY: We could *both* do it? That'd be OK wouldn't it?
GABY: That's not such a bad idea, actually! Please?
PAM: Well...I suppose so, if you really want me to...
She finally smiles and all is well. Pam takes Milly and fusses her.
No.26
Phil is excited about his and Michael's day out and is filming him pouring orange juice(!) Phil is surprised to hear that Cody is coming, but agrees.
No.28
Milly is crying and Gaby is wondering how she can get to her antenatal class with her like this (and Pam and Cody are going too). Doug says he'll look after the baby and they are all doubtful (how rude!) Doug insists he's changed tonnes of nappies in his time and will be fine!
PAM: We don't have any choice.
DOUG: Oh, thanks a lot(!)
Doug goes to get Milly, and she quickly calms down.
GABY: That's incredible!
DOUG: You've either got it or you haven't!
Doug insists that he has years of experience and has always been good with kids.
CODY:(to Pam) Is that true?
PAM: No, but that's the way he likes to remember it(!)
They all depart, leaving Doug with Milly.
Ante- natal class
Cheryl and Gaby are being massaged by Lou and Pam/Cody respectively. They then swap partners and massage the other so they know how it feels(!)
Lou and Cheryl are bickering a bit about the car yard.
LOU: What have you done?
CHERYL: Just a bit of an Egyptian effect, very grandiose.
LOU: WHAT?!
CHERYL: It's a joke, Lou, where's your sense of humour?
LOU: Oh, Cheryl, don't do that to me. I almost broke my water(!)
No.28
Doug and Milly are having a grand time, although the house is completely trashed! Cody, Pam and Gaby get back from the class. Doug asks if there's another spot on Gaby's birthing team.
PAM: The more, the merrier!
Cody and Doug head off to the seal swimming.
No.26
Lou has been debriefing Phil about the ante- natal class(!) On the way out, Cody and Doug come in. Phil's surprised to see Doug has joined them and Phil looks a bit awkward. Doug hadn't realised that Phil was coming too and he looks awkward, too.
Pontoon
Phil is sniping at Doug for encroaching on his day out with Michael. Michael is looking nervous and the the boat skipper comments that they all look miserable!
Car Yard
Cheryl reveals her new office design to Lou, and to his surprise it's very tasteful and practical. Brett tells him that he's sold a car - the one Lou has had around for months!
Lou turns to Cheryl and says since everything going so well, they need to talk about marriage again! But she's not keen.
Boat
A seal montage is in progress that they are apparently viewing through a porthole on the small fishing boat (definitely not an aquarium or submarine)
Back on deck, it's apparently too rough to get in the water. Doug tries to smooth things over with Phil, saying he hadn't realised it was a father- son day.
The skipper says that it's too rough to go in the sea here. Doug suggests that they could just muck around in the water back at the pier instead, film it, and make the best of things. Phil finally smiles and agrees, making up with Doug.
No.24
Brett is still excited about selling a car today and asks if he can have a commission!
Lou quietly talks to Brett - he really wants to marry Cheryl: now that the baby is coming, he wants them to be a family unit. He asks Brett to have a word with Cheryl. Brett doesn't look sure, but agrees.
Pier
Doug and Phil are in the water, but Michael is less keen. Cody encourages him and Michael is forced to admit he isn't keen on the sea. Cody ends up pushing him in!
No.28
Gaby is trying to change a nappy (cloth) unsuccessfully, so Pam shows her how. Pam waxes lyrical about having a baby in the house.
GABY: It will be my baby, though, Mum, *I'm* the one that'll be caring for it.
PAM:(distracted) Yes, of course. But there's nothing to say that a grandmother can't lavish it with attention, is there?
GABY: Of course not.
She looks a bit concerned.
Pier
Cody is sitting with Doug while Phil and Michael swim around together. Michael seems to have got over his fear of the sea.
No.24
Cheryl comes in and Brett presents her with a huge bunch of flowers!
CHERYL: Have you been using my credit card again?
BRETT:(indignantly) No!
He explains that the flowers are from Lou.
BRETT:(awkwardly) He asked me to ask you to marry him.
Er, I don't think that's quite what he meant, by "a word", Brett!
Cheryl is not impressed. Brett explains that Lou wants to do the right thing by the baby and Cheryl looks thoughtful.
Pier
Phil and Michael come in from the water and they've both had a good time. Michael apologises for all he's said lately.
PHIL: Want to do it again some time?
MICHAEL: Love to. And next time we'll make it just the two of us, eh?
No.24
LOU: Did you ask her? What did she say?
BRETT: Well, I think it went pretty well.
LOU: Well, come on, what were her exact words?!
CHERYL: Why don't I tell you myself?
Brett makes himself scarce.
LOU: So, it's...
CHERYL: LOUIS CARPENTER I cannot believe you would stoop this low! Having a young boy do your dirty work, yet again!
LOU: Asking you to be my wife it not dirty work! I've tried every other way, I've tried to ask you all last week, you wouldn't listen.
CHERYL: OK, OK, so I'm listening now, aren't I? Why do you want to marry me, Louis?
LOU: Because you are a wonderful woman and I love you very much.
CHERYL: I am. Can't you love me if we simply live together?
LOU: When we decided to live together, that was under entirely different circumstances, you weren't pregnant then. Now, I want this baby to have a proper father. I may be old- fashioned, but I would like us to be Mr and Mrs Carpenter.
CHERYL: I see. You just want to the do the right thing by the baby and me. That's lovely.
She hugs him.
LOU: Oh, I thought you were going to turn me down!
He hugs her back.
CHERYL: I am.
