ROSEMARY: I want you to have Tracey. I mean, naturally, I would support her financially, but New York's no place for a child! Tracey adores you, and you love children. What would be a better solution than for you to look after her?!
Helen is shocked at Rosemary's request and says she'd be throwing away an opportunity - Rosemary needs to wake up to herself. Rosemary says that it's in Tracey's best interests to stay with Helen. Helen says that the answer is no - Rosemary will just have to bring disorder to her orderly life.

Beverly's flat
The kids have gone out to get pizza. Caroline comes around to see Beverly and tells her that her relationship with Jim happened suddenly. Beverly says it's over between her and Jim, so it doesn't matter.
CAROLINE: Are you sure? Because I'd rather not see him again if you hold out any hopes of getting back together.
BEVERLEY: I don't. Our relationship was floundering long before you came on the scene. Jim's a free agent as far as I'm concerned. So good luck. I hope it works out better for you than it did for me.
She shows Caroline out.
CAROLINE: Thank you.
BEVERLEY: Jim's a lot of hard work. You may not be thanking me for long.

Jim is ranting at Helen for making Caroline cry.
HELEN: I had my reasons - Beverly, for one!
JIM: Oh, give me a break. Do you think I hadn't considered Beverly? That's why I told her I was seeing someone. Our marriage is over! If Beverly wanted it any other way, she could have said so!
HELEN: No, she couldn't!
JIM: Why not? Come on, Helen. Cut the drama, tell me what's going on!
HELEN: I promised her I wouldn't tell you. She's pregnant.
Jim's face reads utter shock.
