Recap
Dorothy suggests to Joe that he could buy the land on the boundary - she'll sell it to him for $20,000.
Mangels
Joe says it's daylight robbery - it's a miserable bit of land. Dorothy says he either purchases it or he moves the fence. Kerry steps in and says that they don't have $20,000. Lochy suggests they could wrestle to decide the outcome(!)
Twins/Paul's
Melanie comes round to find the twins having a quiet night in pampering themselves. Christine is wearing a green face-mask. Melanie tells them that she's a bit lonely at Des's place with Des away - she breaks the silence by talking to herself(!)
Melanie is going to her parents tonight and not seeing Kelvin. However, Melanie has a good feeling about Kelvin and thinks he might be a long-term love interest. The twins are excited and start singing the Wedding March(!)
Outside the Bishops
Sharon, Ryan and Tanya are hanging out while Lochy eavesdrops. They discuss wagging school tomorrow and going to the beach. Sharon doesn't want to, but encourages Ryan to go. Lochy bursts into the conversation and says she's coming too. She tries to blackmail Ryan, but he's not having any of it.
Twins/Paul's
Caroline and Christina are painting their toenails when Kelvin calls round with a rose each for them. They are a bit confused to see him, but he says he thought he'd just pop in. He sits in between them, much to their surprise.
Mangels
Matt is having a word with Kerry in the kitchen - he's had a letter from Lee. Apparently she is doing well, and has a job on a cattle station in the Northern Territory. She's not coming back and says in her letter that she has a lot to do before settling down, so she and Matt can't be together.
In the living room, Joe is watching the sport, so Matt goes in to join him.
Twins/Paul's
The twins are trying to get rid of Kelvin by suggesting that he pops over to see Melanie, but he doesn't want to. Kelvin starts sneezing and spills a cup of tea over Caroline, who goes off to change.
KELVIN: You're the one I like the best. Compared to you, Caroline's a drag. How about a date?
CHRISTINA:(angrily) No, I don't want date (pushes him) and that's my sister you're talking about! And what about Melanie?
KELVIN: I think she's great...but I'm too young to be tied down to just one girl!
Christina can't believe what she's hearing!
The Park
Lochy is moaning on to Ryan about not being allowed to come to the beach. Tanya joins Ryan and they see Joe on the road. He offers them a lift to the beach. Lochy sneaks into the van and hides while Ryan and Tanya are putting their surf boards on to the roof.
Twins/Paul's, the following morning
Caroline and Christina are discussing what to tell Melanie about Kelvin. Caroline says there's nothing they can do - Melanie won't believe them anyway. She'll just have to find out the truth on her own.
The Beach
Ryan and Tanya get their surfboards down while Lochy runs out of the car and hides in some bushes, unseen.
She follows Ryan and Tanya to the beach at a distance.
No.32
Joe gets back from dropping Tanya and Ryan off, to find that Dorothy has got some workmen in to give her an estimate on the cost of moving the fence. Kerry comes up and tells Joe that there's nothing they can do. Dorothy says that she'll bill Joe for half the cost of moving the fence. Joe won't have this, and says he'll move the fence himself.
The Beach
Tanya and Ryan are surfing while Lochy sits grumpily on her own at a distance. Ryan and Tanya splash about in the water to an cheesy 80s song backing! Then they start having a pash.
Suddenly, Ryan spots Lochy and the cheesy music stops!
The Coffee Shop
Melanie is dreamily telling Sharon how lucky she's been to find Kelvin.
Matt comes in and Melanie asks him how he is. He tells her that he doesn't like his job - maybe he's tied himself down to an apprenticeship too early. Melanie tells him there'll be plenty of time to travel when he's finished, and he'll have a trade, too.
Sharon says that a girl was in asking about him earlier - Matt has got an admirer. But Matt says he's not interested in anyone at the moment.
The Beach
Lochy has joined Ryan and Tanya in the sea, much to Ryan's displeasure. But they can't take her home because they're all wagging school and mustn't be caught. Ryan and Tanya decide to go off to the sand dunes. When they've gone, Lochy starts dragging Ryan's surf board into the sea.
Outer Office
Kelvin and Melanie are drooling over each other. Caroline rolls her eyes. Kelvin suggests dinner and a movie to Melanie and kisses her. Melanie looks all dreamy.
MELANIE: Isn't he wonderful? And he's all mine!
CAROLINE:(pointedly) He seems alright. On the surface. But you know, Melanie, people aren't always what they appear to be. Perhaps you should take things a little bit more slowly. After all, you haven't known him that long.
MELANIE: Sometimes I feel like I've known Kelvin all my life. Like he's a part of me. I guess we're just made for each other!
No.32
Dorothy is trying to pin Joe down to a specific date on which he'll move the fence. Joe stalls for time, but Dorothy gets cross and says she wants it moved immediately. Then she stalks out.
When Dorothy has gone, Joe tells Kerry that he'll beat Dorothy at her own game - he's not moving the fence!
The Beach
Ryan and Tanya are having a pash (yuck). Suddenly Ryan realises he's going to be late for work, and he can't see Lochy either. Scary music starts playing as Ryan and Tanya run down the beach calling Lochy's name. Suddenly, Tanya spots Ryan's surfboard washing up on the shore - without Lochy.
