Clarkes
Mike tells Bronwyn that it's between him and Jenny, but Bronwyn says they have to get married for the right reasons - and the only right reason is for love. Bronwyn apologises for upsetting them both before Mike throws her out.
When Bronwyn has gone, Jenny tells Mike that he's never actually told her that he loves her - she doesn't want him to marry her because he feels sorry for her. Mike says maybe love grows once you've made a commitment. Jenny says he's answered the question - he doesn't love her and there's no point hiding the truth. Mike says it doesn't matter, but Jenny says they'd both better do some serious thinking.
The Hospital
Sharon comes in to see Hilary who greets her frostily. Hilary doesn't believe that Sharon is really concerned for her welfare or she wouldn't have left Erinsborough in the first place. Sharon ignores her jibes and sympathises with her plight. Hilary asks Sharon to call Harold and offer to fill in at the Coffee Shop.
Paul and Gail's
Mike has come to rant at Bronwyn for what she said to Jenny. Henry defends Bronwyn - he says that everyone in Ramsay Street feels the same. Mike says they have no right to judge - they don't know what it's like to have caused such an injury. Bronwyn says that she understands that, but neither should they leap into marriage. Mike says he'll think about it, but tells Bronwyn and Henry to keep out of their lives in the meantime.
Robinsons
Madge has come to see Helen to ask if she's a frump(!) She says she's feeling dowdy next to Betty, like a sparrow to a bird of paradise! She complains that Harold is besotted with her. Helen says that Harold is the most solid, reliable man on the planet and he'd never stray from her. She suggests that Madge gets some plumage of her own(!) - like a new dress or a new hairdo. Madge is pleased with this suggestion. She tells Helen she'll make Betty look like she's ready for a third face-lift(!)
Paul and Gail's
Bronwyn is looking in the paper for some sort of job - they'll have to move out of Paul and Gail's house soon. Sharon comes round and hugs Bronwyn. She complains that Hilary was frosty with her at the hospital. Bronwyn thinks that Hilary is very fond of her, but she's the sort of person who doesn't know how to show when she cares for someone.
Bishops
Henry is trying to cadge furniture off Madge to furnish No.30. Madge is unimpressed and says that she needs ALL her furniture and he should look elsewhere. Madge is looking through magazines and tells Henry that she's looking for a new look. She asks Henry if she looks dowdy. Henry says she isn't at all, but everyone needs sprucing up occasionally. He suggests she goes for something exciting. He also suggests that she change her furniture to go with her new look(!)
Madge tells Henry that she's got an outfit in her cupboard that she hasn't dared to wear since the day she bought it. She goes off to look for it.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Jenny and Mike are having Coffee and chatting to Sharon about Hilary's condition. Sharon starts rabbiting on about Hilary's condition and how she won't be able to have a normal life. Jenny gets upset and Mike tells Sharon off for being tactless.
Jenny tells Mike that they're making a mess out of everything - things are so confused.
Bishops
Madge calls to Henry and Scott that she's about to come out. She comes out wearing an AWFUL red dress and black sleeves. They are initially stunned, but then start to laugh. Madge is not amused.
Ramsay Street
Nick sees Skinner drive up - he's come to give Sharon her jumper back (she left it in the ute). Nick tells him to stay away from Sharon, but Skinner says Nick doesn't own Sharon.
Bishops
Madge is still wearing the dress and Henry and Scott are making her tea and cake to make up for laughing at her. She admits to Scott and Henry that she wants to compete with Betty.
MADGE: Maybe I just want Harold to notice me.
HENRY: Well, he will now Mum, believe me!
Madge says she's overdone things. There's a knock at the door and Henry goes to answer it. It's Helen.
Helen sits down with Madge and tries not to laugh at her outfit. Madge says at least she tried, and Helen hugs her.
Robinsons
Nick is trying to paint but is distracted by his situation with Sharon - he doesn't know if they've got a relationship anymore. Scott is sympathetic, but he doesn't think Sharon likes Skinner. He says he thinks Sharon cares for him, even though they fight all the time. Scott says he knows that feeling, and advises Nick to patch things up. Nick seems buoyed by this and resolves to sort things out.
The Hospital
Mike has come to see Hilary. She is pleased to see him and they talk about Jenny. She asks Mike to bring Jenny in.
Hilary tells Jenny that she's been wanting to speak to her - she has a lot of questions and Jenny might be able to tell her how to cope. Jenny gets cross and says Hilary has picked the wrong person to ask - she hasn't come to terms with her injuries and she doesn't know if she ever will. She leaves the room.
Hilary apologises to Mike for upsetting Jenny. Mike says he's suddenly realised that he's to blame for Jenny's lack of coping - he's been so desperate to help her, he's gone overboard and done to much for her. He thinks he's made things harder than they should have been.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Nick apologises to Sharon for fighting with her. They agree to call a truce. Nick invites her to go out tonight, but Sharon admits she's going out with Skinner tonight. Just then, Skinner comes out of the Coffee Shop!
