Recap
Des offers Aunt Edie a job managing the Coffee Shop. Sharon is not pleased.
Joe and Jim bickers over their children's go-karts. They launch down the Ramsay driveway, straight towards Aunt Edie!
Ramsay Street
Mrs Chubb screams in terror but luckily the go-karts pass harmlessly by.
DES: Mrs Chubb! Are you alright?
AUNT EDIE: You tell me. Are we still in this world or have we moved on to the next?
DES: Well, unless there's a Ramsay Street in heaven, you're still on Earth!
Mrs Chubb starts laying into Joe and Jim who apologise profusely. The go-karts are not in too good a shape, especially Toby's, which has fallen to bits on impact with the pavement. Jim tries not to laugh.
Robinsons
Madge is chatting to Beverly about Harold - Beverly thinks that Harold is suffering from tension and it's affecting his muscles. She suggests Harold has a massage and recommends having a look for one in the local paper.
Hilary comes in with the statue which she is wrapping up in some green tissue paper. Jim and Katie come in giggling about nearly killing Mrs Chubb.
No.30
Nick has come to apologise to Sharon for the way he talked to her - the naked modelling was just a bit of a shock and he didn't mean to treat her like a tart. He tells her that her job is her business, even if he doesn't like it. Sharon says it doesn't matter now - she's thrown the job in. Nick isn't pleased that Sharon didn't tell him immediately and storms out.
Mrs Chubb comes in ranting about her experience with the go-karts. Sharon tells them that she's split up with Nick and Mrs Chubb looks rather pleased!
Garden of the Mangels
Joe and Toby are considering the wreckage of their go-kart. Jim comes round and offers to help them put it back together again but Joe refuses his help saying it's a matter of pride(!) Jim is exasperated and heads off.
Bishops
Madge is on the phone organising a masseuse when Harold limps out of his bedroom bent nearly double. Harold is worried that the masseur will be a hulking brute and is horrified to hear that Madge has booked a woman(!)
Des comes round to see if Harold can make the opening of the Coffee Shop, but there's no hope of that. Madge says she'll be there though.
Robinsons
Katie is sad about Toby's go-kart being smashed up but Jim assures her it'll be OK. Beverly reminds Katie about her garage sale and says she could get on with collecting stuff for it. Beverly goes off to find some old stuff and Katie tries to enlist Nick to help with the advertising - but he's too depressed about Sharon.
No.30
Mrs Chubb doesn't like Nick's mural on the wall and wants to paint over it. Sharon is a bit upset about the breakup but Mrs Chubb says that Nick is just an urchin(!) They head off to the Coffee Shop's re-opening.
Garage of the Mangels
Joe is giving Katie some old junk for her garage sale - Toby is helping too. He tells Katie to call him Joe.
Robinsons
Beverly has got a boxful of stuff ready for Katie's garage sale. Katie comes in and says that Joe has given them loads of stuff for the sale. Jim is surprised to hear her calling him "Joe". Beverly tells Toby to stick to "Doctor Marshall" and not "Bev" with her!
When Beverly, Jim and Hilary have headed off to the Coffee Shop opening, Toby and Katie load the rest of their stuff into the box. Unfortunately Hilary's statue is still on the table and they add it to their collection.
Coffee Shop
Des congratulates Joe on the good work he's done on the Coffee Shop fittings.
BEVERLY: What do you think, Hilary?
HILARY: Looks cheap.
In the kitchen, a building inspector is having a look around. He comes out and tells Des that the coffee shop can't pass inspection - some of the materials used aren't fire-proof and there's some gaps in the units.
BUILDING INSPECTOR: Let's just say that your re-opening celebrations are just a trifle premature.
(Later)
The guests are just leaving and when they've gone Des's shoulders slump. He shouts for Joe and tells him he'd better get on fixing the kitchen - they're opening tomorrow no matter what. He tells Joe he'll just have to work all night. Joe protests that he told Toby he'd help him with his billy-cart but Des says he doesn't care!
Ramsay Street
Toby and Katie have set up their garage sale outside the Robinson house. Sharon picks up Hilary's statue but doesn't buy it. Nick comes up and tells Katie he wants to sort things out with Sharon. She tells him to get on with it!
No.30
Sharon opens the door to Nick. He's sorry about saying he wanted to break up - it's not what he wants. Sharon is really pleased but then he sees that she and Mrs Chubb are painting over his mural. He's upset and walks off dejectedly.
Ramsay Street
Business is brisk at the Garage Sale. Harold is out for a walk, still bent double, and Katie tries to sell him a walking stick!
Joe pulls up in his car and breaks the news to Toby that he has to work all night at the Coffee Shop - they'll have to work on the cart tomorrow. To soften the blow, he buys Hilary's statue for $5, saying it would make a great present for Mrs Mangel in England.
KATIE: You won't regret this, Joe. What you've got there is a real bargain!
