Clarkes
Mike is busy studying much to Des' annoyance - he think he's working too hard. Helen and Jane arrive and Des assumes Jane and Mike are going out as Jane is dressed up. Jane explains that she is going to the dance competition with Tony, Paul and Gail. Helen and Des are surprised to hear Paul is going dancing and they wish Jane luck as she leaves. Mike is obviously unhappy about Jane going out with Tony and Helen tells Des she thinks Jane should have been more sensitive to Mike's feelings.

Paul and Gails
Gail emerges in her finest puffball dress. Paul is engrossed in his paper and doesn't want to go dancing. He says he's tired and Gail says that's no excuse, she works just as hard as he does and after all she did nail the Lou Carpenter deal. Paul thinks he was the one who scored the deal and says he is not going dancing. However when Gail threatens to devote all her passion to the business he soon changes his mind and runs upstairs to get changed.

Mrs Mangels
Tony is waiting for Jane and watching Mrs Mangel fuss over Harold. He now has full-blown flu and Mrs Mangel has his head over a steaming bowl of water! When Harold complains, Mrs Mangel reminds him he only has Madge to blame

Paul and Gails
Paul comes downstairs in his dancing gear earning a round of applause from Gail. Jane and Tony arrive and tell Paul that he'll have lots of fun.

Paul and Gails
The competiton is over and Jane and Tony have come back to Paul and Gail's to celebrate their win. Paul is dancing around the room convinced that he and Gail will be entering and winning the next competition! Jane asks if she can go and get Mike as she thinks he needs a study break. When she leaves Tony complains about her bringing Mike around. Gail thinks he's being unfair and tells him Jane has been honest about her relationship with Mike from the start. However Tony tells them both that he's crazy about Jane and until she has a ring on her finger he's still in the game.

Clarkes
Helen and Des are still playing cards. Jane arrives and asks Mike to come over to Paul and Gail's. Mike is reluctant but with some persuasion from Helen and Des he accompanies Jane. Des tells Helen that Mike is using his studies as an excuse not to socialise. He realises Daphne's death had more of an effect on him than they first thought.

Paul and Gails
Jane and Mike arrive and Tony insists that he and Jane show off the routine that scored their victory. Paul and Gail join them on the dance floor but Mike is unimpressed.

Ramsays
It's the middle of the night and Henry comes into the kitchen after hearing Madge wake up. She's upset about Harold and feels she has let him down. Henry assures her Harold will be back if he loves her. Madge says the 'Dear Georgette' letter has worried her and she feels Harold may be anti marriage.

Paul and Gails
Tony wants he and Jane to enter more competitions and they continue to reminisce about the night. Mike speaks up and says he doesn't want Jane to compete again. He says Jane is supposed to be his girlfriend and if she's spending all that time with Tony then it won't mean much.

Mrs Mangels
Mrs Mangel tells Jane she has been too naive and wonders if she'd have been as understanding if Mike had been running around with someone of the opposite sex. She feels Jane could have paid Mike some more attention of late, what with Daphne dying and Eileen being hospitalised. Jane agrees she has been insensitive and vows to set things straight with Mike. Harold is still sick and won't go to church with Mrs Mangel. The doorbell rings and its Madge. Mrs Mangel answers the door and tells her she can't see Harold, he's very sick and it could be pneumonia! Madge barges in anyway and Jane leaves them alone. Madge apologises to Harold for tipping water over him but confesses she knows that he is 'Georgette'. She confronts him about the letter and says if he doesn't want to marry her he should just say so. Harold asks if a month from today would be too soon. Madge is naturally ecstatic.

Paul and Gails
Paul and Gail are looking out of the window waiting for Lou to arrive with the contract. They agree that whoever he hands the contract o wins the bet. The loser has to make the winner breakfast in bed for a week. Lou arrives and drops the contract on the table, smack bang in the middle of Paul and Gail. They are very amused and Lou fails to see why!

Ramsay
Henry is happy that Madge and Harold are back together but says he won't believe it until they are actually married. Lou arrives and tells Madge she does deserve better than him. Madge says she has made a decision and will be marrying Harold. He is pleased for her and hopes she is happy. Harold arrives and he and Lou call a truce. However when Lou departs he reminds Madge that variety is the spice of life.

Mrs Mangels
Mike apologises to Jane and said he had no right to tell her what to do. Jane says it wasn't his fault and says she should have been paying more attention to him instead of dancing with Tony. She promises she will be there for him If he needs her and Mike tells her how much he misses Daphne.
